Stepan and his crew do excellent work. They work in a timely fashion. They complete work as promised. And they explain what they are doing and why. We hired New Pipe to re-plump our water line from the city into the home. They took extra care when digging so that our new landscaping was not affected. They did this big job in one day. We had them return to replace a number of faucet fixtures and drain pipes and re-do a vent line that was missing for the tub. New Pipe is a good value for all of your home plumbing needs. Our first experience with New Pipe in 2009 was good; they provided a competitive bid and seemed to do a good job replacing part of our sewer line and installing a cleanout. But they missed detecting a sewer break which we had to deal with in 2019 when we were selling our house. Also, the part they replaced had no access for inspection, something that should have been ensured when they replaced it. Stephan sent Phillip who suggested installing a new cleanout or replacing the one they installed 10 years earlier. He then scoped the line without asking for approval or discussing the cost. Phillip told me the charge would be $250 since he had inserted his scope and he offered to mark the location of the sewer line. I suggested a lower price since I had not asked him to do the scope, but he wouldn't budge. Had I known I would be charged I would at least have provided the coupon from their website for $50 off. Phillip did not scope beyond the sewer break when he should have scoped all the way to the city line. His intention might have been to benefit us and he did not mention anything negative on the scope recording making it untrustworthy. He refused to call it an 'inspection' rendering it useless. When Phillip had retracted the scope I reminded him about marking the sewer location. He made a passive-aggressive demonstration and started reinserting the scope. Fortunately my wife intervened and reassured him that since we wouldn't be needing a cleanout after all it was not necessary to mark the location. Our realtor made clear New Pipe's performance was not acceptable and tried to get them to return for a scope all the way to the city line. They refused and now I have a useless scope and I am $250 poorer. In conclusion, New Pipe are probably qualified to do sewer repair, but I would be very clear with them about what type of work is agreed and what the charge will be. In 2009 the crew including Stephan was very nice, but in 2019 not so much. read more

This never happens, so I must put the word out. An underground pipe burst at 11pm, flooding garage and neighbor's yard. I turned off water and called a plumber in my book (I'd used at a rental property). They answered at 11pm and said someone would call in the morning. Instead I immediately got a call back and an appt for 10am next morning. Stephan was terrific, gave me quote for $1,000 and ended up coming in UNDER budget (when does this happen?). Found a 2nd leak after 1st repair and didn't charge me extra. Had to come back 2 more times (allowing for pipes to dry and do concrete repair). Totally clear, courteous and efficient. Called this company, spoke to an operator, explained my plumbing issue in detail to her, arranged for one of their plumbers to meet me at my house between 1-3pm today. I waited around all day, no plumber, no call. At 3:15, I called to ask where the plumber was. The operator told me a plumber would call me back. Fifteen minutes later, he calls, claims that there was no record of me needing service today, then asks me to explain our plumbing problem to him again. I told him that I definitely scheduled the service for today and he said, "Oh. Then I guess it was someone's mistake. We can maybe send someone out tomorrow." I told him not to bother and that I'd seek out another company that actually cares enough about their potential customers to actually keep track of their scheduled appointments with them. I have called these guys two different times. They are great about scheduling and being on time. My plumber today, Jack, was going to be a little late and called to let me know. The first time, they gave us a free estimate because we found them on Yelp. It ended up being a small problem we could fix ourselves. The second time, Jack gave me a clear estimate on the job, then knocked off 10% because I found them here on Yelp. Once he pulled off the knob of our leaky faucet, he quickly saw that the problem was bigger than he thought. He showed me the issue, and let me know that the fix he was going to do would waste my time and money--it would just start again within a few showers. Jack was great--once I decided to call my landlord instead of the quick fix, he put everything back together, and charged me NOTHING. Call these guys for honest, helpful plumbers. B-E-W-A-R-E-! The most unprofessional people I have ever encountered. Stephan, the owner, barely speaks English, so beware of argumentative phone conversations... Everything started out great and professional seeming. They sent someone out right away, the issue was fixed the same day, fair price, etc. BUT next day the toilet seemed a little abnormal.. It was running continuously, even though it had never really done that prior to the service... ONE WEEK LATER, the toilet started clogging and overflowing out of nowhere!? The worst disaster a home can have is when sewage pipes break. Toilets, showers, sinks cannot drain unless there is a clear flow to the main sewage pipe. Nothing is more gross than raw sewage flooding up through toilets and flooding