My work required good hearing, so I've had it checked off and on for, oh, 20+ years. Dr. McLean is hands down the best I've seen. Her pre-audiologist degree is in neuropsych, so she can clearly and thoroughly explain how intimately your brain is tied into your hearing. My employee insurance ended with my retirement 2 years ago, but I religiously see her annually and happily pay for the examination as she tests me again, tweaks my hearing aids, checks their condition, and updates all advice and recommendations. My hearing aids were pretty $$$, but after I got them I met various friends who went cheap/down-market and clearly regretted it. I doubt they got as good service from their audiologists, either.
