I called many months ago and spoke with the owner (Mike) to replace damaged laminate flooring in a business in my commercial building. The owner, Mike, had came and measured and said it would be done soon. Several weeks had went by with no calls or updates. I was wondering why no one reached out to give me a status update, so I called the owner. When I called him, he said he would call me back in a few minutes but never did. I was starting to get "fed up" and reached out again, and he started ignoring my calls. When I became totally fed up and left a voicemail of my displeasure, he then put me on automatic - voicemail. I was a loyal and dependable customer to them for years without any issues. I talked to my friend who referred me to Best Carpets and Interiors and I found out that the company's business practices are not what they used to be. Basically, if you are not a "big job" like a large scale renovation, you are but on the "back burner". I was really "stunned" because the job I needed done was an easy one or two day job. After 2023 renovations of our kitchen, we had some separation between the wood boards and buckling (spring 2024). The initial assessment and estimate with Tom were great - very clear issues and methods for resolution. The team thought the reason for the separation and buckling was due to the kitchen cabinets being placed on top of the flooring rather than allowing the floor to float. They came as scheduled to remove the previous flooring and put the replacement floating bamboo flooring down - same material as the 2023 original. However, they placed one cabinet/side bar on top of the floor after installation, which worried us since we were told that this was the cause for the issue to start. After they "finished", we didn't hear from Paul (our project manager and co owner) for 9 months on this issue (after multiple calls, texts and emails from our side, no response from them). He only reached out because he realized they hadn't invoiced for our final payment -- we were wiling to pay the entire time- just wanted to hear back about the possibly incorrect installation. Paul was rude, not professional, and had horrible communication skills. The floor again separated and buckled only 10 months after they replaced it in 2024- in the exact same place that they "corrected". Since then, it's been 4-5 months of back and forth with Josh- the company owner, long periods of silence and emails ignored (overall terrible customer service), and most importantly, no execution or resolution to either the incorrect installation or repeat issue - no one has returned to our house.

Long story short: if you can secure these guys for your flooring job, don't waste your time…read morelooking for a better team to handle your flooring project. Now, the devil is in the details, and these guys know everything about making it perfect. However, in my experience, this is not what distinguishes Anthony and Tony from all other installers - it is how they react to the unforeseen circumstances - and let's admit it, no matter how carefully we plan everything, the unforeseen circumstances always find ways to arise. With that in mind, it was an absolute pleasure to see a great deal of character and professionalism that was demonstrated during my project. I have only accounted friendliness and understanding.... Even during the most challenging circumstances (not a fault of the contractor) that, unfortunately, had to be rectified by Hoffman Floor and Home, they have exhibited the most admirable ethics towards me (the client). At the end, everything was completed with 100% perfection and is a super friendly way. It is an absolute pleasure to recommend Hoffman Floor team to anyone who is fortunate enough to come across them. This will be the easiest decision you have to make on your next re-modeling project. Context: we have only contracted Hoffman Floors to install underlining and laminate flooring in the 2000 sq ft condominium; therefore, I cannot comment on quality of any other jobs outside of that scope. Once the work was done, we would have them then install a runner. We were excited to use Hoffman from all of the amazing examples that they shared on social media of staircases and homes they 'claim' to have renovated. The sales team in the store was as you would expect for a boutique mom & pop shop... an air of pretentiousness in a relatively humble environment. After insulting my wife & I by assuming we were looking for a budget-friendly deal, we ultimately were left to search the store and pick out the runner we wanted. After deciding, we scheduled measurements for the following week. As we attempted to leave, the salesperson insisted on following us out into the parking lot to put samples in our trunk, however, I believe this was a further attempt to 'size-up' our budget based on what we drove. Anthony, the third generation in this family-run business, showed up at my house the following week. He was here for approximately 20 minutes, took the measurements, and advised he would be in touch in about a week once all of the materials were in. He advised everything needed to be special ordered. The job was quoted at $4,000. I accepted. One, two, three, then four weeks go by without hearing from Anthony. As it had been a month, I called the store to find out what the cause of the delay was. They advised that the materials were expected to be in at the end of the week, and apologized for the delay. I was completely understandable, as I was just happy to have Hoffman come do the work in the first place. Afterall, the pictures they continued to share on social media looked amazing. I wanted the same in my house. Three more weeks go by, then I get a call from Anthony saying they are ready to start the work. I was thrilled. Anthony's 'team' showed up on a Friday towards the end of April. They demo'd my existing handrail and newel post. As they went to replace the broken step, they realized that Anthony ordered the wrong thickness, and the correct one would have to be special ordered (again). Given that 8 weeks had already passed, and frustrated, I called Anthony and advised rather than ordering 1-custom step, please replace all steps with standard thickness ones. He apologized and advised that the total cost of the project would