    Steak and Potatoes

We decided to pop in even after reading the reviews since we figured it would be a hit or miss. I would say it was a miss. Reviews were right. First impressions of the atmosphere was quiet and not busy at all and outdated. I ordered an orange juice which was not great and sour. If you know Minute Maid from a fountain machine, it's not great. Menu was enormous in choices so I wanted to select something super simple - I went with a plate of French toast deluxe. We order silver pancakes for our kids and everything seemed like frozen food but reheated. Tasteless and bland. Our order came through and you can see the pictures. Two big slices of tasteless French toast pieces along with a heated up sausage circle, ham, and bacon. Potatoes we're fresh but again bland. It just was so bland. Overall, server was nice. But everything else fell short and met the bare minimum of a restaurant. So if you're contemplating.. choose another location, you'll probably get some more taste and flavor somewhere else. Bathrooms are decent, if you just need a place to really go and watered down soap to clean your hands.

    You're here.

My favorite place for breakfast when I'm at the beach. New York Diner delivers every time, but I do order the same thing when I go there. Take that into consideration. I know they serve lunch also, but I've never eaten lunch there. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I ordered one egg over easy, corned beef hash and grits. So many people don't like grits but you have to know how to fix them up southern style. Add butter and lots of sugar into the grits and they are delicious. However, don't do this if you have shrimp and grits. My egg was beautiful and I wished I had gotten two. Mike got poached eggs and wished they had been a little runnier. I love their corned beef hash. If you're in the area, stop by. I am definitely coming back.

This place is right on. The diner has ample parking so no trouble finding the place and parking. Also, place is very clean and organized. The owner is always there. Great food and awesome service.

    Soggy Monte Cristo

My hubby and I drive by here many times and decided to give it a try for lunch. We arrived at about 1:15 and the place only had 1 other table. They close at 2:00, so I thought we have plenty if time. We ordered the Monte Cristo and a Philly Panini. They Philly Panini was pita bread that was put briefly on the grill to get the grill marks. If you are going to say you have Panini on the menu, they should be made with a panini maker. Had a little meat and was served with an ice cream scoop of a yellow blob of something. Next, the Monte Cristo. The sandwich was soggy, it was so disgusting. It had 1 piece of ham and cheese. It should be crispy not soggy. This also came with the yellow blob of what was supposed to be potato salad. I have never tasted something like this before and not sure how to describe it besides yellow blob of nasty. Now I know why there was only 1 table there. Also, when I asked the waitress for the check she gave it to me and stood there waiting for me to give her the money. Maybe she was new and didn't realize that it was a rude thing to do. All in all, won't ever be back and DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Hot turkey sandwich with french fries, cranberry sauce and green beans.

The pita was fluffy and that added touch of being warmed took it to a new level. The gyro slices were plentiful and seriously the best I've had. The sauce hands down devine! My sister ordered a side of potato salad that was off the chain too. Service was quick and the place is cozy. One of the ladies I was with ordered a dinner to go and they separated everything so she could warm up the pita when home later and didn't mix the toppings. This was so appreciated. If this place is a bit out of the way - drive there. You won't be disappointed.

I was lucky enough to go to Crete , Greece 4 times while in the military in the late 80's. I still haven't found that replacement , but I've come pretty close a couple times. The Chicken Kabob here was really good , thick flavorful pieces that were seasoned well on a wooden skewer. I would recommend getting these. The Beef and Lamb Gyro was large and full of meat , veggies , and sauce. The meat was decent , but I wasn't impressed by it. The sauce also was mid , could be thicker and more flavor. I got a sample of the Roasted Potatoes and I would recommend them. The Rice looked good , but I didn't try it. They have some desserts too. The Carrot Cake and Chocolate Cake were monsters ! If my son was here with me in Myrtle Beach I definitely would've gotten both. I think for most people they would be happy to have lunch or dinner here. $13.00 for a Gyro and $7.00 for a Chicken Kabob.

Now while vacationing in NC, I expected to find some damn fine barbecue, which I did two doors down from Meet the Greek at Heritage BBQ. But a place the serves solid Greek food, like lamb & beef gyro meat shaved off a spit!!! No way!! Friends let me tell you, most happily, I was wrong!!! Meet the Greek delivers fresh, hot, tasty Greek food in belly filling quantities!! I went with two friends and I ordered a large beef lamb gyro, a 4 piece order of Dolmas, stuffed grape leaves, and of course some Baklava for dessert. The gyro was massive, freshly cut lamb & beef with red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and a generous helping of fresh herbaceous Tzatziki sauce!! To say it hit the spot would be an understatement!! The Dolmas were also very fresh with perfect seasoned rice that has just been the right touch of mint. How one can feel so full yet pleased that it also felt like a healthy meal!! The Baklava, a dessert, paper thin filo pastry layered with chopped nuts and honey, even felt on the healthier side of things as I licked the sweet honey from my fingers and considered all the other carnival sweets I indulged in whilst on my beech vacation!! My one friend got a medium gyro and barely finished it, said he wanted to stop but it tasted too good not to finish it. My other friend chose a Caesar salad, not exactly Greek but she was delighted to find the Caesar dressing so fresh, cheesy, and creamy! Meet the Greek also offers not only a Greek Salad but an even more traditional Horiatiki or Village Salad featuring briny Kalamata Olives. This would have been the one for me had I not been so stuffed from my gyro & grape leaves! The restaurant itself is not large but is very clean with a nautical Greek village decor that only enhances your dining experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well. If you are new to Greek food or just looking for something different from beach vacation fare, I highly suggest you take the short ride and take a bite of some excellent and generously portioned Greek Treats!!! Your taste buds and belly will exclaim OPA!!!

The atmosphere is lively, colorful and the music is loud enough to drown out other tables and not inhibit our conversations!! We were a group of 5 people (we did make reservations). Our waiter Zeon was great, very attentive, friendly and informative, fully capable of answering all of our questions in regard to the menu items. He didn't hover but had impeccable timing to be there just when your drink was needing a refill. We started with 3 different appetizers to share and try different items. The Mediterranean sampler of hummus, tahini and baba ganoush served with warm dipping bread, the Jerusalem combo - falafel, meat kibbeh, vegetarian kibbeh, Moroccan beef cigars with tahini dipping sauce and last but not least, the Phyllo Rolls. Everything was a surprise to your tastebuds! Although pretty sure the warm bread with the Baba ganoush was the fav! Our meals consisted of Salmon Shish Kebab, Beef Shashlik, Chicken Shrish Tawook and Lamb chops. All meals were cooked to perfection and extremely flavorful & the Mediterranean salad was light and fresh (one of my favorites for sure). I would recommend Jerusalem over and over again & we will definitely be back again. Thank you for a wonderful & fun evening
