Susan was so helpful in helping me spec out our door knobs and hardware for our house in Wellesley as well as our home in Maine. The product lines that she carries are very unique. Highly recommend NDH. read more

What a great little store!!! But, they have everything you could possibly need or want. I came in to find door knobs for my new doors. They helped me find exactly what I wanted. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I definitely will be back to pick out kitchen hardware. Shop local and shop small. read more

The products were were nice but as soon as Susan realized I was not going to spend a lot of money she had a bad attitude and didn't want to give me the time of day. She was also particularly annoyed when I didn't like her suggestions. I would never go back there. read more

I went into this store the other day to look for drawer pulls. I was the only person in the store and from the minute I stepped in the woman, Sue, clearly didn't have an interest in assisting me. She must have been able to sniff out that I didn't have deep pockets but I do have the means to buy quality and smart design when it's warranted. Rude is the best way to describe her. And now I see that several other people have had the same experience. I would suggest to anyone whether you have the dollars to spend or not - spend your money on kind and friendly local businesses. Not this one. read more

Have been several times and love this store and the employees who work here! Susan is wonderful, super easy to work with, and has a great eye for hardware! I have also worked with Rich and he offers creative solutions to problems you have - whether it be new construction or retro-fitting old. Mark is an excellent locksmith and was able to key all the locks in my home to one single key in a morning! The store offers a wide variety of locks, knobs, pulls, etc. Choosing hardware is difficult to do online. Pop into Newton Decorative Hardware and you can see, touch, turn, and pull to find exactly what you need/want! Did I mention that their turn around time is fast?! You can choose to pick up in the store or have your items shipped directly to your home. This store is a gem! read more

Wonderful customer service! We needed to pick out cabinet hardware for our house. As I am not a trade professional I felt very overwhelmed. Susan was absolutely wonderful to work with! She took the time to understand our budget and offered lots of guidance along the way. read more

I found Newton Decorative after several frustrating experiences online and at another local store. I needed to choose hardware for kitchen cabinets and wanted input from someone knowledgeable to make sure that I was ordering the right sizes. Wonderful inventory and expert personal service! This is a unique shop where we found exactly what we were looking for!

Susan is the BEST! So knowledgeable and helpful. Went to Needham Decorative before visiting Susan and couldn't get the time of day from them- sales person was clueless and never followed up. Susan took care of every inch in our house patiently and had amazing suggestions. Even was able to call a manufacturer and hunt down a plate/knob combination that wasn't advertised. her!! read more

Newton Decorative Hardware was a great choice when I was redecorating my home. The quality of the products and customer service have made my buying experience a pleasure. Susan's experience and knowledge are the reason I would never use a chain store. read more

You can't go wrong with Susan and Rich. They are friendly and helpful, unlike a similar store in the next town over. If you want personal service and great selection, shop here. read more

It was a joy to work with Susan, who is very knowledgeable and quickly guided me to the options that would work in our arts and crafts kitchen. This was the first time I had ever chosen hardware and I had already visited another large decorative hardware store where the salespeople could not be bothered to greet me and my husband, much less spend the time needed to help us sort through the seemingly endless choices. My experience at Newton Decorative Hardware was the opposite. Susan provided prompt personal service and excellent advice. We could not be happier with how our kitchen turned out. The hardware perfectly complements the cabinets and beautifully completes the kitchen. I don't usually bother to write reviews, but my experience here was so wonderful I felt compelled to share! read more

I gave this place two stars because it's clear they do have very nice stuff, with prices to match. But the attitude of the person who helped me -- I assume, going by the other reviews, that it was Susan, the owner -- was so know-it-all-ish and frankly condescending that I would never, ever go back there. The job of an owner or sales person is not to make the customer feel stupid, or feel as if they have no design sense at all (and I happen to have quite a bit of design sense). I guess that's not the philosophy at this place. But maybe that's the difference between Newton, where the store is, and Brookline, where I live. read more

Susan's great. She's so knowledgeable and made the process as painless as possible (and believe me, ordering door hardware can be quite painful). I'm an interior designer and have worked with various shops, but Susan's customer service sets her apart from the rest. Beautiful selections, and excellent pricing too. read more

My husband and I worked with Susan, the owner, to select cabinet hardware for our remodel. We found both Susan and her mom Ruth to be extremely nice and welcoming. This is our first remodel and Susan spent a lot of time with us going over different options at different price points. She always gave us her honest opinion and we never felt pressured to buy. In the end we ended up with some beautiful, high quality pulls at a reasonable price. We would not hesitate to shop here again! read more

I went there 1 month ago because I had a very nice experience with a gentleman who was very helpful. I went back there today to follow up on making a decision on which hardware to order and had a totally different, rather upsetting experience. I walked in, no one looked up from their phone or their computer. After a minute or two, the woman, Sue I believe asked if she could help me. She showed me a few items, then ran into someone in the store she knew, starting talking with him, then started helping him pick out something, while I stood there waiting for her to continue helping me. After a few minutes she acknowledged I was standing there and I said, "I do have a few more questions". She resumed helping me from where we left off for about one minute, then went back to talking with this person and again picking out things for him. It was so obviously rude, I couldn't believe it!! Maybe she figured because I couldn't spend $18 on one cabinet pull, I may have not been worth serving as a customer? Who knows, who cares. Picked up my cabinet and walked out, letting her know her behavior was very unkind in the least. I will never return there or recommend them to anyone read more

Excellent selection and customer service. Susan, the owner, is outstanding. You will not find a more helpful, honest person to help you. Highly recommend!! read more

Susan was so helpful. I echo the previous reviewers: the selection is outstanding, the service is terrific and the prices are competitive. I considered ordering our kitchen cabinet hardware on-line. However, after going to Newton Decorative Hardware, seeing their selection, getting terrific advice from Susan and comparing their price with on-line sites, I bought from NDH and am soooo pleased. We continue to get compliments on how our hardware is "distinctive" and really pulls together the other colors in our kitchen. Go here. You will be very pleased. read more

What a fabulous place! Great selection, reflecting a wide range of styles, without being overwhelming. Vanessa was extremely helpful and gracious, and she knew from the get-go what our preferred style would be. The prices are reasonable and well worth the customer service and confidence that we made the right choices. read more

This shop is such an incredible gem. They have more beautiful knobs and pulls than you could ever think of, and their staff is knowledgeable, helpful and extremely patient. We worked with Vanessa who is outstanding and patiently worked with us even as the store was closing. The prices were reasonable and we got a better deal than we could have online, which is a rarity. NDH is now our store of choice for all our decorative hardware. read more
