Final impression. So overall despite the damage to my property, I would say the quality of the work is good. However, the biggest issue remains the customer service issues. My project manager, Jared, had no idea what he was doing the majority of the time, or had any idea what was going on at my house. He told me multiple times the project would be done, despite the fact nothing had been done for several days. After talking to their subcontractor, apparently Jared is a common issue, and they said customers always complain about how little he does or knows about the project. As a side note, New Image does none of the landscaping themselves, and only dig and install pools, so if you hire them, they will always subcontract out any landscaping work. Bottom line, if you learn your project manager is Jared, request another one or don't sign the contract, unless it's a small job, which he is probably capable of handling. Would give them 3.5 stars due to the customer service issues, and would still use them again if I don't have to deal with Jared. read more

New Image has caused thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars of damage to our home that they have refused to fix after completing a pool remodel in 2022. This includes bad electrical work that has fried our pool pump, poor plumbing that have caused numerous leaks, improper diagnosis of leaks that have caused unnecessary concrete drilling to be done, and improperly done Pebbletec. We had to file a complaint against the ROC in order to hold them accountable for work completed. The work completed after the ROC complaint was shoddy and poorly done. We are still finding problems with their work that continue to cause damage to our home. When we've contacted them, we have been yelled at, then ignored, and they have showed up without notice only to yell at us in our own home. They are truly unpleasant people to work with who take no accountability for their work. Please, please do not work with them. read more

Unresponsive didn't complete our pool and ghosted us. Said they were waiting for a tool to repair and stopped responding to all calls and texts. Eventually we had to get repairs done by another company. Initial quote for our spool did not include heater, which we had requested. After we signed contract and gave initial deposit we were told it was missed. We were charged for extras that were never ordered, no prior notice was given before receipt of invoices which changed all the time. We had built a pool with new image prior when we dealt with Nick, it was excellent and seamless. New manager is not what she seems. Stay away! read more

Worst decision to go with this company. Complete lack of communication on their part and they subbed all of the work out anyhow. Owner Stacey told us to deal with the Sub contractor regarding scheduling bc in her words "I don't make their schedule". They were in a huge hurry to demo out pool then left it exposed for weeks when initially we were told it would take 3-5 days. Could not get a return phone call from them so communicated with subcontractors. They messed up refilling the pool so it left cracks in the pool and the color is not what we selected We have been trying to get them to fix it since Oct 2020 and they keep making excuses as to why they never show up or call. Every answer is "we will get out there next week" then they never show. Finally got the New Image owner Dave on the phone and when my wife answers he starts yelling at her that she went behind his back to work with the subcontractors. When she interrupted him to tell him that Stacey told her to do that, he told her to "shut up and let me finish". He must have said shut up to her at least 3 times then told her that she can't file a complaint bc its illegal for her to do so. I wish we had investigated this company more bc they have several BBB complaints but my wife trusted Stacey bc our kids go to a Christian school together. Lesson learned. Thousands of dollars out and still do not have our pool fixed. Last we spoke, Dave said he would have someone out "next week". I highly doubt that. He is incredibly rude and disrespectful. No customer service and no regard for quality work. You are better off setting your money on fire. 2/25 - They came out last week to "fix" the pool by dumping a bunch of chemicals in it and having it run for a week or so. My wife had a contractor in the backyard yesterday and told her the pool looked like it was in desperate need to be repaired. She shared that it WAS redone in Sept and the contractor said we should report this to the ROC. Attached is a picture of the current condition of the pool. They said they are coming out again to review it. 2/27 - after coming out and vigorously scrubbing the areas with cracks (saw them on camera doing so) they now claim that there is nothing wrong. Dave refuses to honor warranty or resolve the issue and only responding to messages with the reply "No problem". Reported to ROC who has picked up the claim and will inspect in April. read more

