If you want really good American Chinese cuisine this is the place to come in this area. They serve a wide variety from sushi to pad Thai which they do very very well! I'm the fussiest person when it comes to fresh delicious food and this place doesn't disappoint. Only reason I did not give 5 star is you can not dine in, strictly takeout, real bummer.. but that parking lot would be overflowing if they did. The second reason is they need to perfect a real brown gravy for the egg fu yung, if they do that then it's a home run. Come on chef.. you're good but this needs addressing. I've been going to this place for year and have spoken very highly of it. Recommend it to everyone that listen until last Saturday. I had fly poop on my food. Yes Maggots!!! When I returned after driving for a half hour to get back with my ENTIRE order. I explained showed them pictures and proof. They couldn't make any logic of what we had brought to their attention. Instead of apologizing they became arrogant, combative and refused to acknowledge what we were showing them. Again me my family and friends and have been supporting this place for years. The food was always great, but this one time could have been resolved with some acknowledgment, appreciation for my long loyalty and RESPECT! Easily my favorite Chinese food in the Brooklyn area. It has never recovered from the pandemic in that it is still take out only, they have expressed a lack of staffing. The pricing is not skyrocketing like some other restaurants, which is a nice relief because you can still afford to eat here. Which, in my opinion, is exactly what everyone should be doing. In particular I'm a big fan of their yaki udon, both because it is very delicious and also it's not on many menus. read more

Unless you want to get parasites and possibly food poisoning and everything else because even if it appears out there he trust me it isn't I know people have gotten sick there and I won't eat there because of it because I've known several trusted people that have gotten sick after eating there. read more

We just stopped by today for some Chinese food for lunch. I ordered Sesame Chicken, and we have a big family so it was a big order to go. I've eaten in many Chinese restaurants, only to disappoint. Either too greasy, no flavor or mystery meat. New Ocean Palace has none of that. it is by far the BEST CHINESEIve ever eaten. Full of flavor, not greasy, and clearly the meat is as ordered. Also the prices are very fair. I can't say enough kind words for this delicious restaurant. I will be back for more food, and I live almost an hour away. read more

So much much better than the other Chinese Restaurant in Brooklyn Ct that we tried. First, the restaurant seemed clean. Food was good.... not great but I would definitely go back. My son had his normal Pu Pu Platter and he enjoyed it except 2 of 3 BBQ ribs were a little burnt. The one BBQ Rib I had was delicious. The Shrimp, Chicken fingers, Chicken wings & Egg Rolls were tasty. I had the Pork Egg Foo Young combo and the fried rice & Egg roll were good. Ordered General tso's chicken. Very good flavor but there was barely any chicken, just a lot of breading with some extremely chewy chicken? inside. Ordered eggrolls. ok at best. All wrapper with very little filling and a lot of grease. Spare ribs are good. Lots of flavor Pan fried dumplings are very good Hot and sour soup is good. Except they forgot my fried noodles to sprinkle on top. Ordered chicken teriyaki. Very interesting. I would have never know it was chicken unless you told me. I could have swore I was eating pork on a stick. Had good flavor but it was chewy and dry and looked nothing like chicken. I've orderd here many time and just wish they would step their game up. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I have been passing it for years and haven't given it a chance. There were a few tables full for lunch. I was happy to find a really great sushi lunch special ... 3 rolls with soup or salad for $10.... awesome. We tried the spicy tuna roll, spicy crunchy salmon roll, and California roll. We also got a special roll called the Phoenix roll. THE SUSHI WAS SO GOOD. Everything was fresh and crunchy where it was supposed to be. The sauce on the spicy rolls was extra spicy. The taste of the rolls were all phenomenal. I would absolutely recommend this place for Sushi and an affordable filling lunch read more

