Don't ever come late to order food in person, they prioritize DoorDash, Grub-hub, UberEats over customers in person. Took over 40 minutes for my food to be ready. If you're looking for real chicken, let me save you the trouble: this is *not* the place. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce, and what showed up in my container looked like a science experiment gone wrong. Calling it "chicken" would be an insult to actual poultry everywhere -- it didn't even look like chicken, let alone taste like it. It was some mystery meat-mash, kind of like they put Play-Doh through a grinder and drenched it in sauce. Out of curiosity (and concern for my digestive system), I called the restaurant to ask what exactly they served me. Three different people answered, and *not one of them* could tell me what the "chicken" was made of. Imagine that -- a Chinese restaurant that can't identify the main ingredient in their own chicken dish. That's when I knew: whatever this "China Star" is serving, it's definitely not what they're advertising. If you enjoy eating mystery meat disguised in sauce, this might be your paradise. We were visiting my elderly parents and wanted to treat them to take out dinner. When the food was delivered the driver immediately apologized and told us the cover was loose on the egg foo young sauce and it had spilled all over the food in the bag. We literally had an I inch of sauce left in the container and we noticed it had been packed on the bottom of the bag and the cover was only partially closed. I called the restaurant twice to complain. The first time I was passed around 3 times to different, "managers". When I finally got to speak to someone, they said, oh we'll just remake the food that was ruined and Re deliver. When I gave him the address, he said, " that's too far"; odd since the first time it wasn't. So I asked for a refund on the ruined items. He promised to do that. I waited until 8:00 pm; no refund. Their BBQ spare rib tips are really good as are the egg rolls and shrimp toast (we usually get these every time we order). BEWARE!! Food was the poorest quality I've ever had. The fried rice had no taste, was soggy and grossly greasy. The French fries were soggy af too. The egg rolls were poorly constructed and literally had no meat in them. I've ordered from this place less and less over the past few years because the quality/taste of the food is never consistent. Went there a few days ago, to order take out, as I had to go next door to Walgreens to pick up a few things. I was standing there right by the counter for about 20 mins waiting to be asked how can I help you, 3 people answering phones and not one counter person acknowledge I was standing there, they looked at me half a dozen times but not one time did the ask if they could take my order. I understand they were busy, but they have very major customer service issues. So I finally decided to leave and go to walgreens, as I was walking over to walgreens I call them on the phone and they answered the phone and tooky order, and then tells me it will be about a half hour so I had to walk around walgreens for at least 10 mins and then sat in my car for the remainder of the time. I finally walk back in to get my food order, and there is no sence of organization in the place either, the lady in front of me picking up her own order gives her number and the counter person tells her ok its ready but wasn't that poor lady had to wait another 5 mins cause her food wasnt done cooking and bagged. I got to give my number to pick up order and as I am walking up to thw counter and one of those food delivery app drivers walks right through the door and cuts in front one and instead of the counter girl in this restaurant say you have to wait cause I was next she help him. All around the Chinese food is pretty good for the area, but the customer service skills are lacking big time. If you are that busy with taking phone orders and can not take counter orders then they should say so. It was 530pm when I got there and it was 730pm by the time I got home with my food. read more

Food borne illness can be deadly, and with the amount of reviews I've found claiming similar stories it scares me that they have not been shut down by the Health administration. It's weird to even say you're a fan of ANY local Chinese restaurant, considering the bad rap they get usually. This place is actually still skeevy looking, they speak just enough English and the delivery guy has extremely long pinky nails. The good thing is that their chicken and broccoli has some deliciously addictive sauce on it and their broccoli stays nice and crisp, unlike in most places where it's clearly frozen brocoli. They have good boneless spare ribs, I recommend the boneless ones over the ones with bone in them. You get a HUGE serving. Their shrimp friend rice and pork fried rice tastes nice and fresh each time as well. They take credit cards over the phone, which is a HUGE plus for someone like me that never has cash and their delivery doesn't take forever. I'm aggravated...I ordered from this place last week and when you order more than $20 you get a free can of soda or two depending on the amount spent. Last week I called them and informed them that they didn't send the sodas; they told us please call on your next order and we will send it to you.
