I ordered take out from here over this past weekend bc my usual go to was closed. I could end this review here by saying this is my new go to for Chinese food but what fun is that? I ordered roast pork fried rice and boneless spare ribs. Simple and delicious. I also got the edamame which came plain or possibly lightly salted - either way I put my roasted garlic blend on them at home. They seemed fresh and popped at the right time if you know what I mean. The rice wasn't full of the usual stuff you see in a lot of like foods around here. That stuck out to me. The boneless spare ribs weren't dripping in sauce which was nice. They also were also not dried out the next day for leftovers. I'd say this place is def worthy of the high reviews they've received lately! Lee's Stir Fry is one of those places that's so good, you wonder if you deserve it. It's the platonic ideal of a Chinese restaurant: fast, greasy, uncomplicated. Designed to be wolfed down over a bed of soft rice. The kind of place I THOUGHT I'd have no trouble finding in New York City, but which my husband and I actually make a special point of ordering from every time I come home to where I grew up. Vegetarian? Get the Szechuan bean curd. It's pillowy fried tofu in a spicy sauce, accompanied by all kinds of steamed vegetables. Their General Tso's tofu is generally the same thing, but no vegetables. I wish they had scallion pancakes, because I know they would kill those too. The veggie fried rice is great. My mom swears by the hot and sour soup and Mongolian beef. I have rated this place 5 stars in the past, but I notice a change in the last year, or so in quality and in service. I think they are getting too busy, and their children are involved, I ordered Broccoli and chicken what I always order when I got home with my food, I had some kind of fried pork dish. First time trying this restaurant based on other reviews I've read. Ordered hot and sour soup. barbecue spare ribs (bone), fried dumplings, chicken fingers, mu shu pork, beef with snow bean (peas), orange beef extra spicy and pork fried rice. Was surprised when they said everything would be ready in 15 minutes. Got to the restaurant and the order was ready for pickup. Very safe environment as there was plexi glass separating the lobby and the kitchen. One box to put your payment in and another where your order gets placed for pickup. There is no indoor dining. The food was very fresh and looked very appealing. The hot and sour soup was good, not the best I've had but a good contender. Plenty of tofu, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and other vegetables. Heat level was ok but could have been spicier. But would get it again for sure. The barbecued spare ribs were incredible! Large sized bones with plenty of meat and very juicy. Might be the winner of the dinner. Fried dumplings were good, nice amount of filling and fried perfectly. They were on the smaller size but the quantity was good. The chicken fingers were fried nicely with a good batter coating. Again nice and juicy and tender. The beef with snow bean also had carrots, onions, and other vegetables. The sauce was very flavorful and the beef was cut into large slices but was amazingly tender. The mu shu was another amazing dish. Everything was sliced very thin and there was plenty of pork, egg, mushrooms and a variety of vegetables, and a wonderful flavor of sesame oil. The pancakes were a little bit of a let down as they were paper thin and didn't really hold everything if you weren't going to eat it immediately. The dish was so good the pancakes aren't really needed. The orange chicken had large pieces of chicken, fried very nicely, and with a good coating of the orange sauce but more of the sauce would be a plus. Asked for extra spicy but really needs to be amped up for my liking. We enjoyed the full meal and have no problem ordering from Lee's again the next time we're in the mood. read more

My brother and I found this gem during a cross-country road trip. We drove a bit out of our way and it was so worth it. While we had hoped to be able to dine-in, the food we took back to our Airbnb was still tasty/warm after the 15 minute drive. Ordered the traditional New Year's Eve dinner from Lee's tonight. Barbecue spareribs, chicken fingers, potstickers, mu shu pork, beef w/broccoli, beef with snow peas extra spicy, and pork fried rice. Star of the night is always the ribs, cooked perfectly, plenty of meat on the bones and a terrific taste. Large order has plenty of ribs for two or three people as they are good sized robs. Potstickers are on the small side but the filling has a good pork flavor with garlic. Green onions, and ginger coming through. Hot and sour soup is loaded with tons of large cubes of tofu and plenty of vegetables. Not the best I've had but still had good flavor but lacking in a lot of spiciness. Chicken fingers are well fried and the batter wasn't overly heavy and were moist and tender. Mu shu pork was loaded with plenty of vegetables and pork. Flavor was good and the dish was well cooked, adding hoisin sauce enhanced the flavor. The pancakes, however, were rather disappointing and very difficult to get out of the plastic wrapper that they wrap them up in. Even though the dish is served using the pancake we didn't bother given the condition they were in after getting them out of the wrapper. And they were so thin I'm not sure they would have survived with any amount of filling in them. Beef w/broccoli had a great sauce with it and plenty of broccoli. Flavor was very good and the beef were very large pieces and was very tender. Beef with snow peas, like the above beef dish, was very tender and loaded with snow peas. Mixed in were large slices of carrot and onions. Sauce was good as well. But spicy it wasn't but it seems not many restaurants get the request for extra spicy as it's hard to find a restaurant that really hits the mark. Overall the food is very good, high quality, and well cooked. One of the best for take out food in the area so do recommend this business and we'll be ordering from them again in the future. There are two booths and chairs in the restaurant but it's not a sit down and be served place. And given how busy they were it was quite smoky in there with all the woks going at once. read more

For purposes of comparison, my "go to" is Peking House in Willimantic. We ordered Veg fried rice, chicken with broccoli, hot & sour soup and crab rangoon. The Veg fried rice was decent but with very few veggies. The chicken with broccoli was good but not better than average. The hot & sour soup was brothy rather than gelatinous which I like. But, it was rather bland. The crab rangoon was overly crisp and did not come with a sauce. The sauce at the Peking House is amazingly good. All in all the food was a bit boring. read more

Decent. Lunch special is $6.35 comes with a drink. Food is good and satisfying. Lady who took our order is very friendly, good customer service. Plenty of parking. If you're in the location it's a good choice. Most people do take out. There's a table there to eat but limited seating. I saw them picking and growing own vegetables which is pretty cool. read more

I was impressed on how hard this family worked to fill orders as I waited for mine, they must of filled at least 10 orders in 5 minutes with a smile and the food was excellent. Its rare these days to see people work with such a strong work ethics as this family. I hear too many times on how hard its to find work and how work sucks and is boring. Work is not meant to be fun, its meant to meet a need, rewarding in the results that are produced, that is why they call it work. I am also tired of hearing that foreigners are steeling our jobs. It's a tiny hole-in-the-wall with a picture menu overhead. I think there are a couple of small tables if, for some reason, you decide to dine in. Why you'd want to I don't know. They don't even bother turning up the heat in the winter (why bother when no one dines in, and the kitchen is supplying plenty of warmth for the husband/wife cooking team?). The food is fresh, hot and excellent. It's an unassuming storefront in a half-closed strip mall in the middle of Nowhere, Connecticut. All that aside, everything we have tried has been top shelf. Not fancy by any means, featuring all the standards (those bright-red rib things, Kung Poa, General Tso's, beef & broccoli, etc), but it's surprisingly good. I usually go for typical combination platters, just about everything is good but I usually go for spare ribs or General Tso's. This place is a hidden gem. The food doesn't simply rely on a ton of salt and fat for flavor, the cooks here really know how to bring out the flavor of the dishes. This is a humble Chinese restaurant looking that had good reviews and I said why not. I got the pot stickers, general tso's chicken, and the singapore mei fun. The location is pretty awful for the general public but if you're in the area and want Chinese you have to go here. As a local from CT that went away for college, I always make it a priority to stop at Lees when I come home. The chicken is always perfectly cooked (not too crispy or undercooked) and the pork fried rice is amazing.
