I was drawn to this restaurant because I wanted a vegan dish and Jackson and surrounding suburbs had so few options. The vegetable dishes at Picadilly and othe restaurants all cook their vegetables in chicken stock or with beef or pork. So they weren't options. I had my meal to go. I had the hummus dish with cucumbers. The hummus dish at Krilakis was the best hummus I've ever eaten. And I do not say that lightly because I've been eating hummus for 2 decades from a variety of different restaurants in different cities and states. This hummus was thick and had a wonderful taste to it. It's hard to describe. I wish I could. And it went very well with the cucumbers. It was a meal in and of itself. .. Krilakis is a great restaurant that has a cool enough vibe and ambiance. The staff was friendly and made pleasant small talk with me after my meal. I went with the gyro combination platter and while the gyro was definitely enjoyable, let me take a moment to rave about their french fries. The french fries had a nice crisp other outside and pillowy on the inside. The gyro was also pretty excellent, as well. I could see that parking could be a bit of an issue, but I was fortunate enough that I found no issue getting a parking spot. Parking is on the street and this restaurant is in the downtown area. All in all, I would definitely recommend this particular restaurant. Krilakis is a great option and they definitely put an effort in giving a quality product. Ambiance is fine/clean while certainly not elegant but it's not that kind of place. Adequate seating, not loud, staff are friendly but it's a counter order restaurant. We love this place. The chicken anything is great. I normally get one of the pita wraps with fries and a drink. Kind of messy but I have them cut in half so it's a little easier to handle. I've been going to krilakis for maybe about 8 years and I can honestly say they never disappoint. The food is very tasty/flavorful and I love the atmosphere. They have inside and outside seating (I personally love the outside because the inside can get a little loud with other patrons around but it's no biggie). The fries are perfectly seasoned with salt (not too much tho) and they're always fresh, same with the gyro. If I were you I'd get the sauce on the side just to make it a little cleaner to eat, especially if you're taking it to go, that way it won't get soggy. If you're ever in the ridgeland area this is DEFINITELY a place you should stop by and give a try. read more

This place came recommended by my sibling who took me out to eat here. The cashier was super friendly and gave recs along the way. She never rushed us and I felt we could take our time. The wait time was average but what stunned me was the portion size of the lamb gyros. THEY WERE HUGE. Easily two meals. They packed in the meat in our gyros which is much appreciated. I was happy I hadn't ordered a side of fries. I did end up having a few of my sibling's fries and they were nice and hot but standard. We shared an appetizer of falafels which were really nice. My sibling also ordered a baklava dessert and compared to the gyros was expensive for its size and only 'ok'. Easily the least recommended item. When I typed in lunch on Apple Maps during my lunch break to have something different to eat, this was the first result that came up. The service was great, friendly, and had my food ready in five minutes. I was full after only eating some of my gyro and fries and made great leftovers. The atmosphere was neat and actually has a historical point behind it where the train would use to pull under where the restaurant is currently located. It should have a historical marker where more people can learn about the history before the restaurant came along. I learned this story from a coworker after I told her about where I ate at. Offers outdoor seating and indoor as well. They also clean the grill if you tell them you have a seafood allergy. Reasonable prices and even better if you have cash on hand for a cash discount. Krilakis has some of the best food in this area! Their gyros are delicious. Their burger and fries are far better than many burger places we have around here. Their salads are also very generous and fresh. The restaurant is cute and conveniently located with a little bit of outdoor seating. Wish they had a larger parking lot. The staff is so lovely and they make an effort to get to know their customers. There are always enough staff members to handle the clientele and the owner is often around as well. If you haven't had Greek food before, go with the chicken gyro with hand-cut fries and a drink. It's grilled chicken on a pita with homemade sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The cooks have no issues with modifications - I dislike tomatoes and they're never bothered by me requesting they not be included. There are also options for kids!