into the house. In my case, the toilet in the full bath caused a chain reaction so two toilets flooded up. I called a major name plumber (NOT New Pipe) who charged $1,250 to clean up and disinfect the bathrooms and snake out the toilets. The toilets were too clogged to be cleared. They charged $1,000 alone basically to mop and dry the floor and disinfect. They then discovered the iron casting pipe under the house leading to the outside was broken and leaking. To replace about 6 feet with ABS and to install an overflow "clean out"? $6,000 + That's when I decided to get another estimate. I called New Pipe. Although it was Sunday and his day off, Billy came out to survey my situation. Their estimate for the same work was $800. How can there possibly be such a discrepancy in price? Well, in case you haven't heard, there's a lot of corrupt contractors out there. See Adam Carolla's new show "Catch a Contractor" http://www.spike.com/shows/catch-a-contractor Upon further inspection using video cams snaked through pipes, Billy found two more pipe breaks. One in between the two toilets and one in the clay piping leading from the house, under the ground, to the main in the middle of the street. (the house was built in 1953 when they used clay pipes which roots can easily penetrate and destroy). A four foot trench needed to be dug in the middle of the front yard. Here it was discovered that my huge magnolia tree sent thick roots that grew to occupy the entire pipe. The only way to solve the problem was to hydro-jet the roots. Fortunately, New Pipe invested in this super hi-tech hydro-jet machine. Then another hi-tech service was able to drill and install new ABS pipe lining -- 40 feet altogether. The standard cost for this is in the thousands of dollars. I'd hate to imagine what the first plumbers would have charged. The bottom line is, Billy and his excellent crew were able to get this massive nightmare job done in two days -- a job, after reviewing standard plumbing rates for doing the same work -- would have cost over $14,000. I had no idea how expensive such a major plumbing repair could cost. But they worked with me, knowing i'd have to beg and borrow the money and go into debt and I was given a huge discount. I shutter to think what the first scammers would have charged me. On top of all that, the new toilet I purchased from Home Depot was defective and missing parts. Billy agreed to return when I exchanged it and replace it free of charge. I cannot express more how honest, how professional, how courteous and how reasonably priced New Pipe Plumbing is. If you find yourself reading this review you are probably in an emergency situation. That is where I found myself 2 weeks ago when my kitchen faucet decided to give up the ghost and drain itself all over my cabinet and floor. I called New-Pipe Plumbing & Rooter because my regular plumber was unavailable and also because of their close proximity to my home. They arrived 45 minutes after I called and saved the day. Ashot replaced my faucet (I happened to have a replacement on hand) within an hour. Both employees were very conscientious and polite. They even wear protective booties before entering your home. A real nice touch, especially if you have light colored rugs as we do. After a couple of days I noticed that our sprayer attachment had a slow drip. This was a manufacturer's defect as it turned out. I called and Ashot came out to take a look at it, fixed it and didn't charge me for his time. A real class act! Also, the price quoted to me before any work began, was the price charged upon completion. read more

RIP-OFF!!!! They came out to fix a simple valve leak and tried to charge my wife $750.00 for something that should take 10 min. to fix and cost $25.00 plus their service call. Of course she called me and I told her that was ridiculous. So they lowered the quote which was still way too much. They didn't have the right parts, so they had to go and come back 3 hours later. They fixed it, but when they did, the other valve stopped working. We won't call them again!! Beware of them charging too much!!! Use another plumber. read more

When operating commercial properties you want to make sure everything is working smoothly but of course that doesn't happen 100% of the time. When the water heaters stopped working in multiple units, whoever I called tried to schedule me for days out, even weeks. As soon as I got in touch with Peter at New Pipe Plumbing, he was already aware of what had happened and came prepared within 30 minutes of talking to him. They came out and inspected every unit to make sure there wasn't a bigger problem than what we were dealing with. Peter explained how we needed to get new heaters installed and estimated it would take about 3-5 days but the entire job took them about a day or 2. Everyone that came out to the units were very respectable and so friendly & that's huge when you're working with someone you've never met before. The new water heaters are all high quality & working better than ever thanks to Peter and his team. Normally, when people talk about plumbing they start talking about the nightmare and the bad experience they've had. I have used New Pipe plumbing for over 5 years. My neighbor recommended them when our water heater broke. They were professional and did the job. We replaced it with a tankless water heater. Last year our garbage disposal broke and we called them to come and fix it. It was the week of Father's Day and they seemed to be really busy but I told Stephan I can wait for them