I went here for my friend's birthday and we all ordered different items. After giving us or menus, we were served with some toasted bread with butter, which is nice. The waiters there were very nice and patient. What I loved the most was the fact that the restaurant is located outside of the bay area. The restaurant itself is always BEAUTIFUL, including a great mirror in the bathroom!! As for the food, the food was also great, lots if flavor. However, I wish they gave us more calamari. Overall, greattt experience!! read more

Their menu was extremely pricey and short on basic pastas and pizzas. What kind of an Italian restaurant wouldn't offer the basic fan favorites? Don't waste your time when there are so many other great restaurants on Emmons Ave. read more

Finally a restaurant in south Brooklyn that gives you that city vibe! Everything we ordered was amazing and the service was top notch. I highly recommend the kale salad and truffle pizza (probably the best I've had anywhere.) The decor is gorgeous and all of the staff is friendly and helpful! Loved the cellphone charger outlets by every table (genius!) This is a must try! So happy that now we can have good Italian without venturing to the city! read more

Nextdoor is a nice restaurant on Emmons Ave in Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. The food is good. After hearing good things I had to give it a try. Came several times with the family for Sunday night dinners. The service is good. The kids like the pizza and Caesar salad. I always get the grilled branzino. The zucchini chips are also very good. My kids go crazy for the nutella pizza with strawberries and bananas as well as the s'mores pie in the cast iron skillet. read more

Great pizza. I've tried the funghi which is with mushrooms and caramelized onions which was delicious. Its about the size of a personal pie which will feed two small kids. Crisp crust, thin, and nicely charred. This time i came in after seeing a food-porn worthy photo of their salmon burger and reading about them on sheepsheadbites.com My first impression is this what sheepshead bay needs. Not an untz-untz night club but a classy but affordable restaurant that puts out great food. As you sit down you're greeted by friendly wait staff and served some bread baked in the pizza oven with rosemary infused olive oil. Observe the char on this bread if you're still not sold on the pizza quality. I got the salmon burger, since that's what brought me back in. Flavored with dill, cooked perfectly medium-rare and served with cornichons that perfectly balance the salmon burger, and shoestring fries that are unrivaled in the area. Perfectly crisp with a pillowy center. I hope they maintain this quality because they'll have a repeat customer from me, and probably you if you come here and try it. read more

Well best part about this so called Italian Food, was the sparkling water from a bottle. Chicken parm was preheated inside a McDonald's microwave/oven, not even freshly made, sauce was super sour, no salt and pepper on the table, no grated cheese offered on the pasta. and the Hawaiian pizza, came out hot and shees just fell of the slice, bacon was 2 inche long strips as if it is bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Absolutely horrible service. No special touch or love in the kitchen. Will be grand opening and grand closing after tourism ends. But the owner rocks a sweater over shoulders, as if he is at a Ralph's Lauren photoshoot. I guess image is everything. Stay away, go to soup and burger down the block!! read more

Visited this establishment Friday night with friends and family. Waiters were very inviting the decor is great and surprisingly the prices were very reasonable. Started with the calamari and the margarita pizza which were phenomenal. Pizza had a crispy crust with soft cheese that melts in your mouth. I've been here a few times in the evenings with family since the place opened, but a couple of weeks ago I came in for lunch on my own. I had pasta with veal ragu and a glass of pinot grigio. Everything arrived without any delays. The pasta was nice and hot. The environment provided by the wide open space makes you feel like you can dine in the middle of the room, yet be alone with your thoughts as I had wanted to be that day. The waiter came by just enough - I never needed anything as he always had everything taken care of, and yet he wasn't hovering over me every few seconds either. This was a great dining experience. Make sure to ask about specials and off - menu items. There are a lot of good options they will happily suggest. read more

Honestly, it's very hard to understand the poor reviews. Emmons needed an Italian place like this and now it has something not only trendy but with solid food options as well. Authentic Italian? Maybe not. But the food is rather contemporary and tastes great! This restaurant is styled perfectly, has a great ambiance and is kept VERY well by the staff. This is Emmons Ave. not Park Ave.,and for that reason 4 stars is very appropriate. read more

I have a serious obsession with next door! I love love everything about this place. The ambiance is very cozy and comfortable. The service is great! And the food is amazing! Their salads, burgers and pizzas are to die for! I've been here over 5 times and they have yet to disappoint me. I would recommend the truffle pizza, the burger and the quinoa salad. Can't wait to visit again soon. Thank you next door for your wonderful service and amazing menu! read more