DO NOT HIRE!!! We'd like to start by saying we have never, ever written a negative review of any contractor, restaurant, service or person. We are the type of people that like to live in positivity and peace. However, in this case we feel it's necessary to warn other potential customers. We hired this company to install a paver walkway / porch at our home. The demolition of the existing walk caused damage to 4 areas (two concrete pillars, the thresh hold foundation at the front door, and a 6" chunk of concrete was taken out of the driveway. The workers assured us all would be fixed and we'd never even know it had happened. The pillars were repaired to satisfaction however the other 2 repairs are still quite visible. See attached photo's. The design of our project was "fluid" as it involved curved edging. The workers took great care to get our final approval on one side of the walk way, laying out the pavers so we could see the final design. The workers did not get our final approval for the other side of the walk, finished the job with mortar without showing us the final edge and left for the day without any communication. They also left a pile of debris on the street in front of our house. A few days later the sales person arrived to check on the job. We told him of our concern, the edge was a sharp curve, not reflecting the other side of the curve. We asked the sales person if the workers could come back to reset the curve. He said it would not be a problem and someone would get in touch with us within a couple of days. At that time, we also requested the heavy tread marks caused by the machine they used be removed from our driveway and again he said no problem, they could power wash it off. A week went by and we heard from no one. Twice we requested the pile of debris be removed from the street before it was taken care of a week later. The following week we received an email from the company requesting final payment. I called the company asap and told them the job was not complete. Then I received a call from the owner asking why we were refusing to make payment. I explained all of the above. He ended the call with a promise to call the next day with an update. We didn't hear from him for 2 more weeks. Again we received an email requesting payment. Again we called and said the job was incomplete. The next day workers showed up to look at the job and told us we would be charged for the correction. We sent an email to the company explaining that we were told it was no problem to make the requested change and clean the driveway. The owner Dave called us and literally yelled at us over the phone. He stated that we had approved a paint stripe on the ground before the demo even began and that constitutes approval of the design. He said they never clean up their messes (tread marks and debris) and we were asking for above and beyond service. Continuing in a raised voice, he stated they did us a favor by doing a small job and they wouldn't be doing them any more. With the exception of the initial sales person (the only person that seemed to have any care for customer satisfaction), the communication (or lack there of) from this company was terrible and the owner is quick tempered and unprofessional. Our 20 year old backyard needed an update and our pool needed to be resurfaced. We searched around to find a company that did both, landscape and pool remodel. We found New Image Landscape and Pools, located in Mesa. This company totally transformed our back yard! These are the items we had done: 1. Demo the whole backyard - took out grass, a few plants two large palms and moved large boulders. 2. Drained our pool, chipped out the old pebble tek and cut out the rolled bond beams. 3. Added Travertine coping around the pool and added waterline tile. 4. Resurfaced the pool with beautiful blue colored pebbletek, added tile depth markers on steps and added new LED light. 5. Layed over 1,000 sq feet of 12x24 travertine tiles on patio and around pool for decking. 6. Put in articial turf and travertine borders where needed. Jared our project manager, was the best! Couldn't ask for anyone better to work with, easy going and cares about the work to be done. Jared will work with you to make sure everything is the way you wanted, he gets back with you in a timely manner, and he explains the process. Hernan and his crews are top notch! They show up early and get right to work! Hernan is also a great guy and will answer any questions you might have. We love our back yard! It's our Oasis and exactly what we wanted for a long time! I've spent about 3 months trying to work with New Image. Unfortunately, they've had turn over, which led to delays in completing the landscape design. They later admitted that the designer wasn't very good at landscape design. We tried to get the project back on track, but continued to have responsiveness as an issue. After 10 days with no response on landscape design, I asked for an update and expressed frustration in the delays. This is the response I get "..we're currently very busy. In addition, I went out of town for the previous week.? "...Sometimes people need someone who can turn things over quicker than us and I totally respect that. Thursday would be the earliest we could get that done - if that's not ok, wish you the best." We chose not to move forward with New Image because of this experience. If I have this much of a challenge giving them business, I can only imagine the challenge I will run into executing the project. read more

Hired this company in March to do a remodel of our 16 year old pool. Contract was signed March 1, and we were told around three weeks for completion depending on weather etc. The final walkthrough was on 5/13 and we had a small punch list of issues that needed to be taken care of. The major would be waiting 28 days for the pebble tec to cure, the salt system to get up and running...no problem as the pool was filled and pumps were turned on ,we were told to use chlorine during the 28 days. We figured the company would address the rest of the punch list while waiting the 28 days...NOPE after weeks of emails and calls with one email by the project manager we approached over the 28 days for the salt to be put in, pump changed over to the salt system. Again no response. Punch list still not done. Very frustrating as we paid the last installment after the walkthrough. But word to the wise...Contract of installment payments does not include the punch list, which seemed odd, but the company had a 5 star rating and we liked our salesperson. Gave them the benefit of the doubt. So company received all the monies and probability figured ...not a priority to complete. I decided to give them options....complete the punch list or pay us to hire someone to complete...now we are into July. They choose the second option. I would have given a 4 star, as the pool turned out beautifully, but communication was terrible to say the least, there should be no excuse in this day and age of the tech world that the project manager of any company doesn't get back with the customer in a timely manner...not weeks of waiting... and you know what....if the company is that busy....hire even a part time project manager in order to keep that 5 star rating and focus on your customers, who are the ones that pay the bills and give referrals to their families and friends . read more

