So I ordered a gyro with only meat, raw feta & raw onions. Z sauce on the side and a cottage fry. The girl on the phone repeated my order back correctly. I get here and check the sandwich it is NOT correct. Instead of fixing it the THREE girls at the Togo station tell me my sandwich was correct (it was NOT). I then stop them and ask for a manager several times. Instead of just getting the manager one of the girls goes back and acts like I am a Karen!!!! Then after walking over by the bakery display and asking a kitchen staff employee for the manager. One of the girls say and I quote "she is trying to come back into the kitchen". I replied that I was NOT trying to enter the kitchen just talk to a manager. Then the manager comes over and I tell him MY sandwich was only supposed to have meat, raw feta & raw onion. Then while he was fixing the sandwich I walked back over to the Togo station. Where TWO of the girls were just leaning on the counter. I asked to pay for my ticket. Boy was that apparently a BIG mistake!!! One of the girls starts in about was she really supposed to take my money!!! While rolling her eyes and jerking her head!!! Finally the manager comes up with the sandwich and I explain apparently I wasn't allowed to pay my ticket!!! He finally took my money!!! Now I have been a loyal customer of Keifer's since their ORIGINAL location!!! But I was severely disappointed in the service I received tonight and will HEAVILY be rethinking my patronage of the Keifer's restaurants if this is how I am now treated!!!! read more

Keifer's - Always a Favorite One of my wife's very favorite spots for Mediterranean-style gyros, Keifer's was my go-to for lunch today. We've been coming here for many years and have never had a bad experience -- though sometimes the servers can get busy and a little slow to check in, it's never been a dealbreaker. I especially like the gyro salad, which always comes piled high with plenty of lettuce and generous portions of gyro meat -- honestly enough to make two meals. My wife always goes for the classic gyro with extra tzatziki sauce, which she loves. Today, I had the gyro with cottage fries, and as always, it hit the spot. The cottage fries are one of my favorite sides -- thick slabs of sliced potato cooked just long enough to be tender but still hold their shape. Simple, hearty, and satisfying. read more

Where's the meat? 35 year customer and sadly reporting that everything has declined. Food quality and service has consistently dropped. Jackson has lost so many legendary restaurants and this will soon join the ranks of history. read more

not sure why Keifer's isn't scored higher on the rating scale?? to me the food is consistently great, service is friendly and attentive and the prices can't be beat. you have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. i would like to see a few more choices for sides. the cottage fries they offer are my least favorite item. the pita mozzarella is one of my favorites and after 3 on tuesdays and thursdays is half price. read more

We are an occasional customer at Madison Keifer's. Restaurant is large and roomy inside with plentiful seating. Clean, quiet and comfortable with an enclosed patio that is air conditioned and heated. Waitstaff are friendly and attentive but not pushy. Food is fresh,tasty and plentiful. Keifer's is a Long time Jackson area favorite and now with this Madison location safe to visit. Parking is plentiful and well lit for a night time visit. This is a really nice Greek/Mediterranean food restaurant and we recommend you give them a try ! read more

I was excited to try this place! My excitement was short lived... SEASONING PEOPLE!! can we have some salt and pepper on the food? Gyro sandwich tasted like beef jerky, chicken tasted plain and boring. And these potato things.... WTH? Take a giant potato, slice it and deep fry it. No seasoning and didn't even bother to make sure the pieces weren't stuck together. Pretty gross and not even crispy :( I'll stick with FILOs! Keiffers has some things to work on before I come back here. Server was nice... patio with A/C was nice, food bombed. Oh, and the olives have pits so watch your teeth! read more

If you have even the slightest experience with Mediterranean food then the offerings here are not what you're expecting. The hummus, falafel, and gyro are just...Mississippized. We probably won't return intentionally. We have friends that don't know any better who like this food so we'll probably join them to socialize if they prefer it. The young girl serving us was obviously new at this. Very pushy and rushing us. You'd think if they could afford such a nice building that they could afford experienced servers. read more

New location SUCKS. Placed a to go order, person taking my order told me 10 minutes and here I am 30 minutes later still waiting on the food. The staff couldn't care less. Last time I'll come to this location. If I were you, I would stay away also. Edit: they never sent the order back to the kitchen. 40 minutes in and they are just now figuring this out. I asked 3 separate times if someone could check on my order and the girls up front told me "they were making it". that's BS. Lied to my face. Total time 45 minutes for a to go order. read more

Our waiter was okay, but the kitchen was so rude. We asked to change our gyro, shrimp to Chicken, and the kitchen was very loud talking rudely about my table. The other wait staff and cashiers stared at us as well. Keifer's was a great lunch dining experience. This is my 3rd time coming for lunch. The parking lot looks crowded, but there is plenty of room at the restaurant. Parking lot should be expanded (7/10). The hostess at the front was super friendly and asked if I wanted inside or outside dining(10/10). I chose outdoor due to the inside being a little congested. Although it was hot outside, it was very cool on the outdoor covered patio area. There are multiple ceiling fans that keep it very cool and pleasant and there are heaters for the winter time (10/10). My waitress was super friendly and courteous(10/10). I asked about any specials and/or recommendations. Today I opted for the shrimp salad which is similar the tuna salad. It was very delicious similar to what I make at home. It came out with pita bread and was served on a fresh bed of lettuce with tomato, pickle, and lemon wedge. It was very light but filling. I also got the fried potato and it was delicious. Overall the food is fresh, well prepared, and lightly seasoned (10/10). I feel as though the food prices were great for the quality of food that I received (10/10). It is a nice environment for lunch, family, or date. I will definitely be back. read more