This is my second time coming to this location. Wanted to give it another chance but this place loses it points again with there terrible customer service. We understand that we walked in late. But if you did not want to accommodate us then you should have not let us in. It is not okay to make anyone feel rushed ESPECIALLY PAYING CUSTOMERS. Food is amazing but the staff makes it so hard to return with the exception of the hostess. She was the only person to greet us. The waiter rushed our service, didn't even greet us, no clue his name, didn't tell us-was very rude and unprofessional! Did not even serve us water until I told another guy at the end to let him know my party of 7 did not get any water and no bread. Whenever our waiter returned he looked as if we were a bother to him, did not crack a smile once. Both times my family and I went our bill has been over $400. Both times tip was included in the bill when it was very much NOT DESERVED! When I told him at the end how we felt he said sorry kitchen was closing so he had to rush us, okay but your customer service sucks, did not check on us, ask us if we're ok or need anything. Had to ask a different waiter for a drink refill and to serve us all water and another waiter for napkins since we got none when our food was served. Don't let people in cause you want their money and not deliver good service period. Definitely not returning, they are several great restaurants in the area I rather spend my money and time elsewhere. read more

This place is so nice! It's newly open right on emmons. It has floor to ceiling accordion doors that open up the front of the restaurant to make outdoor seating. The restaurant itself has a modern lofty feel to it. We had a great experience here. We had ordered the calamari and a margarita pizza. Both were Cooked well. The staff was friendly and attentive. Only slip up was that they confused our order and sent us the funghi (mushroom and onion) pizza. Once we pointed out the mistake they promptly fixed the order, and the pizza was worth the wait. The crust was perfect consistency, with great sauce. Will definitely be returning.. Next time with a bigger appetite so that I can try some more items. read more

This restaurant is highly underrated. My family and I decided to try it out and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. We we're pretty excited about this place at first. We got very disappointed after having a meal and gettinga bill. When the bill came, apparently, they charged me for two meals. My salad with Salmon came out to $40. Then we asked the Personnel to look into it, they told us, that they charged us for two meals. I didn't have 2 meals: I had a salad with a piece of salmon. The owner saw us being concerned, and that it that was some alterations, instead of resolving an issue and making a reasonable price for a salad, he just told us this is what it is and we have to pay it. I definitely won't be back to this place. read more

The stress that comes along with planning a large event is typically unavoidable-- unless you throw your event at Next Door. From the moment I booked my event with them for the upstairs room, the planning was a breeze! They worked with me and were so accommodating to all of my requests. The food was perfect, some of the favorites were the outstanding truffle pizza (yes! The pizza lived up to the hype discussed by the other reviews), the spicy pasta, and the fresh selections from the raw bar. My event was such a hit with my guests that I cannot wait to plan my next event with Next Door. It is a true treasure for the neighborhood! read more

Visited this restaurant on December 1, 2020. Extremely rude server waited on our table. And I already mentioned in my previous reviews that I really don't care about service unless, of course, something obnoxious happens. The thing that matters most to me when I eat out is - surprisingly! - FOOD. In "Next Door", however, not only the waiter was seemingly unpleased to see us stepping in, but he also "recommended" me the worst dessert I had in a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile. "Homemade" cheesecake, which, as he claimed, they make on premises, was the most disappointing highlight of my night. We have just had dinner and were only in the mood for drinks and some dessert but, since it's coronavirus time now, the waiter told me ordering dessert as mandatory food was not enough to justify our presence. So, we were made to order the appetizer as well. Overall experience - poor. I do not recommend this place. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I'm even perplexed as to why this is a 4 star rating. If I can rate 0 with a side of poop emoji, I would. Out of all the Italian restaurants I have gone to in my life (gone to plenty), I have never encountered such awful service. I'll put it this way: No bread. No water given. No Parmesan request. Wrong orders given without any apology. Slow service (we were the only ones in the place, go figure). Specials doesn't entail nothing but what it says, ie: "soft shell crabs" -- nothing more, nothing less. They will literally just give you soft shell crabs with just its sauce. My crabs looked lonely. When requested for water, was given 1/4 of water in a bottle. Price were not reasonable for such mediocre food/service. I highly do NOTTTTT recommend this place. Applebee's down the street is even a lot better to be quite frank. read more