I hate that I have to write this review in hopes of getting some help from this company. Barely two years after getting our pool and pergola done by them, the pavers started sinking, cracking and becoming detached. Both sides of our pool have significant dips that collect water. I tripped and fell (Today!) on our gravel after I discovered one of the edge pavers is completely detached. When I reached out to the owner, he said "ground settling" is normal and that they would charge me to repair this problem because it was over two years. I have had several other landscapers and engineers see this work and agree that it was not done properly. No one in my street has had this problem. I have reached out 2 times since my original inquiry with no response. Our yard/deck looks awful and I regret using this company as I believe it needs to be entirely redone. What's worse is the problem continues to get worse. I do not recall being informed that my pavers would need to be regularly redone after 2 years in the contract. Is that how long a pool is supposed to last? My mom's 40 year old deck looks better than mine. I'm very unhappy and wish they would fix this. Pictures do not do the issue justice. This is unacceptable and I've never felt so cheated and regretful as this was a big purchase for us when we decided to start a family. read more

Main complaints include: significant delays in completing the project, terrible communication from project manager and owners regarding concerns and poor craftsmanship resulting in serious safety issues that required significant effort on our part to get resolved. Early summer, my wife and I a big decision to make, do we go another year without a pool, packing out our 3 kids everyday to go swimming down the road, or do we just bite the bullet, plant roots and build our own pool? As you know, building your own pool is a huge investment and for a young family like ours it was a stretch and we really wanted to go with a company we trusted. From our very first interaction with New Image, we could tell that they really cared. Not only did they come out for the initial run through, but Nick spent a lot of time answering our questions. That said, they set up our entire plan beautifully. I think the thing we appreciated most was that when we asked questions, we got almost immediate answers. I think it should be said that they weren't just yes or no questions. We were anxious about how our money was being spent and wanted very detailed answers. Speak with David Stewart. He's the owner and #1 butt-kicker. I went to him with only a list of features I wanted in my landscaping, but with no idea of how the finished product might look. David did all of the design work and, it's so apparent that he's really quite an artist. I'm very happy with the quality of the work, and I thought that the price was very fair. My landscaping and pool project was big and the required time ran well over the initial estimate, but there were good reasons for that most of the time, including all of my change orders. I started out contacting four different pool and landscaping companies. Of the four, New Image was head and shoulders above the rest in terms of talent, honesty, and communication. Personally, I just can't see any reason to use anybody else. You can't find better. read more

