This is a great service to extend your roof. I was so glad that my roof could be treated with this rejuvenating product to extend the life of my roof. I'm trying to squeeze out as much life out of my roof before I need to re-roof. But one service I was surprised about was the roof repair service. Kirt's experience allowed him to identify shortcomings in my roof and provide corrections. Kirt provided two great services to ensure my roof continues to protect my house. He also does a great job documenting the work. Very happy with this service. read more

Normally I do not post or write comments, but due to the exceptional service that I received, I needed to share my experience. Koolau Roof Tech., business owner (Kirt), was very professional, and knowledgeable about roofing shingles, yet really humble and cordial. After inspecting the condition of the roof for the rejuvenation spray, Kirt also mentioned several items that should be addressed on my roof. He also addressed any concerns and asked whether I had any further questions. Kirt later provided a detailed comprehensive report, with images of the roof areas to be sprayed, the missing shingle caps, and the cracked vents. The report fully explained what would be done to bring the roof back into shape, and the cost. The morning of the roof spray was seamless. Kirt was very prompt and informed me of his arrival time. It took only several hours to complete the tasks, and Kirt and his assistant (Father) were once again very professional and cordial. Everything around the perimeter of the house were returned to the original location, and they really prepped the areas on the ground to minimize the overspray. Upon completion of the job, I could immediately tell the difference in the roof shingles. What really impressed me was the detailed post roof spray report. Images were provided of the roof spray before, during and after, and all the completed roof caps and cracked vents. For anyone who is contemplating on using a rejuvenating roof spray to extend the life of their shingle roof, I would highly recommend calling/emailing Kirt at Koolau Roof Tech. I am very satisfied, and thank you Kirt! read more

I went with Koolau Roof Tech for my shingle roof rejuvenating. I choose roof tech based on their ratings, brother-in-law experience and the quality control throughout the entire process. This is a small local business operation. The owner Kirk Kobashigawa is the Estimater and roof sprayer. Kirt and his dad will be doing the work, hence you get high quality control on the application of the bio-based oil onto your asphalt shingles. Kirk has been in the business for years and is considered an expert in this area of roof rejuvenating. He will not only do the roof rejuvenated but will also address deficiencies in areas such as sealing the expose nails, install new rain collars, and paint the rusty counter flashings. What do you get from Kirt is a dedicated person doing the job 110% correct if your roof is somewhat aged but still in fair shape, and you want to put off replacement for a while, roof rejuvenation can be a good value. Please call Kirt for your roof rejuvenating needs! You will not be disappointed! I guarantee! read more

It has been such a pleasure working with Kirt! He's an excellent communicator who does a great job of explaining his roof rejuvenation treatment. We are fortunate to have learned about his cost-effective service that is enabling us to extend the life of our old (30+ years) roof. Kirt provided us with a detailed assessment report (incl. photos and captions) that illustrated the condition of our roof and how his treatment can help. We highly recommend Koolau Roof Tech to anyone interested in preserving and extending the life of their roof! read more

I was really pleasantly surprised by the assessment I had with Kirk. Such a stand-up and knowledgeable guy. My roof didn't qualify at this time for the treatment but I'm definitely planning on it in a few years. Don't hesitate to call them. read more

Contacted Koolau Roof Tech for an estimate to rejuvenate my shingles. Kirt came by and provided an estimate which included photos of areas in need of pre-treatment (Loose nails, torn shingles, etc.) that was included in the price. I decided to go ahead with Koolau and scheduled a treatment date. Unfortunately, bad weather (Rain/wind) made the job challenging with the possibility of overspray to my neighbors. Kirt understood and wanted me to be comfortable so we rescheduled. Treatment day finally arrived but with some moderate wind. The job should have taken 2hrs but Kirt was on the roof for 3hrs using an overspray shield on the end of the nozzle which prevented overspray but limited the spray area to smaller portions at a time thus, extended the job time. Not sure other contractors would have been willing to sacrifice/extend their work time especially when the price was already agreed to. That's called integrity, as a professional, which is hard to count on today. I also received photos of the work done after treatment I'm good with the process and work performed. read more

Prompt. Very easy to work with. Very nice. If we need similar work to be done we will be sure to contact them!

