I normally don't do reviews but I wouldn't recommend this place. I purchased some curly fries and a Gyro. The curly fries had hairs on it that looks like pubic hairs. At first I thought it was a hair from my beard so I didn't give it any thought, and I started to eat the Gyro it was loaded with meats and vegetables. It was really good and halfway through eating the gyro I found something that looks like a hair, so I pulled it out and it turned out to be the antenna of a roach this immediately grossed me out and wanted to puke. I would not return to this place again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

I ordered the Bay Ridge BBQ with half rice/ half onion rings, with mushrooms and onions. The wait was very short, and the first bite was delicious! I was super excited to find a halal spot in Arlington on my quick visit. Inside looks super cool and the prices aren't too bad. I got the Manhattan Mix Plate and my sister got the Jackson Heights Platter. Both were pretty good. Not super overwhelming. The Falafel in my opinion was a bit soapy tasting, but that could just be a personal preference to more spices. Overall, not too bad, just not super mind blowing. read more

I've been going here semi-regularly since about 2019. A friend from school introduced me and since she did it has become one of my local faves. Anything you order here is great. I usually go for the Manhattan Mix plate and get everything on it. They have deals occasionally and the fastest way right now to get service during COVID and post COVID is to order through an app or their little self-help kiosk inside. The flavors go together well and their tahini sauce is of course, amazing. I've never seen this place have a dull moment. Highly recommend. Not to be confused with the New York Mets (the best baseball team in NYC), New York Jets (the joint worst NFL team in New Jersey), New York Elks (actually they're deer but who's counting), and New York Ears (providing ear-jobs to horny folks at discount rates - extra charge for Staten Island Outcall). We wanted it to taste like the Halal Carts of New York City, specifically Sammy's or Zaiqa of Queens. It was a million miles away from that. Really really really disappointing. The product itself is more like a one or two star, but considering it's a family-owned place, and that some of the service was nice, I will stick with the three stars. Also the price is much higher than it would be in New York for a product that doesn't even come close. So honestly it's more of a 1 or 2 star place, bumped up (by me) because of the family business aspect. Not a fan of chains. I will say that this place is really making the effort to have New York style food, but unfortunately it doesn't taste like anything. The rice underneath was really bland and white and had no flavor - and the meat itself was somehow lacking in all flavour. I don't think it was even salty, which at the very least, crappy meat should be. The sauce all over it was just white and creamy and didn't really taste like anything (much like your boyfriend). So it was a pretty bad effort, and not to mention the fact that the price of this plate is about $2 more than you would pay in New York City - which makes no sense, since the cost of living in Dallas is much lower. The service was nice and there were plenty of places to sit, but trying to walk in here in high heels was an absolute nightmare. They were Gates along the sidewalk so that you can't even use the sidewalk to get to the door. Not a great idea for a place which is trying to serve late night food to clubgoers and party people. I mean, girls wear heels on nights out. So figure that out! Really bizarre but then so is what your mother did last night. read more

Agreed that the burgers are very good. The cheese fries are also excellent, they have that little spicy bite to them. As for the Halal, my favourite has to be the Manhattan player w/ curly fries, all the veg's, and medium spicy. So tasty and satisfying! It truly is that white sauce! read more

