Dr Wittenberg has been looking after my eyes for some time…read more My eyesight is now better than it ever has been since I was 5 years old. My left eye damaged as a child has been surgically corrected and my Macular Degeneration has been arrested and I believe reversed. I am 79 years old blessed with great eyesight thanks to the caring, talented Dr Wittenberg. Comments re dissatisfaction with treatment time is not warrented as all patients are advised to allow upto two hours for each appointment as various procedures are undertaken, several involve time for dilation, freezing, etc, to take place, all requiring sequential time for various drops, etc to take effect. The treatments and process are first class, as are all the staff.

This office is located on the 2'nd floor of the Westminster Centre -- street (ground) level access via an escalator almost directly in front of London Drugs, and via an elevator from the Centre's underground free parking levels. My first referral was a same day event - my doctor called during his examination of my eyes, and I was accommodated for some laser surgery that afternoon. The second referral was for a different matter, not quite as immediate in nature, but necessary for some observation, as I was in line for cataract surgery, and it had to be assessed, and attended to, if necessary, before my operation due date. I have nothing but great things to say about how I have been treated. Professional clinical testings, examinations, and diagnoses -- each followed though to the appropriate procedural responses.

The recepitonist didn't identify herself as Kingsway Medical Clinic on the phone. The receptinist remanind silent on the phone until the patient asked whether she has reached the right number. This was not acceptable. How could the receptionist ask the patient to call half an hour later because she was busy? If the patient had some issues to check with the doctor and the call was delayed, was the receptionist take the responsibility? Dr. Jackson Chu was marvellous. Other than his professionalism, rest of the clinic was running like a business. Some doctor even referred patients to get prescriptions from the drug store next door. Actualy, both the medical clnic and the drug store were connected via a short hallway though with different main doors. No wonder many good doctors working in this cilinic left.

This is a nice place. The good thing is that you get a choice of doctor's to see. Receptionists are generally professional and kind. Dr. Kim Chen is outstanding. He's young and understands modern medicine. Dr. Teri Tien saw me when he was away and she snapped at me; probably because she was super stressed and new at the practice. She left the room as I was talking. Dr. Eddie Wong is a different story. He treats the clinic like an assembly line and is not understanding of patients. + close to Metrotown and all it's pharmacies. + young doctor's leave's this place with room to grow. + kind receptionists + state of the art software. No more paper. - Dr. Wong detracts from the place. - place looks a little run down. - they generally have a time limit on each patient. It can get rushed where the doctor's will shoo you out the door in the middle of talking.
