I love this establishment…read more I easily booked a eye test in store while walking by. I completed their intake form in advance and showed up early for the eye test. At the appointment I was brought into room and two of the three devices measured my eyes and then I was seated in the "read the letters" room with Dr Knight. Every question I could think of was easily and fully answered and everything felt unhurried and thorough. It was decided with my input what I wanted and what my options are. The decision to upgrade to a specific style of lens that better addressed how I wanted to use my glasses was chosen. Everything walked through and detailed I ordered the lenses after having the current frames measured. Glasses promised in 10 days. Today they called and left a message so called back to ensure I could pick them up today. I could. I just picked up my lens upgraded "distance" glasses now with Hoya Sync III lenses allowing me to use my distance glasses still to read close-up things. I had upgraded to glasses to be able to wear at my dental office employment to read the small computer print on the wall. These glasses have a free blue light protection lens coating (perfect for blue dental curing light extra protection). I have 90 days to determine if this works for me. If I order more lenses in the next 30 days I can continue to pay half the cost at $185. I've never been more pleased.

The assigned staff doesn't really multitask (handling multiple customers at same time) so you get their full attention during the visit. This high level of service is standard in Japan no matter where you shop (previous home) and almost nowhere in Vancouver would I get this level of service here except maybe at Mercedes. They follow Covid rules, everyone's temperature is taken, hand sanitizer is given. The shop is clean, well laid out, modern and spacious. Service is by appointment only due to Covid. The staff that looks after me is Ray. He is very patient and knowledgable when helping you choose frames and lenses, who knew there'd be so much to learn! This definitely helps me find the right pair of glasses more efficiently. I will definitely be recommending this store to friends and family.

From start to finish, I felt all my questions were answered and had such a thorough exam and even had a seemless transition to the optical staff. The selection is extensive and was happily able to find multiple options for glasses as well as being able to provide the latest and greatest technology. I have…read moreSilhouette frames and after my eye exam, I ordered 4 sets of lenses for 4 frames. initially I ordered one pair, and before knowing that I was going to order add lenses, the optician who was dealing with me, told me that my newer frame wasn't good enough to use again. That was my cue to take my business elsewhere...but I didn't. Interestingly, when I ordered additional lenses and spending a lot more, those frames became usable again. I spent $3,300. on 4 sets of lenses. I'm happy with 1 pair, which thankfully are my daily glasses and the only pair that I ordered that had no changes to the shape or colour. The only pair that was exactly what I ordered. One out of four. I wanted an orange tint, but I got rose tinted instead. I ordered plain rectangle reading glasses, but got designer lenses and paid $300. more than I was quoted. I still don't know why! I asked the optician for a breakdown of my readers, I wanted to know why they cost that much more. I received an email with the invoices for my glasses with no explanation. I then asked the supervisor the same. I received more questions from her. I still have no idea why I paid $300. more for designer readers that I didn't order and don't like! But because they are readers that I grossly overpaid for, I'm leaving them as is. The rose tinted lenses and the sunglasses are not what I wanted and so I'll be spending another $2000. maybe less because this place is pricey, somewhere else to get what i want. No accountability, poor communication, pricey. They've lost 30+ years of my business and I can't in good conscience recommend spending your hard earned money here.

My current eye doctor was no longer the person I wanted to work with so I searched and found FYidoctors. I called and after describing the situation they managed to fit me in immediately. I saw Dr Head and she was able to assuage my fears and explain what I was dealing with. I am so very grateful for the kindness I was shown and the care I received. They went the extra mile. Barely 15 minutes to do the eye exam including photos, no hellos, asking about your day or interest in getting to know you as a patient or your eye history, just quick in and out and then "that'll be $140 please". My previous optometrist would spend 45min-1hr testing my eyes with all types of gadgets, multiple acuity, lens and distance tests, and took the time to properly review results and explain things in detail. Unfortunately I moved into Vancouver so cannot visit him anymore due to distance. This place is rapid fire and just seems to churn through patients as quick as possible. Couldn't believe how fast the eye appointment and testing took, in and out within 15 minutes... how is that enough time to properly evaluate someone??? In my opinion, it's not. Only recently did I notice a slight change. I booked an appointment for their comprehensive wye exam. They do several tests: pressure, retina scan, etc. Sorry, can't remember the names of the other tests. The receptionists are friendly and are helpful when explaining the billing/insurance process. I thought my eyes was worse but it's 20/20. I would recommend this place to get your eyes checked.
