As my friend and I were trying to decide whether we could realistically wait for a pizza, the owner overheard us and went completely out of his way to help. He actually disrupted the kitchen's order flow to move our pie to the front so we could make it to our event on time. It was one of the most thoughtful hospitality experiences I've had in a very long time. You can immediately understand why someone like that would earn recognition such as a James Beard Award. The pizza itself absolutely lived up to the kindness and care behind the service. We ordered the Hot Pop, and it was genuinely excellent. The crust was beautifully done--light, flavorful, and perfectly textured. One of my companions, who is French, even commented that it was one of the most authentic pizza crusts she'd had outside of Europe. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and high quality throughout. The hot honey paired perfectly with the pepperoni, and the cream cheese element worked far better than I would have expected, adding richness without overpowering the pie. Beyond the food itself, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and accessible in a way that made the entire experience memorable. Amazing pizza. It is legit so good. I admit since I don't live super close that sometimes I have to order from other places but any chance I get I try to grab Poppie's. There are other local places that just can't come close to this pizza. And even places I once swore by, have fallen by the wayside. This is always consistent. The dough, the sauce, the cheese and toppings are all on point. I wish much success and hope they don't ever compromise like others have since it is top notch. Poppy Pie's is located inside of what I call a food/entertainment hall. Nestled at the back under the stairs, it's a good place to grab some good pizza. Inside looks retro but the atmosphere is laid back. You order at the counter and they text you when the pizza I ready. The young lady at the counter was nice, as she answered my questions quickly and politely. That let me know she was invested in her job. Ordered the Neapolitan sausage pizza. At first glance, I thought they were stingy with the sausage but once butting into a slice, I tasted several pieces under the cheese and sauce. The crust was light and crispy and the sausage and sauce both had a chef's kiss. This is a spot for date night, friends hanging out or even solo. Worth a visit. read more

I believe we have a new pizza champ in the city. This pizza was absolutely DELICIOUS!The sauce was vibrant, savory, and just plain good. The cheese blend was cheesy and flavorful, and the pepperoni were crispy, tender, and absolutely mind blowing. I can't wait to try the other varieties of pizzas this restaurant offers but I can say with FULL confidence this is my new favorite pizza spot.
