I am sad to hear that the original owners are no longer here, but my family and I will continue to support this business. Tapioca master has always been one of my favorite boba shops in Houston, and I almost always stop by when I'm in the area. The previous owners have always provided us with some of the best service we have ever received from any establishment. They're the only boba shop that I know of that offers samples of their drinks so you can try it before you order! I stopped by recently, and even though we didn't see our usual friendly faces, the drinks were still as amazing as ever. I hope you all give this place a chance whenever you're nearby. Let's be honest here: there are some serious problems in the Boba industry. This past week me and my friend decided to discover the best boba places in Houston, road tripping every day across the city in search of the perfect combination of milk, tea, and tapioca. Our standard: the milk green tea and milk black tea. "This seems pretty sketch" my companion said as we approached the blacked out windows of Tapioca Master. But we pressed on and found a charming little tea shop with comfortable leather couches and a collection of teapots on display. The boba you might ask? Excellent. Milk used to the perfect dilution while still retaining the rich intricacies of the respective green and black teas. The boba? Not too firm and not too squishy, a perfect consistency with enough being supplied in my drink to provide a delightful chew with every sip. This has been one of my favorite places to come to for a long time. Great tea and super nice employees. There Sandwiches are extremely good to and in no way overwhelming. The tea has so many diffrent options and theres samples right at the front and i encourage you to try as many as youd like because there are so many thing your going to find that taste extremely good. And of course everyone one has there specific ones that they enjoy. The best part is the tea and if you want a sandwhich are actually pretty cheap, you could enjoy both for less then $10 and i suggest you get both because it really is just that good. You can also ask to play a board game like checkers or most peoples favorites is Jenga of course. Always a great handout spot hands down. Everything was really yummy! Honestly the bubble waffle desserts were super sweet so yummy but wouldn't recommend for one person haha. We brought all of the food to a little park nearby and had a picnic! My favorite things were actually probably the savory things (chicken and waffle + bulgogi) and the drink (Pinacada smoothie) so I would probably get that if I went again. Yes, this placed deserves the hype! The menu is large and their drinks are fresh. The tapioca was the perfect consistency and texture. I ordered a mix of passion fruit and mango at 75% sweetness level. It was very tasty. I probably could have gone down to 50% sweetness level and been happy. My wife ordered the Thai iced tea and it was really good. One thing that was super helpful was the sample cups they have on ice. Came here to study and got matcha smoothie and Thai tea! You can now change your sugar level if you don't like it too sweet. They were both so delicious! The Thai tea to ice ratio is really nice. They fill their tea up then top it with ice. I love how they have samples for us to try. They pride on not using powder and brewing all of their teas. You can really taste the difference! I used to go here pretty frequently when i just moved into the Cypress TX area around 2015. This was actually one of the few places that we had at the time. Even now when there has been few more places that have opened up i still manage finding myself wanting to go here since their tapioca & teas is very consistent. I love this place because it's very cozy on the inside they have a bunch of nice teapots on display, comfortable couches with plenty regular seating & board games so perfect for studying or hanging out with some friends. All the staff is very friendly. The owners are super friendly & even remembered my name when i haven't been there ifor awhile. They have a good selection of drinks & if you are unsure they have sample cups on the front counter. Still not sure what drink you want? New to milk teas & tapioca? Go for the regular Black Cream Tea its pretty solid! Ive tried practically the whole entire menu of drinks & I've been hooked on the Oolong Tea on Ice, & Vietnamese Coffee on Ice. We just recently relocated to Houston 1 year ago and we are big on smoothies. We can tell the difference between good and ok. Since we've been in Houston for 1 year now we have gone to 9 different Smoothie / Bubble Tea Shops around the Houston area. Running into Tapioca Master was an accident. I get my eyebrows done 5 mins from Tapioca Master when I decided to do a Yelp search for a Bubble Tea Shop. Then Tapioca Master showed up with a Solid 5 Star Rating so i decided to go. First I'd like to say how wonderful it is to get greeted the minute you walk in. Second I have never been to a shop where they have small cup samples of different flavors they carry which was very helpful in taste testing. After discovering Tapioca Masters i hate to say my family goes there 2-3 times per week. After tasting their smoothies, they use real fruits which is a plus compare to other places which is artificial powder. The only downside to this is very addicting. But it's good...... read more

I dont understand why you can't adjust the sweetness level on the milk tea, You can't request to lessen the sugar level but to increase only. Why would i want my drink to be sweeter. Every where else will offer to remake the drink if the customer isn't satisfied but unfortunately they don't care whether you like your drink or not. Hubby ordered their special milk tea with boba and it was overly sweet, like no kidding, and it didn't taste like milk tea at all. it had a weird after taste I went up to the counter and ask if theres any way they can adjust it by adding more tea so its not as sweet, but they said they weren't able to do that, you can't adjust the sugar to be less sweet, but to only increase. Never in my life have i ever heard that before. But all I'm asking is for them to add a little tea to lessen the sweetness , but apparently the teas are pre-made so you're not able to adjust it. So that explains the after taste cause who knows how long its been sitting there in the fridge. We ended up tossing the drink after like 5 sips. Waste of money. The boba has a good consistency level, but no flavor. I don't understand how this place has a 5 star rating when the drinks are not good. this place reminds me of a quickly back in LA. After about a week of writing my first review, I came back to order the same taro smoothie and there was a big difference! In a good way of course. The taro flavor popped out more and definitely more flavorful! Thumbs up for that! I love also that the texture was more smoothie than that thick creamy texture and I really appreciated the effort. Buuut it was more on the watery side than smoothie. I see what you guys did and I feel very grateful. But it could get better and I know it will! I opted for the pina-colada flavor with half sugar as the sample was a bit sweet. I also elected to try the tapioca balls. Even though I am not a fan, the drink was spectacular. When this place first started moving in on the corner of Jones I was worried, because the end cap that it's on appeared cursed. Each business (mostly phone joints) kept going out. Coupled with the long time for them to open, I was worried that the curse would continue. However, now that it's open my concerns were quashed. While in the past there's been a few teahouses on this side of town, I don't think any of them really compare to Tapioca Master. The prices are just right, and the fact they have so many options and don't offer strictly milk tea and smoothie options is wonderful. The fact you can ask to add less sugar to your order is great and something I have yet to see anywhere else. The free samples each day are also a really nice touch and let you try some of the menu. The interior is a wonderful set up, and a very nice atmosphere. On my first visit was VERY impressed with the cashier and how helpful everyone was. On our second visit they were willing to customize our request for a honeydew milk tea (they don't have it on the menu, only honeydew on menu was a smoothie and we aren't big fans of smoothies) and let us order it. Personally I'm a big fan of their flavored teas. The peppermint green tea was great! If you come regularly they have a loyalty program that definitely is worth getting in on. I'm really happy to see this place crop up on my side of town, and close to home as well. I'm more than happy to support this local business and really hope they continue to maintain a wonderful reputation and stay in business. I wouldn't mind seeing more food options to accompany the tapioca drinks (they currently really only offer cookies and snacks such as chips) but for what it is I am a very satisfied, happy and loyal customer. read more
