Let's be real--big-box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot don't exactly have a great reputation when it comes to how they treat their employees... or their customers, for that matter. It often feels like the focus is on cutting corners, slashing staff, and hoping you'll figure things out yourself. Because of that, I originally went into Lowe's just to browse, planning to take my business elsewhere and support a company that actually values its people. But then I met Carolanne Fontaine. She completely changed my experience. Carolanne is knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely invested in helping customers. She didn't just answer my questions--she took the time to find the best solutions, making what could have been a frustrating experience into an easy and even enjoyable one. She's the kind of employee every store should have but so few actually do. Because of her, I'm not just walking away with a good impression--I'm making a major purchase at Lowe's. Instead of buying my stackable washer & dryer, refrigerator, and stove elsewhere, I'll be buying them from Lowe's, all because of Carolanne. I'm sorry that there isn't a ZERO or a negative number option on the scale. I made the mistake of buying a washing machine here on June 29th. After three failed delivery attempts, I went to the store to cancel my order. The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. After being in the store for an hour, I received a partial refund. Once I got home I realized that they had refunded the appliance price but not the extended warranty. I've called the help line who assured me that my issue would be resolved in 24 hours, but it has not. Currently I'm on "hold" on the phone for 15 minutes, hoping to speak to a store manager... If you need an appliance, go to Poirier. Superior service, and 1000% worth it! read more

I will never shop at Lowe's stores again. DO NOT SHOP THERE! They are the worst. I purchased items online in October that were supposed to arrive within two days. However, they were backordered. I said, "Okay, when can you get them?" They told me it would take about a week. I agreed. Some of the items arrived, but $500 worth of items did not. Then they kept delaying the remaining items, repeatedly putting them on hold and calling to say, "We still don't have them." After a long wait, I called to ask them to cancel the order. They said, "Okay," and confirmed it was canceled. By this time, 1.5 months had passed. Then I got an email saying the items were going to be delivered. At this point, I didn't need them anymore. I called to cancel again, which took three phone calls, constant transfers, and hang-ups. Finally, they told me some of the items had already been delivered, but they hadn't. I gave up and disputed the charge with my credit card company. Lowe's then told my credit card company that I came in person and picked up the items--which was completely false. This place is a joke. I have tried numerous times to get someone to answer the phone about an order I placed over 2weeks ago (which was promised to me within 12 days) and not one answer after 8 phone calls throughout the day. So lowes sent the wrong size cabinet AGAIN! Then the worker blamed ME and said I told her to order that size! Stated if I showed her a pictutre, which funny story, I did cause my husband laughed at me and said she only needs sizes. So I had no choice but to just order the 30inch sink... ! Lowes continues to disappoint. I have attempted to patronize Lowe's in hope that the first time was a fluke but NO. Lowe's has terrible policies that create more expense for customers. Synchrony runs Lowe's Advantage card accounts and they will reduce your available credit which causes interest rates to be higher and negatively affect your credit score. WATCH OUT . I popped by to make a copy of a key after a bad experience at Ace Hardware! I love the super convenient key maker - I was able to get in & out in less than 10 minutes. I appreciate that the machine has the capacity to accept payment - I've been to other stores and you had to hop into the long line to pay. $5 is a little expensive for 1 key but it's super convenient and you can save the key mold in their digital library. read more

Terrible customer service. I tried to return shades here that were cut incorrectly at another Lowe's earlier in the day. I had the receipt. They were marked by Lowe's with the measurements they were supposed to be cut to. There were 3 which were all short by about an inch. I obviously didn't measure three windows short by the same amount. They could have taken them back with a defective code or something. Instead they chose to make me drive 3 hours round trip back to the other Lowe's to maybe get it recut. I have never seen any retail person as petty and intentionally unhelpful as that customer service manager. To be like "This is a reasonable problem and I can take six seconds to fix it, but instead I am going to make you waste half a day." That's not something that a normal person does. Also, there is a law in Massachusetts that a retailer has to take back defective merchandise. The customer service manager said their policy is that you cannot return cut shades. A store can't just choose to have a policy that doesn't allow you to return things that don't work. That's obviously absurd. And if you read Massachusetts law it specifically says you can't do that. I was so mad I filed a complaint with the attorney general. I hope they get fined. read more

