One thing that I continuously fail to remember is how long the food takes to come to our table. However, one thing that sits ill with me is how some of the servers pass out their waters. They often times pass the water by holding the top of the glass- where we drink our water. Often times this isn't really an issue if given straws; however if they don't give you straws from the beginning, you have to wait for them to come by and request the straws. When trying to leave, you don't know who your server is, so you're trying to flag which ever server is close so that you can pay and get out. It was way different than pictures that other people posted. Other people had 2 pork skewers and 2 eggrolls cut in half (4 pieces of eggroll). I come here almost on a weekly basis. Came on a Thursday night and was slightly busy, I asked for water several times (it's usually given to you when you're seated) after asking numerous times for water, I still did not receive anything. I decided not leave a tip, which I always do but it did not seem necessary after not getting water after asking many times. I was followed outside by a gentleman demanding why I didn't tip and explained why I didn't. I've been here on several occasions and being Vietnamese I am a stickler.. but everytime I come their food is consistently fantastic. I overheard my waiter helping out a table near me with the menu items because they were unfamiliar with Vietnamese cuisine. They're so thoughtful and so kind here. All your food comes out piping hot. The bread they use is sooooo crispy and airy. It's perfect with the Bo Kho. It was rich, flavorful, and had tons of beef in it. The banh mi was good too. I'm not really a big fan of grilled pork but the flavor was very good and it was very filling. I've been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and this one is the only one I've been to that has Bo Ne (sizzling beef). Of course it comes out sizzling and steaming hot! Food is OK service is horrendous. Stopped here last night after work, and because I was tired and didn't feel like cooking I decided to buy to-go to take home. I usually don't tip for to-go orders, and everytime I do dine in I always tip 20%. Anyways, fast forward 30 minutes, my order comes out. They place it on the counter. I waited until one of the servers passed by me and asked him is that my order on the table? He goes and checks and says no. 15 minutes later and I see orders piling at the order table. I flag down another server and ask if my order is ready. Another 15 minutes pass and I ask again. Still no. I couldn't take it anymore and walked up to the counter, to where the person at cashier told me that my order has been ready. I'm pretty sure they did it to spite me out of tipping. Why would I tip for lousy service? Is it in the Pho guideline to treat all your customers like crap? I haven't been to a decent pho restaurant here with nice customer service. It's one thing to be a copy, it's another thing to innovate and do it well. And it's quite another thing to do something that's been done and not build or improve but simply do what other do. Pho is pho. The basic gist of it is generic in terms of ingredients. The broth has to be exactly made the way it's traditionally been made. Between the 5-6 hour boiling time, the clarity of the broth, the aromatics, the spice blend, the meats, the noodles, and the herbs needed to dress up the noodle soup dish are all basics. You can't really improve on it other than refine your techniques. Some places make it a stringent point to keep the broth clear of meat scum while others don't focus on that so much. That being said, Super Pho had moderately clear broth the time I went and that to me wasn't all that great but not so bad. I didn't get a whole lot of punch with the broth flavor as I would like it to have. It seemed lighter in flavor than most I know of which was a bit of a let down. Everything else is simply tried and true basics so they haven't really innovated the pho, considering that it's not something one CAN innovate since pho is super basic in terms of what goes into it and to mess with it might take away from the flavor but the lack of clarity in the broth was a bit disappointing. Considering how long it took and it wasn't made to order either since you can't really order pho fresh. Wasn't too impressed with the meat variance either. Every pho place I've been to thus far skimps on some of the meats and never provides a decent ratio of it. They play it safe and err more on providing flank or fatty brisket than tripe or tendon which I actually like more all things considered but there isn't an even distribution of meat, just more brisket or filet because most people like it where as if you're ordering the Pho Dac Biet, give me an even spread of the other bits as well since that's what I'm paying for. Super Pho's prices are something to note. Their Large size in terms of volume is comparable to other places. Normally, the XL isn't as extra and yet you're dropping anywhere from $12 to $15 not including tax and tip so for Super Pho's Large size which is the XL for other places and yet you're dropping $10.95 is such a good deal that I was impressed and moderately pleased with. The service wasn't bad but not stellar. The place wins on ambiance in terms of decor and environment. There is a green hint to the place with a waterfall type tank upon entry so it has a classier feel to it. Overall, this wasn't a bad place and for the price point, it's worth going to since they have such a large dining space you can bring 9 other friends to and simply enjoy a decent bowl of pho. There are definitely other places that bring out better quality pho in terms of flavor and broth clarity like Saigon Cafe or Pho House but the price of Super Pho is unbeatable. That extra dollar or so save is worth it for a decent bowl of pho and Super Pho saves you that dollar. read more

The Spring Rolls I ordered were forgotten until the end of my meal. I heard the table behind me questioning where their dishes were as well, the third person in their party was served first and the remaining items were very tardy. Highlight: I've been going to Pho Dai Loi nonstop like 8 times b/c I always crave Pho whenever I go back to Atlanta. Wanted to give my business to a new place and just ran a 5k so was feeling hungry. Needless to say, this place's pho kind of turned me off from pho for a while, which is strange considering that I love pho. The soup is not well developed, and half their menu isn't available after you spend time excitedly perusing their large menu. Staff was nice, but food had a commercialized and underdeveloped taste- not good chemistry in the flavors despite the exotic and promising names. We ordered the pho and I got the large b/c I was starving- I only finished 2/3 of it b/c really was not impressed by the broth. It seemed to have stewed 3 hours less than other pho places and so had an unripe flavor. It felt it was missing like 3 spices or something- maybe anise? It was broth alright, but I am not sure if I would have called it pho broth- tasted more like just beef broth- not pho broth. noodles were overcooked and became soggy fast- good pho should have that nice mild chew and yet light rice feel even when you're 15 mins in eating it. This was soggy immediately when it came to me. The beef was not a good cut- was a little tough and not the nice thin ribbons and softness that usually pho comes in (whether filet, flank, brisket)- whatever this meat was, it was none of the above. The Salmon noodles- this was a slight improvement from the pho that we ordered. Salmon was a little too fishy in my liking. felt like it was disparate. Soup was poured over the noodles and then they threw some cooked salmon on top. The salmon didn't get a taste to marinate in any flavor or the broth- so you had this very fish tasting salmon (question its freshness), a soup that was tom yum tasting, and egg noodles that had least maintained their quality compared to the pho that was disintegrated by the time it came to our table. Setting was ok, and staff was friendly enough. Interior is bright and clean and has themes of silver metalic with green and some funky artwork. They are connected to Jazen tea next door so you can order any teas from there- was alittle underwhelmed by the selections- also looked like a lot of fruity sugary water and flavors seemed very mass produced (strawberry, apple, tea, etc just all sounded very sugary and cool aid like). If you're looking for a pho place to go for lunch, prices are fair, but given the other selections here in Duluth like Pho Dai Loi, people who eat pho a lot, would be disappointed. If this is your first time, it is hard to say if you would love this place, but you would perhaps like pho in general. read more