now be $6,000. This was still well within my budget so we agreed, and the team would be back the following week to continue the work. The team shows up the following week, rips out all of the stairs, and replaces with 'new' ones, and 'finishes' the handrail/newel post. After two coats of stain, Anthony texted me and advised the project was done and we were ready for Carpet. Here's where the story really gets interesting: --Nothing installed was special ordered and is readily available at Home Depot. --Each of the 11 brand-new stairs they installed had scratch marks, pencil marks, or dents. --The newel post had approximately 50 blemishes from improper sanding/staining. --The balusters were installed upside-down! Then corrected via using glue and wood filler to partially cover all of the knicks and holes they just put in the brand-new materials. ---They did not stain the visible undersides of the new steps --They did not stain the backside of the handrail against the wall --Multiple sharp/jagged edges were left exposed --They did not clean-up their worksite, leaving half eaten fruit in my garage. --They used two different types of balusters after they 'fixed' the original mistake. --They did not come with their own sufficient materials and used my personal table saw/miter saw. --I come to discover that the 'team' Anthony sent to my house had not worked for him before, and were effectively unskilled day laborers. --At no point did Anthony ever come to check on the work. Clearly, Anthony/Hoffman contracted this project out, in an attempt to make quick cash off an unsuspecting customer. I called Anthony and told him to come look at the work. Originally, he was very combative and continually corrected the language I was using to describe the work his team did to my house (if the work looks like ..... it probably is). He tried to persuade me to let him come back and try again, but as he already dragged this process on for 2+ months and had his team at my house 5+ times, I was not interested. Given my dissatisfaction and the clear evidence that he had tried to scam me, he fully refunded my deposit and did not charge me for the work. I didn't want to write/post a review but given that Hoffman is still actively advertising their stair 'services', I felt it necessary to share my experience. p.s. the pictures hardly do justice to how poor the work really is.

After reading the reviews, I figured this would be a good place to comparison shop. Best decision I could have made!!! From the moment I walked in, I knew this was an amazing business. Everyone was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Another very important point for me was that there was absolutely no sales pressure. That's a HUGE plus! Long story short, I had received a quote for over $46,000.00 for the cabinets I wanted. This quote did not include any extras like pull out tray/drawers, lazy susans, utensil cabinets next to stove, etc. The price I ended up paying for all of the same cabinets from the original quote from the other guy plus additional cabinets, special pieces, drawer pulls, lazy susan/utensil drawer/pull out trays/drawers, etc. was just under $21,000.00!!! This price was for the exact same manufacturer (Fabuwood) and same exact color as quoted by the other guy...That's a $25,000.00 difference! (If my actual cost seems like a lot please note I got an insane amount of cabinets/pantries, etc.) Also, I don't know how I was so fortunate as to work extensively with Furkhan, but he was incredible throughout the entire renovation process! Despite the fact that I knew what I wanted for our renovations, I knew nothing about the actual process/details. Furkhan was pretty much available 24/7 and spent an endless amount of time with me going over every detail, making sure I didn't miss anything I might need, and answering my never ending questions. He took the time to learn exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond to ensure the desired results! He also came up with ideas that seemed minor but ultimately made the difference between me really liking my kitchen to absolutely loving it!!! (I still just look at the kitchen when I walk in and smile at the results). Another huge plus was that he worked seamlessly with my contractor and everyone else involved in the project (plumber, appliance place, etc.) to ensure the smooth flow of every aspect of the project. Even when I had a small problem with an outside vendor, he took care of it for me and made sure it was resolved immediately. He kept on top of everything going on and kept me updated accordingly. I cannot possibly thank Art of Kitchen Tile & Bath enough for all their hard work. Everyone who has walked into our house cannot stop talking about how beautiful it is and about the quality of the work! They are our third party installer when we purchased floors at a flooring company. The workers…read moreshowed up late in the afternoon though we were told they would arrive by 1pm. They should have called us to let us know they were running late. When they arrived, they did not even say sorry and they said they can finish within a few hours. But at 4pm, it was not done but they said "we didn't finish but it's 4pm so we gotta go. We will be back tomorrow." We took a day off from a job and stayed there the entire day waiting for them to come. Then they didn't finish after they came here late and tire to come back next day without asking our schedule. Their work ethic was very unprofessional. The next day they came back but this time another workers and they told us the works who came the previous day installed the underlayment upside-down and not flush against the walls, which is totally wrong. To their credit Mighty Oak gave is a lil' discount for our troubles and their boss came to our house the next day, after the job was finally done, to check on everything himself. But before he left, he made sure to tell us that "it goes both way" and we were "rude" for calling them "unprofessional" and we should've been more understanding of their lateness (without a call) because "things happen." We didn't create the circumstances that followed, we just responded to them. This whole experience was a nightmare and it was very unfortunate that these people were assigned to come to install our floor.