That is not part of the deal. Had pool and entire backyard built by New Image. Total lack of communication from start to finish. It honestly felt like I was the project manager, and if I wasn't proactive the project would not even be finished 1.5 years later. Now we are having electrical issues with the pump tripping the breaker(not a big deal, as things happen. That's why there are things called a warranty) which is under warranty. I reached out on 8.3.21 regarding the issue. They said someone would be out to fix after numerous phone calls to even contact someone. It's now 9.4.21 and still nobody has come out to repair. They indicated on the initial phone callthat we had about a $400 balance still due (which we were unaware of and nobody contacted us for 1.5 years regarding it) but it was legit so we paid it. Spent over 50k on the work and can't even get an answer for anything. Pool hasn't been running for a month now. I understand trying to find workers is hard these times, but to have nobody for a month to fix a simple breaker is ludicrous, as I'm sure they are building pools as I write this. I'm willing to bet that if I don't follow up for the hundredth time it will just be brushed under the rug and ignored. There are many better options for pool builders that value the customer, warranty their work, and communicate. I guess I'll have to contact BBB to get this done. I'm done with this company. Do not hire! NILP did a shoddy job on our pool remodel and, after 1 year, the problems have not been addressed. They can be rude, when addressing issues (using insults & profanity) they even put a lien on our home when we refused to accept shoddy concrete work done on the pool shell (see item #4) The project was delayed by approx 2 months, due to NILP's delays and refusals to fix problems which arose during construction. Many attempts at communication were ignored. 1. We hired NILP to create a raised concrete water feature - it was poorly engineered and a structural engineer, we hired, told us that NILP did not engineer the concrete feature properly. NILP poured approx 3.5 feet of solid concrete on an existing pool deck (approx 2.5" - 3" deep), this, together with the weight of water to the water features, 2 brass lion heads & a cascade caused the raised concrete section to slope backwards. This movement caused cracking in our pool decking, along the coping (lip between the pool and deck), in the tile & tile grout and caused some of the tile to shift. --- NILP put more grout under some of the coping and replaced some of the cracking tile & tile grout. They refused to take care of the cracking in the pool deck, nor fix the tile slippage, which also resulted in an uneven appearance in the grout and tile line. We have concerns that the underlying issue has not been addressed and we will experience more cracking and slippage after their "2-year warranty" has expired. NILP's reasons for the damage was that the 22-year old pool was 'settling'... funny that the pool just started 'settling' after they poured 3.5' on concrete on a pool deck without proper support. Still waiting for the issue to be resolved. 2. Water Feature: We had NILP install a water cascade flanked by 2 brass lion heads. The cascade and one of the lion heads work perfectly; the other lion head sprays wildly, making the feature look 'broken'. At first, NILP tried to blame us for the lion head, since we purchased these separately - with their approval. Then, they kept sending the worker, who installed the feature, out to try to fix his own problem. We told them that we wanted a plumber to fix the issue, since the issue appeared to be in the plumbing lines - Nick Stewart told me that the worker was a licensed contractor, when I asked for his contractor license number, Mr Stewart was forced to admit that he 'misspoke'. Mr Stewart then told me that the worker had his own company - checking with the AZ Corporation Commission, revealed that the worker was a member of an LLC, formed many months after our project was completed, and that the LLC was in the business of 'residential leasing'... which has nothing to do with plumbing or construction. Still waiting for the water feature to be fixed. 3. We also had NILP chip out the old plaster on our 20' X 40' dive pool and renovate it with pebble tec. The pebble tec looked spotty, splotchy and much looked tired & worn after just a couple of months. The pebble tec company came by and admitted that the pool needed to be fixed and offered to acid wash to rectify the situation. NILP sent their own guy out who applied acid wash and told us that he couldn't get rid of the huge splotches and discoloration... he told us that he was going to call "the man", whom we assumed was Nick Stewart; then, without warning, or explanation, the worker was gone and our garden hose was placed in the pool to refill it. This issue, also has never been rectified. 4. Many other issues: including NILP filling a hole 3' X 1.5' & approx 1' deep, with debris, placing a 'cow patty' of 1/2" cement over the large void - we were lied to & told that this was 'special' cement and would handle the psi of 12' of water. This is my PERSONAL feeling only, I felt that many of the company's representations & actions may fall under the category of consumer fraud. read more

Wow! This company has amazing customer service! They fixed the lines to our pool pump 3 months ago and everything was great until recently when the pool started loosing .5 inches of water a day. I called New Image because I thought we might have another leak. To my surprise a gentleman took the time to walk me through a checklist of possible issues that might fix my problem BEFORE sending someone out. He was able to walk me through the simple process and he found the issue. No pool leaks, just a simple turn of a valve to solve the problem. As the owner I would expect that you knew what your staff did. I did in fact receive a flier or else there is no way I would have called for a quote. Secondly, unless you were present at our initial meeting than you would have no clue what was said. I clearly stated to Nick on more than one occasion what our budget was and made it clear, or so I thought, that we were flexible in this budget if he could get us close. He stated we would discuss areas we could do in phases if needed but that meeting our budget, and I quote, "no problem, I see no reason we can't get close." As a prospective customer I take this as no issue getting to the budget or close to it, not to be given a quote more than double our discussion and with zero help or further discussion on how to get close to the budget. I'm disgusted that you think you are politely declining to do business with me when zero REAL attempt was made to gain a customer. What it really boils down to is Nick's inability to listen and focus on customer needs and his lack of desire to be helpful. I made it clear from the beginning and still had to go back and request that he fix the rendering to reflect what I initially asked for but I bet you won't include those emails. You are far from the only landscape company in the valley and I could not be more happy with the way it ended because I can only imagine the hoops I would have had to jump through to get a job completed had I chosen to become your customers. PS- you may want to make sure New Image isn't really leaving fliers on doors without your knowledge. Met with Nick to review a project for our home. Our first impression of Nick was classy, professional and an owner who had integrity. The transparency of the project was up front and everything from material costs to labor was disclosed so that there would be no confusion to the final estimate. After the final estimate was given and our budget had been discussed, Nick was able to deliver a product that was superior to our original plans. Nick is creative and intelligent. As a small business owner myself, I realize the difficulty of service and construction when it comes to job costing and being able to help people meet sometimes unreasonable expectations .
