The most traditional and, in my opinion, best spots will always have these as ingredient selections. I have been to Pho Philly twice now. Once to sit down with my friend Collin and another time to bring soup home for dinner for one evening when everyone couldn't decide on one place to order from, so I simply went and got what I wanted. In Delco, there is a lack of good Vietnamese. This IS changing, albeit slowly, and Pho Philly is close to home and is good enough. It's not what I would call spectacular and it is by no means bad in any way. Their broth is delicious and the noodles are long, and have just enough chew to them. Ingredients are very fresh and everything comes out fairly quickly and piping hot. Taking it home wasn't as great, but that's to be expected when taking a meal home that really should be eaten at the establishment. All in all, Pho Philly is a great place that is nearby for when I really want pho. They don't have tripe which is a let down, but will never keep me from ordering there. Their broth is tasty and seems to be made daily and the staff is nice and attentive in a neat space that looks like it was once an old diner. Their distribution channels are still rather meager, but Organon the health food store on Route 413, Wrightstown, PA, has a selection in their back room frozen foods department. I picked up the Vegetarian Vietnamese Pho and Roasted Butternut Squash to sample a couple of flavors I normally love. Each plastic package was 12 ounces, enough for one meal. Stovetop or microwave for a few minutes and recycle the sleeve container. I slurped the pho today after shoveling the heavy fresh wet white precip that fell from early this morning. While it lacked the rich spicy lemongrass base of long time pot simmered stock found in Pho 75 and other good VN restaurants, and the thick nest of noodles and fresh pinched Thai basil leaves, it was pretty good for what it was - healthy nearly instant soup with only wholesome ingredients. A squirt of Sriracha for an extra kick and it was bowl rim to lips; bottoms up! Who had time for a spoon? BowlFace! I'll be back here after trying the Butternut Squash, but wanted to review the Pho while it was still warming my stomach. Gotta say this is a bit of a homer epistle, as I am very happy that Newtown's entrepreneurial spirit is thriving even in the Age of Covid.

My favorite soups are the Thai Butternut and the Vietnamese Vegetable Pho. The Thai Butternut warms you up on a cold day with the ginger. The Pho is full of mushrooms and herbs. I wish they were available all year around. The good thing about the packaging is that it freezes well! So I recommend stocking up on your seasonal favorites. Besides soup, they offer dips and macaroni and cheese. And most recently they have added salad dressing. So far I have only tried the Pickle Sriracha Dip but I have the Buffalo Cauliflower Dip in my fridge. The Pickle Dip was amazing, I can't wait to grab some more next time I'm at Organnons.