to fix it in a couple of days as I know they are reliable from my experience with them before. Stephan came to my house on Father's Day to replace them instead of celebrating the day with his family. I told him he didn't have to do that but he put my families need over his. Just called them last night to get a water pressure regulator replaced and Stephan called me back and told me that he will come by to see what the water pressure is in my street before he could give me a quote. Called me and told me the quote and in 2 hours Mary called me to see if I wanted them to come over in an hour. Vlesh ( I hope I didn't spell the name wrong) came and took care of the problems. He even took care of the clog we were having in our sink. He even reminded us of calling for service on our tankless water heater. He even worked around my schedule as I needed to pick up my kids from school and take them to their dentist appointment. I have never seen a plumbing company who put their customers needs first like they do. Professional, cost friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. we called new pipe for a drain cleaning, They arrived on time and notified us that the special for drain cleaning was only valid with a clean out pipe access, and we didn't have a cleanout access. Vresh explained how if we did a clean out install they would be able to charge me the special price anytime after. They did the work on the same day and were even able to preserve the grass and bush they removed. Overall very satisfied. Definitely ask for VRESH, he was fantastic and extremely professional and patiently answered my every question. . The worker Benny was really nice, clean, knowledgable and honest. However, this company sucks... I was going to buy a coupon on yelp and they said this coupon cant be used for this service im asking for. Then they quoted me $450 to do a job and said they'd give me $350 for being a yelp customer which is still DOUBLE what it should be. I just needed a new copper wire from teh sink to my fridge and the holes in teh wall are already there. Called someone else, got a quote for $125. This last time my water heater was leaking, within a matter of no time from calling new pipe, Victor shows up & resolves my leak issue at a reasonable price. We called New-Pipe because our toilets were clogged -up and needed a pipe-cleaning. They sent two trucks with two men for $55 to solve the problem. Their equipment was below par, did not have the experience and did not go far enough to the pipe to find the plugging. They called their supervisor and the supervisor wanted $750 at first and then reduced it to $650 to unplug with a different method., We did not use them and they left without helping us. We called Mike Diamond, they charged $99 and had the right equipment, went far enough to the clogg and unclogged the pipes. They would have not charged us if they could not fix it. Bottom line, use the right people for the right job and stay away fromn New-Pipe plumbing because they only try to sell you a more expensive fix! read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. Stephan was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I had a leak in my sink. They sent a technician out, Victor. He offered me a lower price if I paid him in cash (around $200). I did so, but the next day my faucet was leaking again. I called the company and reported this issue. Apparently this technician did this job behind the company's back. I spoke with the owner Stephan. He came out and examined the job that victor did. He told me he was going to fire Victor. He said he would come back and fix the job later. But then when I tried to get a hold of him the next day, he turned the entire situation around on me and said that I was to blame for "going behind the company's back." He was extremely unprofessional and yelled at me over the phone. He was a very unsophisticated individual and I never want to deal with him again. I am out $200 and they didn't fix a thing . On top of that, owner Stephan had the nerve to blame the situation on me. I had no idea that this Victor character would not tell his boss about the job on me house. I was only guilty of being naive. After the whole ordeal, i received several harassing phone calls from Victor- because he was fired. It was insane. Never use this company!!! read more

Awful! They sent a guy named Frank and he was the most unprofessional man I have ever met! When he first arrived he said he was down the street sitting in his car waiting for about an hour because he wanted to give me time.... I did not need time! I needed him to come in my house and fix our problem. He continued to go in circles, redundantly testing the same things. He then proceeded to say that he needed to leave and get more materials before he could come back and fix our issue. He left for over an hour and returned with no new materials! He said he had decided that there was too much traffic to get to the warehouse and back so he just didn't go! Did not fix anything after being at my home for 6 hours the first day. Left tubs of water that were leaking on my hardwood floor over night!!! Came back the second day and managed to arrive almost an hour late! He worked for about an hour and then said he had to go get more supplies... He had already been at my house for six hours the day before, he should have known what supplies he was going to need. After a few hours I started to get extremely frustrated and when I confronted him and asked him what was taking so long he simply rolled his eyes