Came in on Sunday to get some wood cut apparently all their cutting machine are broken and nobody bothered to fix them for MONTHS!? We found the piece of wood that someone must've pre cut 9 ft and brought up to register. The wood mind you only comes in 8ft or 12 ft and yet we still paid for 3ft we never got. Came in tonight for paint waited for 20 minutes for the guy to show up mind you I'm 6 months pregnant and my husbands standing on a sprained ankle. Along with 5 other people waiting. I never had much faith in Lowes but the lack of customer service is appalling! This place sucks especially when you see 5 employees walking around or sitting around talking. They sold us a defective Frigidaire fridge which never worked correctly. We bought the 5 year extended warranty which is pretty much a joke. They sent 2 different companies out to fix it who apparently didn't know what they were doing since the fridge still freezes up. I've lost thousands of dollars worth of food & the warranty only covers up to $300.00 which was very difficult to get. Today I had to go out and buy a new fridge since it's not worth the aggravation of dealing with the Lowe's home office. I purchased the new one from a small business in Norwood. read more

Employees are rude and full of attitudes. Items on the floor has no sticker for price. I waited 20mins at self checkout because none of the employees want to ring customer out. Mink the employee there didn't want to help. She saw a guy that was attempting to steal and proceed to let him walk out and then tried to make a big deal out of it. Had 4 other associates trying to see if he's outside...if he was there to steal, he would had been left. I asked her to enter the item number for me so I can checkout...she said she needs to call someone... I don't understand why she couldn't... But don't go here. Waste of time. I've had bad experiences there in the past, but lately they have gotten so much worse. You could say it's covid related but it's not. Covid just exposed how badly organized they are. On the store good luck finding anyone to help you.. At most you might find someone to tell you what isle has what you are looking for if they even know that. At other stores, the employee will walk you there and check and if it's not there, check with their walkie talkie and try to find what you are looking for. Not here. Their customer service was slow before and would give you horrible advice before (like one time I had to bring in a lawn mower for a warranty repair and called their desk and asked what I have to do when I bring it in, like entry oil etc, and they said nothing.. Just bring it in, then when I brought it they were arguing they couldn't take it cause it had oil in it. Yeah, that's why I called and asked!). But now I choose curbside pickup and when I got there I thought I'll just go quickly inside and get it. They had 6-7 people waiting on line and 1 line for customer service and pickup with 1 person working there. I decide I can't wait inside for so long cause I'm immunocompromised so I can't risk being in a store so long. It's risky enough going on there in the first place. So I go to the car to try the pickup with the numbered parking. 20-25 minutes trying to get someone to answer the phone and finally someone answered and takes down my order number and name and then asks the spot I'm in and hangs up. 15 minutes later no one had come out so I try to call them and check..5 minutes ringing and someone answered and said they didn't know anything or who picked up before.. They were on break and just picked up. Well I said it's there anyone there working and not on break and requested a manager and get transferred While I'm on hold I get a call and they finally have my order but say to drive to the exit to pick it up from them. Granted it was raining, but that's the job. That's why you have the numbered spots. I only shop from there if no other hardware store around me has what I need, but I think it's better to drive 20 more minutes further and avoid that store if possible. read more

