    Mini Wedge Salad

We love coming Aplós at the Renaissance! On our visit yesterday, at lunch, we had the grilled chicken wrap, a pita mozz, the mini wedge salad, and an order of Greek fries. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious! The servers were all very polite and attentive. The ambiance and decor inside is peaceful and relaxing, and it smells divine! I can't wait to go back!

i'm not sure why i enjoy eating here. i always think i'm going to enjoy it much more than i do. today i ordered the pita mozzarella, but it was never delivered to the table. i shared my mom's italian sausage pizza which was ok. my daughter had the grilled chicken plate. it looked just ok as well. the best part was enjoying the outside view. the friendly manager did apologize and take the pita off my ticket. i so want to enjoy this place, maybe i'm not ordering correctly!

The food was great. Milkshakes are interesting in a good way. The service was also great. It was a little hard finding a seat. Staff could do a better job at cleaning and resetting the tables.

For most people this would be 5/5, but I rarely go that high. Wonderful food and fun play area for toddlers. Got pizza and burger and both were at least 8/10. Highly recommend to anyone wanting something new.

We took a group from the office for lunch today. There were 6 of us and the food & service was great. I had the Greek salad with chicken shawarma & it was delicious. Others had pizza, rice bowls & hummus & everyone really enjoyed it.

From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. You can show up wearing anything from your Sunday best to your comfiest kicks and still blend in seamlessly during lunch hours. I head over to the carry-out counter, ready to feast, when suddenly, I spot the bar area. Without skipping a beat, I pivot to the bar. First up, the Spicy Paloma. It's like a taste explosion in the best possible way! Seriously, it deserves the FYE stamp of approval (that's "fire" for those not fluent in southern twang ). Then, I take a sip of the Strawberry Ginger Mojito, and my taste buds are in for a wild ride. Refreshing? It's like summer in a glass. I'm halfway tempted to pull out my seersucker suit! The real MVP, the Greek wings. They looked good enough to make your mouth water, but they tasted even better! The hint of Parmesan took them to a whole new level. Overall, this place knocked it out of the park. Great vibes, FYE drinks, and food that'll make your taste buds happy. The service was A1 from the carry out counter to the bar. Can't wait to come back for round two!

Food was really good as always They messed up our order, but made it beyond right It is slightly above average noise level, but good enough that you can carry on a good conversation

Great Legos on display, a cool "game" vibe, and very friendly staff. The food was also really good. The chili cheese tots were excellent. The tots were crispy and the chili and cheese were delicious. My chicken sandwich on Texas toast was also very good. The pickles they put on this sandwich, along with the garlic mayo, really add great flavor, and the toast was buttered and perfectly toasted. The pizza was good and you can add extra pepperonis if you want, for $1. They have tons of board games and card games and even a few video games for people to play. They host gaming nights, apparently, which is cool. The service was also really good. They asked if we wanted water to go, and without asking, they brought a small to-go cup of lemons, since we had lemon with the water we had with our food. A very nice touch. It's an interesting place in the middle of Mississippi that is worth stopping at if you're passing through around lunch time.

While doing so I stumbled across this location and decided to give it a try. I was amused by all the nerdy decor so I decided to nerd out and have dinner while watching Star Trek. My waiter explain the menu to me when I told him it was my first visit and offered good suggestions on items I should try. He informed me that they have various nights where they have board games, movies, and other activities. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and pretzel bites. The food came out in a timely manner and was well prepared at a great temperature. Although the coleslaw was bland, you can tell it was freshly made. The pulled pork was a good portion and flavorful while the pretzel bites were fluffy and salty just like you would want them. As to my old fashioned, it tasted good, but they didn't include the traditional cherry for the old fashioned. I enjoyed this experience and the next time I'm in town I will visit for sure.

Summer, the waitress/bartender was so attentive but more importantly very skilled at making an exceptional old fashion. Every sip was a reminder of southern comfort. Warm like grandma and stern like grandpa. (The block ice is optional so request as needed). The oysters were the star of the show. My first bite tasted like a pleasant memory of New Orleans. Consider this a buttery Bayou banger. Don't be shy, squeeze that lemon and dip that bread and leave nothing behind. The south west chicken salad is not to be slept on! I had a pretty big lunch so I wanted something light, but still packed a flavor punch. Boy was I knocked off my feet! The heirloom tomatoes, fresh avocado and homemade chipotle ranch took me from Louisiana to Mexico quicker than any plane could. I could not wait to share what was shared with me! I took my walk back down the street feeling gleeful and ready to brag. I received this recommendation from a local Mississippian and I couldn't be more happy with my decision. In fact, initially I felt bad about hitching a ride with my colleagues and later ditching them (they went to another spot up the street) until I was given every reason to be proud of stepping foot in The Manship.

We had already tried a few other restaurants nearby, but because we were in a rush, no one was really able to accommodate us in time. As my friend and I were trying to decide whether we could realistically wait for a pizza, the owner overheard us and went completely out of his way to help. He actually disrupted the kitchen's order flow to move our pie to the front so we could make it to our event on time. It was one of the most thoughtful hospitality experiences I've had in a very long time. You can immediately understand why someone like that would earn recognition such as a James Beard Award. The pizza itself absolutely lived up to the kindness and care behind the service. We ordered the Hot Pop, and it was genuinely excellent. The crust was beautifully done--light, flavorful, and perfectly textured. One of my companions, who is French, even commented that it was one of the most authentic pizza crusts she'd had outside of Europe. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and high quality throughout. The hot honey paired perfectly with the pepperoni, and the cream cheese element worked far better than I would have expected, adding richness without overpowering the pie. Beyond the food itself, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and accessible in a way that made the entire experience memorable. Overall, Poppy Pies delivered not only one of the best meals I had during my trip through Mississippi, but also one of the kindest examples of hospitality I've experienced in a long time. That thick, golden crust has the perfect balance of crisp edges and soft, airy chew in the middle. You can tell it is baked with intention. The cheese caramelizes along the sides, the sauce is bright without being overpowering, and every bite feels indulgent without tipping into heavy. It is hearty, comforting, and incredibly satisfying. Then there is the cheese bread, which deserves its own applause. Warm, gooey, and unapologetically cheesy, it hits that ideal sweet spot between pillowy dough and rich melted cheese. It is the kind of thing you plan to take home leftovers of and then mysteriously finish in the car. What really seals the deal, though, is the customer service. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy you are there. Orders come out with care, questions are answered with enthusiasm, and the whole experience feels relaxed and neighborly. You never feel rushed, just well taken care of. Poppy Pies fits Fondren perfectly. It is cozy, confident, and clearly made with love. Whether you are there for a full pizza night with the family or just grabbing cheese bread to treat yourself, it is absolutely worth the stop and very easy to crave again.
