I was so excited to see another decent place open up in my area; I had been waiting, so after work today I checked them out because me and my daughter love boba tea and banh mi sandwiches. Walking up, I can tell that they still need to add more window and wall decor but upon walking in, the green, yellow and bee motif is cute. It will be cuter when they're done. I ordered an orange sunset tea with boba, which has fresh oj in it, a citron honey tea with no sugar and jellies, and a mangonada for drinks. They were all good with fresh ingredients. For food, I ordered the beef banh mi with no jalapeño or cucumber. The eggrolls and the spring rolls with shrimp. The bahn mai had positive and negatives that can be fixed: meat was plentiful but overcooked; carrot and daichon were tasty but cut too thick; cilantro had too many stems. It was still a very tasty sandwich but with all the competition around, could be better. Bread was well toasted. Spring rolls were thin but very fresh and good; egg rolls were also good, and they tasted fresh. I will definitely be back and maybe they could add more honey themed items like cookies and desserts. Disappointing First Experience - Needs Improvement My girlfriend and I were excited to try this new boba shop, but unfortunately, our first visit left us quite disappointed. She ordered the Peach Yogurt Tea, which she enjoyed and said had a pleasant flavor balance. I, however, ordered my usual go-to: Brown Sugar Milk Tea--and that's where the experience fell short. The moment I received my drink, I noticed something was off. The color was unusually pale--far lighter than any brown sugar milk tea I've had elsewhere. Typically, this drink has a rich caramel-brown hue from the syrup, but this one looked almost like plain milk. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and took a sip. To my disappointment, the drink tasted overwhelmingly like plain milk with just a faint whisper of brown sugar. There was no discernible tea flavor at all. The only redeeming quality was the boba pearls, which had a nice chew and texture. Thinking it might have been a one-off mistake, I checked the reviews to see if anyone else had the same issue--and I wasn't alone. Others have noted similar complaints: watered-down flavor, an overly milky base, and a lack of the bold sweetness and depth brown sugar drinks are known for. This makes me wonder whether the staff might be undertrained in preparing these drinks, or if the shop is intentionally cutting back on flavoring or ingredients to reduce costs. Either way, it's something that urgently needs to be addressed. After looking back at the menu photos posted online, I realized the brown sugar milk tea in their own promotional image also appeared very pale--suggesting this isn't a mistake, but rather their standard preparation. If that's the case, I'd strongly urge them to reconsider the recipe. Brown sugar milk tea should not look--or taste--like plain milk with a bit of tapioca. It should be rich, sweet, and layered with a balance of tea and syrup. Right now, it feels like style over substance. I genuinely hope the owners take this feedback seriously. The shop has potential, but flavor quality and consistency are essential for success in such a competitive market. I got the Brown sugar boba which was pretty good. It was better than most places but not my top Brown sugar. The second drink was Kumquat Cane juice. It was pretty good. What I didn't like was the charge for extra topping or changes. I wanted less ice and it was a $1.00 charge. I know some places don't charge you. To add boba was 50cent or 75cent. On everything I love this place was straight buns. I got the Thai tea and it tasted burnt. They basically made the drink with their eyes closed. I asked if I could replace the drink and she said no. Sooo I don't know what drinks people ordered that apparently were so delicious that make this place a "MUST TRY", because they were pretty mediocre. We ordered 2 different drinks, a fruit tea and a mango milk tea, to try them out and both left us unimpressed. The fruit tea was the better of the two, but it had a slight artificial taste to it. The mango milk tea lacked mango flavoring. That was definitely more like iced milk with a sprinkle of mango? I was so excited to have a place to that was around the corner from where I live, but I'm ok I'll drive the extra minute to the other place. Looooved this place!! Although it's super far from where I lived I'd definitely make the drive down here because of the popcorn chicken and banh mi!! I haven tried everything yet but i definitely eventually will! And also really love the fruit teas, super refreshing and could tell they're using high quality/ fresh ingredients!! They also do lots of promos, saw a Valentine's Day one with a really cute free giveaway with flowers and things. Super sad I missed that, but I'd keep a look out on their instagram to check out when they have fun stuff like that at their store! First time checking out Busy Bee Boba and I can truly say this place has amazing drinks! For all the Vietnamese coffee lovers I'd definitely recommend this one! Strong coffee flavor , but balanced out very well to where it's not overpowering at all. I also recommend their Yorgurt series, any of their fruit flavors are a must try. read more