The delivery service is horrible! Right now at 1:30 pm on 12/14 on website I see 'We are running a little behind. Should be arriving soon'. in reality my refrigerator planned to be delivered fro 7:30 to 11:30. i called to warehouse and they told me that a driver called me several times and I didn't answer and no delivery will be today. But i didn't get any voicemail and just one missing call and that call was dropped. I called immediately back and left several voicemails even wasn't sure that I'm calling to the driver. Now I was forced to reschedule , but I'm leaving for business trip and need to involve my friends to wait for delivery on 12/16. I'm very frustrated because I bought the refrigerator on Nov 27 with delivery date in 3 weeks (!!) on Dec 14. I took a day off and for nothing. Lowe's needs to improve communication style with customers. Today's situation shouldn't be tolerated. read more

DO NOT USE LOWE'S FOR A NEW KITCHEN. I cannot stress enough the poor workmanship and customer service we received from Lowes. The initial process and design went well. From there, it was a nightmare. It took forever for Lowes to give us a date of when they would come out. When they finally did come out, they sent out two of the worst contractors I have ever experienced. 1) To start, during the demolition of our cabinets specific items were torn out, and not replaced properly, that we did not expect to lose in our kitchen. To start, 2 junction boxes, that were located near our microwave and oven, were torn out and tossed outside in the trash. We had to locate them ourselves so they could be put back in. We were told by the installer company, very harshly, they do not replace any electrical work. If they had the ability to take out the junction boxes, why could they not put them back in. We had to pay an electrician, out of pocket, to replace them. They left a trash pile that sat on our front lawn for over 7 full days before being picked up. 2) As the installers were removing our sink, they forcibly removed, and cut up, all PVC piping. They then tossed all piping outside with the trash. When asked why they did this, they had no answer. We had to pay a plumber, out of pocket, to replace hot and cold-water piping to our sink. 3) During demolition, installers cut back trim of our flooring and forcibly removed some pieces. This caused warping of our floorboards. The floorboards that are close to the cabinets do not stay in place. Cutting back pieces was not necessary for the installation of the cabinets and we are unsure why they did this. 4) Installers did not follow any of the Lowes Kitchen layout that we put together with our Lowes Design consultant. This left a gap that we were told could not be fixed. 5) Lastly, the crown molding is not the original crown molding we received with our cabinet delivery. This is because the installers did not follow the kitchen layout we designed and did not measure properly. They installed the top cabinets too high, so the crown molding did not fit. The installer company left without any direction on how to proceed after that. After various phone calls, and 4 full months of waiting, we had different crown molding installed to fit. We wanted a partial refund due to the poor service, work, and long time frame. They gave us a $1K without reviewing anything and would not budge on this, no matter what. Even after we sent them all the information, they did not care. They basically threw it at us and said take it or leave it. Go anywhere but Lowes! read more

I love this Lowe's Store. First, let me preface with I'm reading the reviews - and most people today have no concern for the effects supply chain and covid have had on these businesses. Second, I'll add this is a great store. They typically have a better selection than my local Home Depot. And this store has parking for Vets, along with a published 10% discount for vets. I say published, because I have heard that 'Home Depot will match it', but I'm not looking to ASK for someone to have a program for me. So I drive an extra mile to buy here. I've shopped here over 50 times. The only bad experience recently was when I purchased an item online and it was at the store for pickup. The item at the store was already opened and parts were missing but they couldn't immediately process a 'return' for some reason? I had to do it through the app and come back the next day? I think this is an example of the new staff not knowing how to do things sometimes. Love the store layout and self checkout. I don't think you pay for bags here either. read more