I highly recommend this venue for a lunch on the bay or for use of their private room (upstairs) for a special event (for not too many people- I assume up to 60-70 is okay, depending on the set-up). The food was overall not bad (the only reason they're not getting one star), I enjoyed the fungi pizza I got but the ribeye my boyfriend got was oversalted and hard to chew. However... The service was absolutely atrocious. After we were seated, noone offered us water... We had to call over a waiter to ask for water 10 minutes after being seated. No waiters come over on their own to check on you, you have to call over all the waiters on your own. Ready to order food? Make sure to call one over or you'll be sitting with your closed menus for 25 minutes. The food took a very long time to be ready. We decided we wanted dessert, so after chasing a server down to get a dessert menu, noone came to ask us what we wanted. After asking a server to come over he nodded at us and then never came up... We couldn't take it anymore and came up to the front and paid for the bill and left immediately. The food isn't good enough to make up for the absolutely awful service. I don't need the waiters to be standing over me but at least the basics I think is fair to expect....P.S THEY WERE NOT BUSY AT ALL! read more

Very disappointing experience! My friend and I came here for dinner and the server took forever to come and grab our order. Once he arrived, he took our order and never asked us if we'd like any drinks! I had to grab his attention again while he was walking away to get our drink order in. He seemed to completely not give a shit, his attitude was horrendous, as if it was a hassle having us in his section. We didn't even get any water! Had to flag another server down for that. Then the food took forever! Once it arrived, it was less than sub par. We got the fried calamari, the lobster ravioli, and the mushroom truffle pizza. The only thing worth mentioned was the pizza... 4/5 The only person that seemed to be doing his job and going above and beyond was the busser, who looked no older than 14. Maybe they were having a bad service that night, but next time I'm gonna go "next door" to the Greek restaurant instead!!!!! read more

Couple of problems, having eaten here twice just to make sure I didnt hit a bad day - I didn't. First, the music is WAY too loud for 3 in the afternoon, had to ask them twice to lwer it. You know when you're at a wedding and you have to yell to be heard, that volume. Took my aunt there for her birthday and not only the volume of the music but the choice the choice of music, don't need cursing. If it was 7 or 8 at night I would have no problem but afternoon is when adults, mothers with babies and young children go to eat and this we don't need this garbage. Second, no house wine just ovepriced bottles. It's supposed to be a local pizzeria, a little upscale, but somewhere the locals can stop have a bite in a beauiul location. BTW the music is too loud. Second, they do nothing to distinguish themselves from Yiasou "next door", it actually looks like a second room for the restaurant and they couldn't think of a better name? You pour all that $ into another place and get lazy when it comes to autographing it, not a big deal but there was an ifinite amount of other choices. It's like naming it Le Restaurant. Third, EXPENSIVE, you have an epensive restsurant next door, well worth it BTW, why would you shut out a whole mass of people, the regulars, who will keep you afloat when it's not tourist season - winter. This is not Williamsburg or Greenpoint, thank God, this is, like it or not, a blue collar neighborhood if you make it expensive they won't come. We were 3 people with 1 bottle of the cheapest wine 1 appetizer, main and dessert, $190.00 without the tip, c'mon. BTW the music is too loud. Hong Kong City, where Vittoria's was, was doing incredible business, they renovated and raised the prices - closed in 6 months. Next to Maria's Resturant was a local pizzeria also doing great business, new owners took over, renovated, raised the prices - gone in under a year. Unless something drastic happens here I don't know. read more

Walked in this place because I liked the design. I wouldn't say the food was particularly amazing. It tasted simple - my order was Parmigiana chicken. I was glad it was a big portion, so I could save half of it for a lunch next day. The desert made of cottage cheese contained an aromatic additive similar to one used in soap. My friend had an apple martini with grey goose vodka, which he said tasted extremely watery, hardly any alcohol added. read more

Very small portions, very large prices. The fried calamari was nothing to rave about, especially because of the handful amount and huge price. The pasta special that I ordered had a sprinkle of crab meat specks and about 5 small shrimp in an unidentifiable "sauce" that I literally had to drain out of the bowl. $38 ridiculous! Went there with our guests from Israel for a quick dinner and once again was satisfied with the food and service. This time I tried the lobster ravioli and truffle pizza, highly recommend it. The waiter was very attentive and prompt. I see people complain about parking and give a lesser rating. The restaurant, which is one of 50 on Emmons Ave isn't responsible for parking. I wish I could review something else, but I had it both times! My husband said the scallops were cooked perfectly. For dessert, both times, we had the Nonna torte. Frigging unbelievable.