This establishment has gone DOWNHILL!! ( as of 12/3/2021). I will give zero star if it was an option--I don't know if they changed management or what, but it has not been the same in the past year. This is the second time they "forgot" to put falafel in my platters, not sure if they forgot or they have completely removed it off the platters, maybe update the menu if you have removed them permanently. It's not even worth ordering from here anymore, the portion size is always different, they add minimal meats and toppings so you pretty much just eating rice. Everything is bland and super greasy rice. Also, customer service is non existent, the cashier didn't acknowledge us when we greeted and thanked her. My food was cold. I got there 5 mins after I received the txt that it was being bagged. I got the Manhattan mixed plate. Idk what all the hype is about. There was hardly any meat, hardly any fries or veggies. The whole thing was basically flavorless. To this date this has been the WORST service I've seen in a restaurant. I had an appalling experience at New York Eats with my family. A plate we ordered reeked and tasted of expired food. When we brought this to their attention, they refused to acknowledge it and declined to offer a refund. Mind that we spent over $100+, and they couldn't even refund one plate. The Food was not to my or my guests expectations. My guest meal was to hot spicy wise, she asked for mild flavor and could not eat her meal. The fries had a power seasoning that did not taste good. That in itself has been two meals wasted. I ordered a Gyro which lacked meat and other ingredients to taste like a Gyro, I was not pleased and there goes another meal wasted. Overall the taste of our meals were unappealing. The Service, where to start! First the menu was very confusing for a first timers, but I noticed the regulars had no problem which I guess they must order the same meal regularly. Sorry to say but everyone in my group had a hard time understanding the cashier as he spoke very low with a heavy accent. The Ambiance was poor, the place had flies, the tables were not cleaned as I had to clean ours myself. Very dingy looking place. Bf and I came in here for lunch the other day. Super on a whim decision but it was a great choice! If you've ever been to NYC and inevitably had the famous Halal guys stand, this would be the closest thing you could get around here. They have platters, burgers, and gyros. I got their most popular platter (1 on the menu) and I kept eating past the point of being full to hating myself because it was SO GOOD. Bf got the BBQ version and that was decent but mine was still better. Service was quick and food was fantastic. Came here around 11:20 pm on a Friday night. There were a handful of customers inside and they started to put the chairs up and more guests came in after me. Guess they discouraged people from eating inside even though they're open until 12. This place is tucked into a shopping strip not too far from Cooper st. I came in and stared at the menu and then opted for the Manhattan plate. Which is I assume was their top selling item. It comes with chicken, gyro, falafel, rice, lettuce your choice of veggies and I asked for curly fries but they gave me pita instead. Ah well. I'm sure at the end of the night, they're bout ready to call it so they just give you whatever they feel like lol. So basically, I'm saying, don't come towards the end of the night. For the food, they gave me some extra red and extra white sauce in my to go bag. Heck yeah!! I ended up just eating it in my car cause I didn't want to wait the 30 minute drive home to eat. The food was delicious. Rice was done right and the meats were good though I wish there was more meat in the plate. The falafels were crisp and strangely addicting. I used to love this place, but be it COVID or something else, the quality has really gone down. First off, my order was completely wrong. Half lettuce and half rice does not mean 10 small pieces of lettuce. Everything else in my order was hapazardly thrown together. They also forgot an item and when I called in they couldn't offer me a refund instead I could make a 30 minutes drive there and back to pick up my cheese fries or come in anytime the manager is there. At least one of the cooks in the back was not wearing his mask and the cashier was barely wearing his. The cashier's nose was completely exposed and every time he spoke you could see his mouth peek from under his mask. The cashier also skipped over me and took care of multiple other customers before rudely addressing me. And he would also rub his nose with his hand. Gross. Again, the quality of this place has really dropped. I don't seeyself coming here again any time soon. read more

I've been eyeing this place for a while and finally tried it out today. I was pleased to see the that they had bottled Fanta and coke from Mexico , awesome! Employees are alright but food was brought to the wrong table and when correct order was finally brought out was lukewarm and did not taste "freshly made" First time visiting Dallas and I don't think I'll be coming back to this particular location. Spoke to the general manager who seemed already visibly irritated to talk to a paying customer. The only compensation for the mistake was to pack our food to push us out of the store faster. Foundation is cracking and has a large dip in bathroom with no warning sign leading up which is a safety hazard as well. Overall not a great experience at all. read more

Let me begin this review by noting it saddens me to have to write it as I was here for this locations launch day In 2014. I have been coming here at least once a month for 5 years and had to stop coming here 2019 as I moved away for a short while. Move back in 2020 and and the shell of the restaurant is still here, but the passion has long left. I gave NY Eats two attempts upon my return. January of 2020 and May of 2020 both of which were beyond disappointing. Both times the restaurant looked unsanitary, you could see the chick-peas in the kitchen being surrounded by flies, no greetings upon entering, and their cook was vaping inside the building. The second time I was asking for help from an employee (she was in the kitchen as they have implemented a touch based ordering system to help prevent the spread of infection, good idea). Something was glitching on the system and I was going to ask she take the order manually. She ignored my calls for help three times so I just walked out and left. To summarize: unsanitary conditions and poor customer service. Now only 10 minutes away is Halal Guys. I came here today after being rejected by NY Eats, as described earlier. It is clean, well priced, and great quality standards; everything NY Eats was in 2014-2016. Your money is much better spent at Halal Guys than NY Eats at this poi read more

New York Eats is a great new place to eat in Arlington, TX they have a unique style of food. The food is based on street cart food that you get in New York City. The menu is small and simple you can get a platter which is a bowl with your choice of Gyro, Chicken, or no meat Falafel all served over rice. And you get a small salad in the bowl also. The food is all topped with some delicious sauce a creamy white and a spicy red sauce not sure the name. I get the combo chicken and gyro meat it is wonderful. They have extra bottles of the sauce to put on your food. The menu also has wraps and burgers. The platters or bowls of food cost 6.99 and you get plenty of food you will be full afterwards. The location of New York Eats is next to UTA on a side street across from the UTA parking lot. So if you go at class change time the traffic can be heavy but it is not that bad. Restaurant is very small a few tables and a TV. Order at the counter and they bring the food out very fresh made to order. They only have canned or bottle drinks. The guys that run the place are very nice and will give you good customer service. Once again the food is very good and unique I love it. read more
