Gave this place a second try today. Same problem. I ordered a passionfruit and dragonflies (2 flavors tea) since my first time here my drink tasted so watered down. Again my drink is very watery. I walk in an see adorable plushies for sale to greet the customers and homey atmosphere for anyone to sit down to either study or hang out with friends over a good game that is also provided by the cafe, there's a nice variety of table games. In the front of the cafe there is a chalkboard filled with messege and doodles- it makes the atmosphere much more welcoming. It was a very long wait for my food. I ordered 3 boba's. 1 popcorn chicken and 1 edamame. The popcorn chicken was so little for $5.50 and doesn't taste like the traditional Taiwanese popcorn chicken. When I walked in, I was not acknowledged or greeted. The server was busy making someone else's order so I spent some time deciding on what to order. I got the mangonada (without the stick and fruit vinegar) and sweet potato fries to go. The sweet potato fries weren't the same as the ones I have had before, they were soft and not crispy so I was underwhelmed. The mangonada was very delicious. This place has food on the menu, but never serves food. I called to specifically ask if they had food like chicken nuggets or anything to eat while drinking boba and they said yes they do. I go about an hour later and apparently one of the employees' shift just ended and since there's only one employee left they cannot serve food. They should of told me that they wouldn't serve food in the next hour when that's what i was specifically asking for. Traveled a hour and wanted tea well we walked in and there wasn't anyone ordering in front of us. After I checked out a couple more people ordered. There was 10 cups after my 2 and it took over 15 minutes from since I checked in on this app to get my tea and smoothie. The place smells and the furniture is really old and outdated some chairs move the couch are too low to the ground. Finally don't have to go all the way down to bellaire for some tapioca. Good environment: games, music, lots of table space/seating, AC, but still quiet enough to get some studying/work done if you catch them at the right time when they're not a lot of people. Good drinks: honestly, I'm not picky with my milk teas. As long as they're not too expensive and tastes good, I'll be happy. I've had their green milk tea, black milk tea, and their snow ice. The green milk tea had so much caffeine that I drank it around 7pm and couldn't go to sleep until like 4am! (I guess it'll be good for those people who need to study). Black milk tea tastes like the other black milk teas at other places and that's not a bad thing. The snow ice however, was a little too sweet with too much condensed milk. And not too many fresh toppings like the places in bellaire. Good food: I had the jalapeno chicken to-go recommended by the workers.
