The pho and bun bo hue is made very well. The pho in particular is rich in beefy flavor albeit I wish the meat wasn't cut so small. Even so, it is great comfort food. Came in here for some soup and boba. My son had the Pho and I had that Bun Bo Hue. I guess he was hungry because there was not a drop left in the bowl but let me tell you something about my soup, these people do not play! That thing was on fire! Spiciness level was above more than what you would get any place around Houston very flavorful and the way that I like it. The Vietnamese iced coffee was just as good as any other.. My FAV Bun Bo Hue spot!!! Moved to Cypress from Alief and im so glad I found this spot, makes me feel like I'm back in bellaire. Food is 10/10. Bbh always hits the spot. Upon walking in I was hit with an amazing aroma from the food and knew I was going to be for a treat. I ordered the bun bo hue and it was rich and complex is many ways. The dish came with a plate of veggies and I should've asked for more. I didn't eat the lettuce as it's not traditional for me. It comes with a small container of peppers and I will warn you....take it easy so with it. I have an extremely high tolerance for spice but these were potent. I regretted it later if you know what I mean but the dish was still amazing. They also had fresh gio cuon (Vietnamese spring rolls) that looked amazing that I'll probably try next time. We came to try the bun bo hue specifically because some friends recommended it. It's in the same strip mall as Viva, which is currently being repaired after having a fire. We got a small size for my wife and a regular size for me. I didn't know that the regular size was another places large size. I managed to eat almost all of it. The flavor is good with a good quantity of meat and pork knuckles. The veggies were fresh but needed a little more banana flower. My wife thought the soup could be hotter. It was probably around 165° f. She likes to make her own around 200° f when serving, so the veggies cook when added. All in all, the bun bo hue is tasty and well worth the price. read more

I came here on my way to another place in the area and saw they had sugarcane juice. It's typically hard to find sugarcane on the NW side of town, or any other side for that matter. Good sugarcane with no added ingredients other than ice. They were doing renovations at the time and building a bench in the main sitting area. When you go in you see an open minimalist modern decor with a bit of rustic farmhouse. There's room at the farm table and also some comfy chairs with coffee tables. Curiously the place opens up to a cabinet showroom (didn't ask!) The workers were enthusiastic about their drinks and foods, which was awesome to hear. I asked what was their favorites, so I tried their recommendation to get some Cafe Su Da (iced Vietnamese Coffee). We were able to customize with 2% milk and he warned it still has a strong bitter aftertaste, and I'm like yes! Bring it on. Overall the coffee was strong and bold, definitely a trademark bitter aftertaste but right on the money. My friend tried the Thai Tea, which he also suggested to add in a free topping of egg pudding. My friend has lived in Asia and has made his way to many a boba place, and he said it was among the better ones he's tried. I am looking forward to trying their fruit teas, smoothies, and taro milk tea. On the food side, they also have tonkatsu ramen, popcorn chicken, and a highly touted Teriyaki chicken bowl. I loved meeting the owner, Rainbow, and she was personable and very customer focused. I was impressed with her humility as she said she's always learning from her customers. Finally got to try this place out because my cousin liked it and told me that their milk tea was good. I got a green milk tea but I'm pretty sure they gave me a black milk tea instead. I could definitely taste the tea and the do make it fresh with a shaker so that was a nice touch. However, the drinks weigh in at $4.5 WITHOUT any toppings. My total was $4.87 and for a local subpar shop that's quite high. They also put too much ice. Once the ice melted, my drink tastes like nothing. I would have rather spent my money at tea top or share tea honestly but I was in the area and craving. Visited this place sometime a while back and didn't think much of it. Wasn't bad at all but didn't especially wow me. Decided to give it a try again today. This was some of the best drinks I've had in the city. Best on this side if town for sure. Love having a place closer that serves a good matcha strawberry latte (made with fresh strawberries too!) without having to drive over to Bellaire. I noticed some drinks on their menu like the Coco special that looks like it may have basil seed which I love so I'm looking forward to trying that one on my next visit. The kids got slushies and expressed how they really enjoyed them and they must have because they finished their drinks. That is something that rarely happens.
