Coming in from a red eye, 8 minutes from the airport we arrived here at 6am starving. It is 24 hrs and quiet with 1 other patron inside. The waitress was quiet and nice and quickly brought us coffee and our orders. Good prices dinner food big portions and Philly cheesesteaks as well. They also have a big dessert area for your sweet tooth: The coffee was a little on the weak side for this caffeine addiction but it helped. All I can say positive is the servers were nice. Very attentive, pleasant, smiling, etc. At $35, this place was an absolute rip-off!!! I will start with, I've been to many a buffet over the years. What's the number one rule for buffet? Presentation! From the second we got inside I was already questioning my life's choice at that moment. But gave it a shot - I also didn't realize it was $35 a person until we got home - my spouse paid - or I would have demanded my money back. We were there at 6:30pm on a Friday, so basically still dinner time. Most of the food looked questionable. Definitely had not been tended to in quite awhile. The salad bar didn't look too bad, but after walking around the entire buffet, I definitely did NOT trust eating any of the crab or shrimp. Almost nothing was labeled so you had no clue what you were eating. Every piece of meat and fish was dry. There was a metal container in the buffet with brown gravy. It was literally a solid top from not being stirred. The mashed potatoes were dried out brownish and gross looking. Pizza was ice cold cardboard. EVERYTHING was loaded with salt - if u have high blood pressure, you may want to stay away - and I'm not exaggerating. Most of the food had way too many spices - not hot spicy, just A LOT of spice in everything. And I often eat Halal, Indian, Chinese, Thai, etc food so spice doesn't bother me - when it's used correctly. It just didn't taste good. It's been about an hour and a half since I ate and my mouth still tastes absolutely gross. The desserts are shoved in the old prep room from the original diner and it didn't look like we should have been in there. I will say the cheesecake cup was good. The rice pudding was "ok." Otherwise it was a bunch of canned fruit. They had Rainier cherries, which I was super excited about - till I realized they were all brown and bruised. Still gave them a shot. Nope. Gross. On one side, in the corner, there was a small buffet setup with no lights on so it was super dark. I think, it was brownies, two trays of some little cake squares, and some turnover things. After we ate we sat for a bit to let the spices settle, and watched, first some kids, I don't know if they were related to the owners or something, grabbing food off the buffet with their hands. Then at some point a worker was finally tending to the buffet food, no gloves, and my friend said they watched him rearrange the bins of chicken wings with his bare hands. Yeah. Philly Diner has introduced an all you can eat buffet. Our advice is don't waste your time or money. You are handed a plastic fork. We had to ask for a knife and napkins. They have crab legs. My wife asked for butter and was told to use the cocktail sauce. I believe this was the owner. We did get drawn butter, it was cold. The waitress did bring some to us and said she put it in the microwave. They have a salad bar, Mediterranean, Italian, Chinese and seafood. Mostly all the hot food was dried up from sitting out too long. They had chicken Parmesan which was hard and tough to cut. No cheese on it. The Philly cheesesteak is phenomenal. You have to try it. They have a senior menu, which was nice for my elderly parents who enjoyed a fantastic turkey sandwich. They said it was flavorful moist seasoned really well and it came with the salad bar, which has shrimp and chicken wings with it also so that's a great deal! My husband, who is a very big man also ordered the regular menu turkey sandwich and it was absolutely stuffed with meat. Great service and good quality food. I was staying at a hotel nearby visiting from out of town and came in for dinner and was really impressed. I had the salmon stuffed with crab and it was delicious with a very large portion. I picked a side of broccoli but it also came with the salad bar and soup. The salad bar had all the toppings for a regular salad plus potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw and some delicious banana bread. I was lucky I dinned in so I could get the full array they have to offer. So I ordered eggs with cheese, French fries and pancakes, the eggs had to much cheese on them but I was able to take it off, the pancakes where nasty but I was going to try and deal with it until a fly flew on them. The whole time we were there we had to swat this fly away. So when the waitress bought over the bill I told her what happened and so she said that she would take care of it. So when she came back she had the old bill and the new bill and she had only taken off $2.90, so when went to the front I asked to speak to a manager she said she was the only one there long story short she thought I was going to pay for the fly pancakes well guess what I didn't she's lucky we paid for anything. We're townie and we're looking forward to trying out the newly reopened diner. We ducked under the low hanging sign to go in and we're greeted by the very friendly male host. We sat down in one of the first booths closest to the door. The blonde female waitress saw us and went back to taking care of her table. Then she left. A few minutes later another server came out. Went back in the kitchen. 5 minutes later a different server came out, chatted with his table-also saw us, left again. The other male server came back out-saw us sitting there, and went and fixed a drink. My husband got up to use the restroom. Someone I can only assume is the manager is at the front with a server and we get up to leave. My husband says we're gonna go its clear you guys don't want to wait on us.
