I give it a one star because the owner is a very rude and disrespectful man. My daughter ordered food and apparently the girl who took the order and wrote it down wrong, so I called back to tell them that the order was wrong and he was very very rude, loud and obnoxious. If you are in the restaurant business as I am and if a customer calls you to complain about an order what you should do is apologize and either refund their money or send them what they ordered, in this case the guy was rude, loud, told me I had to wait 40 minutes to receive what I originally ordered which actually I waited an hour but that was fine, and before I got a chance to say anything else he slammed the phone down and hung up on me. Is the food good yes it is, Will me or my family or friends be ordering from there anymore, absolutely positively not! All thanks to the rude owner. read more

The best Chinese food I have had in a long time. The people are friendly and the food is fresh, hot and delicious. It was Christmas Day and they were open. Seeing that we were visiting it was a great food find. I have the Shrimp Suchezuan ( not sure that's how to spell it) it was spicy shrimp with vegetables in a brown sauce. The menu is pretty standard for a Chinese place, but the quality of food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. The past 6 months have been awful due to Covid with so many people being out of a job including myself. Tonight I wanted to give my family a small treat by ordering take out and charging it on my card. To my surprise, when I arrived at New Man Hing I saw multiple signs saying that they now charge an extra 4% for credit cards. Thanks for nothing New Man Hing, it's bad enough so many of us are truly hurting, but you have to jam it just a little more. Excellent Chinese food in the area. Always order delivery and they have always gotten the orders correct. They are usually super busy in the evenings and deliveries take about 45 minutes on average, so get your orders in early. Their egg rolls and house special rice are great! Also, a fan of their boneless spare ribs, can't go wrong there. Reasonable prices and big portion sizes on every dish we've ordered. read more

This place is good. I waited a while for a simple order but the food was fresh and definitely higher quality than what I expected. The food nor the wait wasn't the issue. My problem with this place was that for at least half an hour, they let a large group of teenagers/young adults hang out in front that were causing trouble. This group was literally harassing people including myself as they tried to enter the place. It's a shame but because of this, I don't think I'll go back. New Man Hing is my go to Chinese food stop! I grew up in Kearny & always ordered from here via pick-up. The quality is always top notch, hot, fresh & delicious. I have enjoyed their wonton soup, chicken & broccolli in the white sauce, pork fried rice, chicken lomein, bbq spare ribs & beef on a stick (amazing flavor). I have been to dozens of Chinese restaurants in nearby NJ and this is the single greatest one there is. I've been going to New Man Hing for about 8 years now and it never lets me down. The white meat chicken is quality, with thin strips of chicken perfectly cooked, instead of super greasy, extra breaded fat-loaded pieces of some kind of chicken (hopefully). I got an order of crab rangoons also (these are both regular items of mine) And they are always perfect, and the order is quite generous. 2 combo platters and an order of rangoons for under $20 and it's some of the best takeout you can get. This is my default Chinese take out place. We've recently tried China Star, which is on par, and seems to sometimes use less oil in their cooking. I'm generally a fan of the fried rice, the egg plant in garlic sauce, and the sesame chicken. The fried dumplings are also not bad. The beef chow fun usually has too much oil in it for my tastes. That being said, I will note that the food can get pretty boring after ordering take-out so much. But they're cheap, consistent, and have not caused any problems. And they are open late! read more