Despite the 25 minute wait for a walk in order... this place has very good and fresh sushi. Both the spicy tuna and Philadelphia rolls were excellent. The prices are fair, and the food is good, just call ahead so you don't have to wait. Haven't had the chinese food but that's a lot easier than sushi so I expect its also quite good. I used to like Ocean Palace. Years back my family and I went there and it was fresh and good quality. My father recently went to Ocean Palace and warned me not to go back. He said it had gone way downhill. I decided to go anyway with my boyfriend. I found out my dad was right. My boyfriend, Anthony, ordered Singapore Mei Fun, our favorite dish. He asked the waiter if he could have it without vegetables (a normal request he makes everywhere). The waiter snapped that they would not do that with a pretty good amount of attitude and disdain. Then he seemed to randomly back down and said he would ask the kitchen if it were possible, as if it somehow was an impossible task for them. By this point I jokingly told my boyfriend the waiter was racist (Anthony is black). At the beginning of the meal they give you these free crispy noodles to dip in duck sauce. Anthony really liked them. He asked the waiter if he could have another bowl after we finished the first one. The waiter immediately told us that he couldn't give us another free bowl and it would cost 50 cents, then left. My boyfriend told me that he would pay the 50 cents. I told him not to, because I felt the place didn't deserve any more of his money - even 50 cents - because they were so rude. Just today (a few months later) I went again with my mom. I asked for more of the crispy noodles as a mock experiment. The waiter gave us a weird wink and said he would get us more. I immediately texted my boyfriend to tell him. According to my mother (and I agree), the waiter had this "weird casualness about him like he didn't care about being" at the restaurant. We ordered our food. We received our two dishes promptly, but they had forgotten our soups, which most places would give you before the main dishes. They also gave us the wrong lo mein, but we didn't care enough to ask. It still sort of shocked me that we weren't given the correct food we ordered. My mother immediately said "This is super salty and greasy." I felt the vegetables were fresh and the meat was pretty good, in my opinion. But it was very salty and one dimensional. The saltiness was overpowering once in a while. While clearing our dishes, the waiter grabbed a spoon that he assumed was unused (for all he knew I touched that spoon or licked it clean or something) and tossed it into a drawer full of clean silverware. My mom said the place had "no class whatsover." Pretty weird that some customer is going to get that spoon and for all anyone knows I used it or dropped it on the floor... My mom said she will never be going back. I probably won't either. On the bright side, the fish in the entrance was huge and very adorable. I loved it. I hope he isn't too lonely. I don't like starting my meal with the thought in the back of my head that this might not be good. I, unfortunately, was correct. I walked in with my partner and noticed that there was only one waitress working the dining room, the entire dining room! We waited patiently to be seated while another couple came in, we waited patiently as they were seated before us! We ordered crab rangoon and fried calamari for our appetizers, crab rangoon tasted like it was filled mostly with cream and probably lacking of crab entirely. The fried calamari was, honestly, not what we had envisioned. It honestly looked like Cheetos fried in week old oil. (Our waitress was very nice about this and preemptively removed it from our bill). When I asked for a refill on my Coke I ended up waiting a while, too long for a refill, I think. She came back some 15 minutes later with a can. For our main course I ordered the vegetable roll and my partner ordered some other roll, can't remember. The main course was good, complimented with a salad and soup. Unfortunately they only provided chop sticks and and there was no silverware to be found. To conclude, I don't think I can find myself willingly coming back to this restaurant. read more

The place was empty and still service was terrible. The waitress did not bring noodles and sauce until I asked for it. My sushi rolls were served separately and about ten minutes apart. My waitress disappeared and never came back to ask how things were, did I need anything, etc. I placed my credit card on the table along with my empty dishes and another waitress walked past my table at least ten times during a 30 minute period. Still no sign of my waitress. Finally I asked the other waitress for my check. She said she had to go find my waitress because it was written Chinese and she couldn't read it. Another wait. While we are still on the search for that Perfect Chinese Food Restaurant - this place Definitely is a Keeper. They have the standard fare - the Pork Fried Rice is tasty, no carrots and peas which is always a good thing! Their Crab Rangoon are some of the best that I have ever had, and I make my own! They are not just cream cheese with a hint of crab - they are very flavorful!! The beef teriyaki are small but they have a great taste. Sadly the boneless ribs have either been too fatty or too burnt for us to get them anymore. (Skip the egg rolls!!) The General Tso's Chicken was acceptable - the second time around it was pretty darn good! But now the kicker for me is their Sushi -- for Sushi lovers, this place is a MUST!!! I have not had anything bad there. It might take awhile to get your order, but it is well worth the wait. One time, my husband was nearly done with his dinner before my roll arrived! But - the stuff is so good, I didn't care! The Crazy Spider Roll at $16.00 is a Meal for one at least. This thing is HUGE!! It is tempura soft shell crab, avocado, crab topped with BBQ Eel, avocado with spicy mayo sauce and crunchy topping. Trust me, when they put this down in front of you, you will not be disappointed! I do not usually eat large meals, and I am not sure if this thing is really meant for one person - but I managed to eat the whole thing because it was just so good. The Tiger Roll is $14.00 and you get 9 huge pieces. Its spicy tuna, avocado, crunchy top, Tuna, Salmon, white tuna, eel, red snapper, spicy mayo, eel sauce and wasabi sauce. Having learned my lesson now about their sushi rolls, I didn't order anything else that was just for me. I was able to finish the roll and have 1 crab rangoon - and then I rolled myself out of the restaurant. The sauces they use, the freshness of the fish, the unique combinations in the special rolls -- Oh it makes me want to go right now just thinking about it. If you love Sushi -- Go Here!!