I wouldn't recommend Lowe's for a cabinet installation based on my recent experience. It took over a year for them to finish our project from beginning to end due to their internal issues, poor communication, and hiring horribly inexperienced subcontractors. I'd give zero stars if I could. It was a complete dumpster fire from the beginning to the very end, including and especially with their Executive Customer Service team, who took five additional months to get us a completed kitchen. The incompetence is stunning. Don't make the same mistake we did. Go elsewhere for your home improvement needs. I purchased a dishwasher on line, on 8/31/22. When I purchased I paid for haul away, a 5 year warranty and I thought installation was part of the package since I was reminded that I needed certain parts to install which was added to my order. It was never explained anywhere that I had to also move the disconnected dishwasher to the center of the kitchen. I had it unhooked completely but I had trouble pulling it completely out. Three (3) men arrived dropped off the dishwasher and flatly refused to assist me in pulling the dishwasher completely out. They left the new dishwasher in the middle of the floor, forget to give me the additional parts I ordered. Thank goodness I remembered and asked them for them. I called the office to complain and received 3 different answers. Why couldn't they assist me? Why was it okay not to haul away the old dishwasher, that I paid to have removed. Were they supposed to hook up the new dishwasher? When I tried to activate my new 5 year warranty it didn't accept the reference number. When I called I was told that is the correct reference number, it should work. I am so very disappointed with this Lowe's services, this was the first and last time I order a big purchase item from Lowes. The delivery and customer service was was dreadful. read more

I wish I could give Lowe's zero stars. DO NOT PURCHASE HOME APPLIANCES FROM LOWES. My landlord ordered us a washing machine and the first delivery they went the wrong machine. They left our back door open and we have cats that could have run outside. We were told we needed to call Lowe's to tell them. It's unclear why the customer is responsible for resolving this problem but when we called back, "customer service" cared very little. We were supposed to receive a call back within a few minutes but did not. An hour later I called and asked to speak to the store manager. Instead I spoke to a sales representative at Dedham by the name of Jason who refused to even apologize for the mixup because it wasn't personally his fault. He then thought he was a real saint because he said he would make a note that the delivery people left our door open. Making a note of it seems like the decent basic minimum required in this situation. Jason tried to schedule delivery for Saturday but we told him we could only do Saturday if it was before noon since we had already taken off work for the first delivery that didn't come correct. Jason could not guarantee this. I called customer support the next morning and was able to schedule a delivery for Sunday (Easter) because it was the only day we could be sure we would be home even though it meant canceling Easter brunch with family. When the delivery arrived they knocked over a sign on our street (see pic below). We were soon notified that the machine was defective so again it could not be delivered. Even though we cancelled our Easter plans and took off work, Lowe's will not reschedule for same day delivery. They expect us to take off work again to work within their schedule even though there is no guarantee the right machine or a machine that is not defective will even be delivered. I have absolutely no confidence in Lowe's or their customer service. At the time of writing this we still have no machine. If you want to actually receive any large appliances that you order, I would literally choose anyone but Lowe's. Never again. Edit: I called back to reschedule for yet another day I could take off work and they told me they could do April 30th which is way too long to wait. I said that was unacceptable and they hung up on me. I called back and was informed my order was cancelled. I will be contacting the better business bureau. This is unacceptable. read more

Many staff members were not wearing masks. The hand sanitizer station was covered in bugs. Like, to get hand sanitizer you had to stick your hand into a container of flies. Disgusting. Update: Went back here because we had a gift card and it was worth it to give it another try. The place has gotten worse. I needed one specific item, and the Lowe's website offered the ability to order online and pick up in store. I placed and paid for my order, and received a confirmation email. That email told me I would receive another email when my order was ready for pickup. I waited until the next day and received no email, so I called the store. When I asked if my order was ready to pick up, I was asked if I'd received the email, and told, kind of snarkily, that I would receive an email when it was ready. The woman finally checked, and said, "You should have received an email. It's ready." Fine. That's why I called. I drove to the store and followed the gigantic sign that said "Pickups," which lead me to a desk that also said "Pickups." Nobody was there, so I waited. Finally a woman mosied out from the back, and told me that if I was picking up I should go to Customer Service. Fine. I waited in line in Customer Service for 10 minutes. When it was my turn, I told the woman I was picking up my order. "The guy who does that just walked away. Wait over there." There was nobody behind me in line, so she was doing nothing. Could she not have grabbed my item? The nice guy eventually returned and helped me. This whole process was inefficient and ridiculous. If the store is unable to fulfill the pickup of an online order, they shouldn't offer it. If the pickup counter isn't for Pickups, they shouldn't have a gigantic sign pointing there. If I call to say I didn't receive an email, take my word for it and help me. Never again. read more

