For free hearing test for those over 40 and after a bit of asking it's free test and free trial for 30 days with the hopes that it helps you, that you notice its difference in your daily life and activities and that you'll subsequently end up keeping them. Obviously you can be concerned if there's anything upfront. There isn't. No costs at all upfront. I was not aware we walk away with hearing aid same day though. That was just amazing. I walked in around 1:30 pm and at 4 pm I'd been tested and fitted with a device. And apparently they can even connect you with resources and options for financial help etc. First step. Just get yourself tested. It's free to be tested. Take it one step at a time. Oh. And they don't make grandma style hearing aids only. You can have trendy hidden in ear pieces that come in colors. Being very self conscious and refusing to be seen as un-abled I had put off doing hearing aids for years. I'm glad I did it today. Highly recommend. And picked the specific location because it was convenient. When I saw that the clinic had reopened from being 'under reconstruction' (in December and January), I phoned and made an appointment. The facility was "shiny new" in appearance for my appointment -- exceptionally bright, neat, and clean. I was quickly processed, and within a few minutes was inside one of the inner offices to see the RHIP (Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner). She explained - in a very cordial and professional manner - what the testing would encompass. The testing was conducted in her office, and within an adjacent soundproof room. And when completed, I was shown graphical results, and explained what they meant re: my hearing. She then volunteered to forward results of my tests to the doctors seeking this information. And I have also learned recently that there has been a history of abuse and " inappropriate " conduct from upper management towards their staff. I was a very " patient " patient of 2 locations for over 2 years while seeking help for my moderate hearing loss, very severe tinnitus, and very severe hyperacusis. My first experience was with an audiologist at the Willow street location P----- is a TRT trained audiologist and she seemed eager to help me, but she continually very abruptly spoke over the top of my answer to every question that she asked me which caused me unnecessary confusion and stress. And the receptionist at the same clinic, S---- R---- made her interactions with me very inappropriately personal in nature in the ways that she would ask me questions about my choices in audiology care that were meant to be strictly between myself and the audiologist. On top of that, P----- ( the audiologist I tried to work with ) decided to quit the organization without providing myself, and her management, any notice. In the last hour of her last day of work with Wavefront she emailed me to let me know that she was resigning that day and that I should work with someone else. I later learned from one of her colleagues that there was dozens of other Wavefront Center for Communication Accessibility audiologists and administration staff that quit the organization in a sort of " mass exodus " as, apparently there were multiple reports of derogatory verbal abuse and " inappropriate " conduct from the CEO and management to some of their audiologists and admin team. Now, after I spoke with the new CEO, h---, on the phone, I was granted an expedited appt with the last remaining TRT trained audiologist at the head office in Mount Pleasant, G----. However when the appt time came I arrived to learn that she works with a student present during every appt with her patients. I can understand that she does this to help the organization to train new audiologists, but it is definitely not appropriate to not notify each patient of this beforehand. ( I was told by the reception that my appt was with ' G---- ' and no one else. ) When I asked G----- why and asked that my hearing test be done with just her she said " No. "I said " I was not told that by you or the admin staff or the CEO, so can you explain why, G----? " And she said " No, I do not think that I have to explain that to you. Would you like to proceed? " So, I thought that was actually very ignorant of G----. I finished my updated hearing test as it was needed to get my new in-ear tinnitus masker / hearing aid devices from the organization. I told the new CEO, h---- what I experienced and he agreed with me that I should have been notified that beforehand. The devices I waited over a year for were finally ordered and finally arrived. When at the head office for the fitting, excited to finally have my new tinnitus maskers the male audiologist, named n---, greeted me. While walking down a rather long hallway to the appt room, nick asked me " how has your day been so far? " which I answered. Yet he chose to ask me the same question 2 more times. Strange. I then asked for the appt room door to be closed, for privacy, focus and because of distracting audio and visuals in the hallway. The audiologist said no. The appt room doors were always closed at their other location, so I told him and the CEO so. I was then informed by the CEO that they could not accommodate that and that they will no longer be able to help me. If I were them, I would be offering me the same appt at a different clinic, and I suggested that to him and have received no response from the CEO I am considering filing a lawsuit against Wavefront Center for these reasons.

They are a nonprofit organization, so they don't have an ulterior motive. They test your hearing, fix your existing hearing aids, and also lend you replacements, while yours are in getting repaired. I bought new hearing aids from them, I have never been as pleased as I am with my new pair. I can turn them up and down myself. I also got them custom fitted into my ear canal. What a huge difference, in hearing. When you can't hear, and you go to a hearing aid company, you are at their mercy to how much or how little help you will get. From my experience and those of others, some feedbacks about the service they had received from practitioners have not been complimentary. The reasons are varied. Thus, when I was received at CONNECT HEARING, Sharon at reception, and Tiffany, the audiologist, exceeded my expectations. They are very professional, receptive, and very friendly. Never in a moment did I feel uncomfortable or obliging. I say this because others with diplomas and certificates hanging in their offices made me feel like I was "taking too much of their time". "Helping patients resolve their problems to their great satisfaction" is the objective of those who are truly professionals. And this is what Tiffany at CONNECT HEARING amply represents. She speaks English, a Chinese language(not sure if Cantonese or Mandarin), medical jargon, & just regular folks (She answered my questions in either jargon or human, whichever I wanted) The initial hearing test is free! What you'll pay for hearing aids depends on style & your insurance coverage; mine were $4K full price, but I paid $0.00, including three years full warranty; free battery replacements when needed, & one complete replacement, if I lose them or they're destroyed. Quality product, quality people I'm in a wheelchair, so accommodations had to be made, & the staff were great. The first person you'll meet is Sharon at te front desk; SOO nice! She'll answer questions, too, but, of course, will direct technical questions to the hearing professionals on staff. Parking in front & back (main building entrance in front, but accessible from back; wheelchair uses need to park in back & wheel around the building, & up a gentle ramp to get in.); I came by 401 bus, which dropped me right on the corner after a 1.5 minute ride from Brighouse Station. Honestly, I'd consider trveling here from other Metro Vancouver cities -- they're that good!