and walked away. I went back up to him and said I am going to go ahead and cal your boss and see if this should be taking so long because you have now managed to be at my home for two days and a total of 11 hours and nothing has improved. NOTHING! After that remark, instead of continuing to work and at a faster pace he managed to pack up his truck and refuse to work any longer. I called the company furious and they managed to send the owner of the company out to oversee the rest of the job. Within an hour of the boss showing up he had managed to complete the task he had said would take several more hours. The audacity of that man Frank though, so rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. If you choose to use this company do not use him. I had this issue on 4/20 so I can probably attribute him waiting in the car on the first day and leaving for over an hour to get "supplies" to him celebrating the holiday. Awful. read more

I have a home warranty so I'm constantly having plumbers come in and try to upsell me on this and that -- impossible to find one who is actually trustworthy. Yesterday, my water heater stopped working and I tried lighting the pilot several times to no avail (and it should be noted that this happened regularly a few months ago and one of those home warranty plumbers supposedly fixed the problem). Anyway, I checked on Yelp for a highly-rated plumber and found these guys, called them and they came within an hour (on a Saturday). Looked at the heater, got the pilot lit within a few minutes, and when asked how much I owe them they said this (you sitting down?): Nothing. I'm sure that's not the norm (don't expect them to not charge you!), but it was a refreshing change from the usual plumber "just for showing up" surcharge. Obviously, I'd use them again in a heartbeat (even if had to pay them!) read more

I just spent an entire afternoon waiting for New Pipe-Plumbing & Rooter. All I needed was a simple shower drain snake, something I've had done many times before. Over the phone they quoted a "fixed, flat price" of $55. A fair price for this service. The technician shows up and in less than a minute starts shaking his head. He begins to give me a long explanation of how this is not a simple job blah blah blah $55 was for simple job blah blah blah. Then he quotes $125. Again I've had this very drain, not to mention other drains, snaked many times. NO ONE has even attempted to charge over $100. The drain is completely accessible. So is the "clean-out". So is electricity. This is a clear Bait and Switch tactic. I told him to leave. He actually tried to write up an estimate. I told him not to bother, the company wasn't getting my business. EVER. I had a slight drip in the shower at my condo unit. As a conscientious citizen, I wanted to have the O-ring (washer) replaced professionally. I called New Pipe Plumbing from an online ad that promised a low price about $45. (Little did I know the price was for drain clearing only.) Victor arrived saying he was a "Master Plumber." He shut off the water to my unit and my neighbors. Victor checked inside the wall and said he could not replace the washer as the "seat" was cracked; he,d need to replace the valve. The cost, $1,000! I wanted a second opinion, but I didn't want to shut off the neighbors water again, so I agreed. (I got a 10% senior discount.) Victor was in the bathroom over TEN HOURS, sawing, soldering and banging, cutting out tiles, from 2:00 pm until past midnight. The bathroom was thick with fumes, smoke, debris and equipment. It was a nightmare. He covered the large hole with a single-handle chrome "beauty plate." The handle was extremely tight, with sharp edges, and painful to grip. (I asked Victor also to check the bathtub faucets as a preventive measure.He replaced the stems...for $225...and installed them upside-down!) Is this a "Master Plumber," or a Mastur*****? To his credit, the business' owner, Stefan, came and installed a smoother handle, at no charge. My cost --for what I thought would be three washers--was $1,453, (including a garbage disposal replacement). Was I had or not? You be the judge. We recently had a gas leak that could have been a disaster, and Phillip and his guys came and fixed it very professionally. While they were under the house they found a separate plumbing issue that they proceeded to propose a solution for and fix right away. We have always used New Pipe ever since they did our inspection before we purchased our house in 2006. They found some problems in the work the seller's plumbers had done, and not only did they win our confidence the sellers got rid of their plumber and started using New Pipe in their new home as well. The price was very reasonable and Billy took the time to explain to me (someone who knows very little about plumbing) everything that was wrong with our pipes and what he was doing about it. I have a home warranty that necessitates that I use the warranty plumber for issues covered by the warranty, but I have called them several times for feedback on issues that they were not going to do the work for. Amazing! This time I called on a Sunday night. I thought I would get v/m but someone picked up and was able to send a guy out the next day! They sent "Uresh" to check on my slow drain and he found that it was just the screen that needed to be cleaned out. He showed me hoe to do it, didn't charge me, and gave me an honest assessment of what needs to be done and also how soon. I would not think of using any other plumbing company but these guys.
