I'm trying to squeeze out as much life out of my roof before I need to re-roof. But one service I was surprised about was the roof repair service. Koolau Roof Tech., business owner (Kirt), was very professional, and knowledgeable about roofing shingles, yet really humble and cordial. After inspecting the condition of the roof for the rejuvenation spray, Kirt also mentioned several items that should be addressed on my roof. He also addressed any concerns and asked whether I had any further questions. Kirt later provided a detailed comprehensive report, with images of the roof areas to be sprayed, the missing shingle caps, and the cracked vents. The report fully explained what would be done to bring the roof back into shape, and the cost. The morning of the roof spray was seamless. Kirt was very prompt and informed me of his arrival time. It took only several hours to complete the tasks, and Kirt and his assistant (Father) were once again very professional and cordial. Everything around the perimeter of the house were returned to the original location, and they really prepped the areas on the ground to minimize the overspray. Upon completion of the job, I could immediately tell the difference in the roof shingles. What really impressed me was the detailed post roof spray report. Images were provided of the roof spray before, during and after, and all the completed roof caps and cracked vents. For anyone who is contemplating on using a rejuvenating roof spray to extend the life of their shingle roof, I would highly recommend calling/emailing Kirt at Koolau Roof Tech. I am very satisfied, and thank you Kirt!

I called West Oahu Roofing after the storm that hit Oahu on Thursday, January 30, 2025 because I discovered a small leak in my living room. Bernard, the owner & President came out Saturday following the storm and found the leak right away. Despite being a small job, he promptly submitted a proposal. After other companies came out, I hired West Oahu Roofing. Bernard also sent his carpenter to look at a corner of my home subject to rot due to rain/moisture. In a few days both my leak in the living room and exterior rot were fixed on the same day! I certainly recommend West Oahu Roofing, and will call them for future roofing issues.

My husband called uncle Jes to come by and he sent his brother instead (whose availability depends on his location - he mentioned working on a neighbor island too). His brother came to "fix" our skylight and patched some areas on our roof, which we appreciated at the time. Unfortunately, the issue persisted. We had a drizzle during hard rains; clearly it wasn't fixed. After many ignored calls and no follow-up, we hired another roofing company to address the skylight, along with repairs for wood rot on our rafters & eaves. What we learned from the new roofers was that our roof installation wasn't done properly and definitely not up to standard. Pamalu should have removed the old, multiple damaged layers of rolled roofing (a full tear-off) instead of just overlaying the new one on top. We were advised that, due to this installation lacking a full tear-off, the roof is likely to need a full replacement in the next five years or so. In contrast, during our consultation, uncle Jes stated it should last 20 years and comes with warranty. That's a disappointingly huge gap in expectations. Ignorance was truly bliss and I'm honestly embarrassed about my old review now that we know more.
