They have been very consistent with the order and how flavorful their ingredients and quality of the food or dish has been. That I had the pleasure in devouring for my consumption. I was looking through the menu and also wanted something that I normally don't get and this time I ordered kung pao chicken. I've been coming here since I was a child. They have never disappointed me! Food is always good, service is always fast and friendly!

Until today I was a regular customer. Food is good but inconsistent, SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Delivery minimum is $10 (stated on their website) and I never had an issue with that until today. I called to place an order for delivery and was told after providing my address that it would be a $20 minimum because of the distance. My address is 10 mins away from the restaurant, which I doubt anyone decided to look up before trying to overcharge me. I then tried to place my order online through their website which I usually do and my order was cancelled 15 mins later because of "distance". I called the restaurant again and asked to speak with a manager several times and was told she "doesn't know when he comes in". Her attitude was very nasty and dismissive, and I'm almost sure she's the one who cancelled my order. So don't waste your time, there's much better Chinese food in the area that's consistently good quality with MUCH better service :) read more

We've been trying to find a new go-to for Chinese take out ever since our favorite place closed a few years ago. Most of the local options (even the ones everyone raves about) are either bland or too expensive or just "eh". We heard about this place and gave it a try. Everything was very good. It's exactly what you're looking for when it comes to Chinese take out. Especial notes - the scallion pancakes were excellent (not everywhere has them, and they're not always great) and the Gen Tso's Chicken was good, with a little crisp in the chicken but not dry like some more $$ places. Hopefully, this will act as constructive criticism, as the staff is so nice but their food is so subpar. Shrimp and Lobster sauce was basically shrimp in egg water. Spare ribs were not terrible but we've had much much better. General Tso's shrimp were yellow and needed doctoring for flavor. Moo shu chicken was 99% cabbage. Shrimp toast wasn't bad but quite greasy. The standout however were the shrimp dumplings. they were awesome. If we could combine our 3-4 favorite dishes from 3-4 different places you'd have one heck of a chinese restaurant. read more

The price is amazing an the quality of food is excellent. I live in Verona and there is at least five other restaurants closer to this place and I go here every time I can. The chicken and broccoli is awesome. The sauce is a brownish red color just the way I like it The shrimp friend rice actually has shrimp in it. They make my husbands boneless spare ribs just the way he likes them. Not too much fat and VERY WELL DONE. When I call they already know for my house my hubby likes his ribs well done! When I first ordered from the restaurant they left half of our order behind and had to go back and get it. I give them one star for that effort. The next night we ordered from them again. An order of chicken egg foo young and house egg foo yong. They both looked like regular egg foo yong. The meat was literally diced into small tiny pieces and you had to "eat it," (as the lady described on the phone when we called to complain.) My experience with egg foo yong, especially house egg foo yong is that as soon as you see it, you can see the shrimp and the pork and the chicken without having to dissect your meal. Call to tell them that my food that was normally spicy was extremely spicy to the point where I couldn't eat it and asked if they could just exchange it and the boss told me that if I bring it back Then I can't order any more food because I've had too many complaints. His attitude was unnecessarily very nasty.. I explained to him I've been coming there for over 20 years and you guys have consistently got my order wrong and I have always been patient waiting for you guys as well. still giving tips etc...After this disrespect. I am done with them and just because He did that I think I will bring back the food and get my money back and not go there again. Nastiest Chinese food I've ever had!!! Food was bland and tasteless. Service even worse. I was rushed while ordering over the phone and before I could pay for my meal she hung up on me. Had a jones for Chinese last night, so called our always-reliable, long-term Chinese restaurant, Hunan House, in the basement of the A&P on Valley Road in Upper Montclair. Called the usual phone number and a young man answered. I said I's like to place an order for delivery and he asked whether I was calling Hunan House. Duh, yeah. He explained that Hunan House was his uncle's place and is now closed for business. His uncle transferred the phone number to him, but the young man promised expedited service. So I figured, OK, we'll give it a try. How bad could it be? I ordered the usual, including Hot and Sour and Moo Goo Gai Pan. He said they were on Bloomfield Avenue, but I'd have it in 35 minutes. OK, it was closer to 45 min, but Upper Montclair can remain a permanent mystery to downtowners, so we wait. The Hot and Sour soup was quite nice: not too vinegary, and had some carrots which gave it a little surprising edge. Very nice, and lots of fresh mushrooms. But the mushrooms were the problem with the MGGP. It was almost all mushrooms and no bok choi or any other crunchy veg and very slim on the bean pods. Sooo disappointing and not to our standards or taste. With the soup, they delivered bags of those crummy hard noodles, not the freshly-fried mai fun we have become used to. Mysteriously included with the delivery were two cans of Pepsi. Huh? I later learned, from reviewing the menu, that Jin Lin includes two sodas (or egg rolls) with every order of $20 or more. But, since we don't drink anything with high fructose corn syrup, these two cans of Pepsi are now in service as paper weights. It would have been nice to have been told that soda was included and asked what kind I'd like. This was all bad enough, but the experience was completely ruined when I discovered that NO FORTUNE COOKIES were in the delivery bag! This was dark and disturbing and bespeaks a complete lack of interest by Mr. Jin (or is it Mr. Lin?) in helping us to prepare for our futures ("Your chance of winning Powerball are nil. The driver called and said he was "outside". I thought it was strange that he didn't come up to the door so I had to put on my shoes and jacket go outside and meet him. As I'm putting on my shoes, he starts to honk frantically in my apartment parking lot, alarming all of my neighbors. The following week I placed an order again and no change. I got the same play doo rice, cold chicken and broccoli. I'm highly disappointed. The delivery guy was really rude and disrespectful.