This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I was hung up on like 5 times, no one seems to be actually working there. My wife and I were trying to return a fridge and every time I called I was put on hold or hung up on because they were too lazy to actually get the right person. We will never shop here again. I ordered a Bosch dishwasher (with delivery and installation) on December 12th. It was supposed to be put in in early January. By the end of January I had pages of notes full of traces of failed communications, misinformation, sunk time and energy trying to track down the machine and coordinate its installation. I just got handed around and around and nothing happened the way it was supposed to and nobody saw their job through successfully. There were so many individual and systemic failures. My notes include lines like, "CLEARLY THEY ARE TOTAL FAILURES AT COMMUNICATION AND RECORD-KEEPING AT LOWES," and, "I WANT MY TIME BACK." The whole thing was just awful. Never again, Lowes! read more

Ordered a fridge onlinemid pandemic that we had to return. The online order was fulfilled by Lowes Dedham. After getting the run-around, still don't have credit for my return over a month ago. The Lowes credit company gave us the runaroud when we called them. After trying to get in touch with a live person, the phone just rang and rang. If you want to speak to a live person, you have to go in person, which isn't very pandemic-friendly. You can even try hitting the buttons on the main menu to speak to another department, but nobody answers. I don't know why they even have a phone? Anyway, my return was picked up a month ago, I took a picture of the recepit but Im still paying interest on it. Anyway, lesson learned on this one, I hope you learn from my experience and stay away from this place. My situation is still not resolved. read more

Not happy with most of the sales personnel in the store. No one to be seen in most of the departments. The paint department is where you will find people. If they are in a good mood they may help. Cashiers are good, some times. I suggest having a professional carpenter, or painter or any other contractor go in for you! You could rob them blind with no staff. Home Depot is no better. read more

Had a washer delivered. The window was four hours. I got a call that morning that the window was now two hours earlier, starting in 30 minutes! I'd had plans to go out, thank goodness I was there. Then I got a call that the truck would be at my home in 35 minutes. The truck was late. The people who came wore no masks, were unhelpful and rude. This lowes location is pretty well maintained and staff have all been very willing to help with finding stuff or cutting stuff (lumber, pipes).They're super nice about offering samples (carpet, paint) About the Garden Center: I simply adore the variety of succulents they have here!!! The Lowes website really doesn't do this aspect any justice. If you search for succulents, you find these pictureless placeholders titled something really weird and vague like 14 oz succulent or something. As someone planning my own potted succulent gardens/terrariums I loved that they had individually potted cuttings and chicks. Each of the pots had a sticker and description of the plant and the smallest cuttings went for $2.98. My tip is that you have to go there just after they restock their cacti and succulents though. Unfortunately I have to complain about this, but Lowes doesn't seem to take care of their plants after they arrive. They literally sit on the shelves and are on their own. Some of the succulents I saw had the beginning signs of spider mite infestation (webs) and there were gnat fungus flies flying around the others. Which is really sad because they REALLY have such a nice selection over there. I almost brought home some burrito donkey tail succulents but they had webbing on them.. Sad. read more

Guess what the day of the delivery they CANCEL the order 2 hours before. How's that for a big "WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU" Tried to call the store to find out what's going on, get the run - around for over 30 minutes, then get disconnected. Try again, get thru to someone who advises the order was transferred to a "different store" and that we would now have to call THAT STORE for a delivery update. Call THAT STORE and can't get thru to ANYONE in delivery because it's 4:00 p.m. and they've left for the day. I just got a substantial order from Lowes Dedham that was delivered by truck in 2 days during the Covid-19. They did a super job. On the other hand, paying a bill on line is like hunting for toilet paper during a pandemic. One site is where you register your card, another site is where you pay, but it tells you it might not recognize your log in information. Huh?
