He actually disrupted the kitchen's order flow to move our pie to the front so we could make it to our event on time. It was one of the most thoughtful hospitality experiences I've had in a very long time. You can immediately understand why someone like that would earn recognition such as a James Beard Award. The pizza itself absolutely lived up to the kindness and care behind the service. We ordered the Hot Pop, and it was genuinely excellent. The crust was beautifully done--light, flavorful, and perfectly textured. One of my companions, who is French, even commented that it was one of the most authentic pizza crusts she'd had outside of Europe. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and high quality throughout. The hot honey paired perfectly with the pepperoni, and the cream cheese element worked far better than I would have expected, adding richness without overpowering the pie.