Our roof leaked with the heavy rains/storm this past Saturday. Kirt responded to my email promptly and scheduled a free assessment the next day. Kirt came out and took time to discuss his findings with my husband. We were bummed to learn our shingles are at the end of their life expectancy and don't qualify for a rejuvenation treatment. However, we are so grateful for Kirts honest assessment and helpful recommendations. I wish I found him a few years back, definitely would utilize his rejuvenation treatment. read more

Koolau Roof Tech, to me, has been the best kept secret that needs to be shared with every homeowner in Hawaii. Knowing I need to replace my roof soon, obviously I'm not looking forward to the cost of doing so as I have 49 solar panels that will need to come down and put back up which will be a huge added cost when I do replace my roof. Luckily, I found Koolau Roof Tech and with this new advanced technology, I can now take a breather for at least 3-5 years while preparing for the inevitable roof replacement. Long story short, my shingles have been rejuvenated, they are no longer brittle but flexible and the granules will adhere to the shingles better, the algae and moss on my shingles are gone and the areas were water can leak into my house has been fixed. Prior to hiring Kirt, he drove over to look at my roof so he can 1) determine if my roof would benefit from his product or not, i.e., meaning it's time for me to replace it, and 2) get the required information so he can prepare an estimate if my roof passes his test. During this estimate phase, Kirt explained he can do my roof just one time and that I would have to replace it in about 5 years. He also explained all the things he saw on my roof that were susceptible to leaks which he would fix and what I needed to do before he came back which was basically for me to cut back the palm trees and the palm branches that were touching my roof or hanging over my roof. Later that afternoon, he sent me a detailed report going over what we discussed that included the estimate and pictures of everything he saw on my roof that he would fix prior to him spraying. He also had pictures of the palms I needed to cut down. My first impression of Kirt is that he's very friendly, on time, professional and honest. When I decided to hire him, he showed up with his dad who basically was there for Kirt's safety as it's a dangerous job being on a roof. As I talked to both Kirt and his dad, it basically sealed the deal for me in that I thoroughly trust them...they're Good People and they just want to do an excellent job...which they did!!! Briefly, some of the areas he fixed on the roof prior to spraying were: sealing exposed nails and torn shingle caps with a clear trypolymer sealant, tacked down floating flashing, used the clear trypolymer sealant to cover the solar hot water supply line and replaced a few rain collars as they appeared to have been gnawed on by rats which created a space they could squeeze into while also allowing rain water to leak in. I attached a few pictures of these. When spraying, he was very conscientious of our neighbors so he first treated the edges of our roof with his backpack sprayer to minimize overspray. In closing I highly recommend Koolau Roof Tech, not only because I believe in their product, but because of the outstanding customer service from Kirt. I highly recommend you visit their website or call Kirt because I can't do this product justice in a review. It would be best to read about it on their website and talk to the expert himself, Kirt. He responds very timely to emails or phone calls and will answer any questions you may have. Koolau Roof Tech is an excellent roofing company. Since we are in the process of installing solar panels & our asphalt shingle roof is 17 years old, but not quite ready to be replaced. Koolau Tech was the only company that had the answer for our roof, Renuvenation, instead of replacement. None of the others recommended reroofing, but didn't have anything to recommend. We were so fortunate to have found Koolau Toof Tech!!! Our roof is now ready to be installed. The rejuvenation has a 5 year warranty as well!!! read more

Highly recommended. Kirt did an excellent job. Really appreciate his knowledge and explanation of all the options that were available. He did exactly what he said he was going to do. Very professional. That's what you want when you hire someone to do any type of maintenance on your roof. I wish all the companies that I hire were like his. His timings are exact. Kirt and Mel did an excellent job applying the preservative solution on my roof. They worked well in tandem and were quite efficient. They cleaned up upon completion leaving nothing unchecked. Exceptional Service! Kirt and his son was very meticulous in covering balcony railings and patio furniture before spraying. Upon completion, they hosed down areas that had some overspray. As an extra service(complimentary), Kirt repaired exposed areas of the roof where my solar panel anchors was not sealed when it was installed and sealed exposed roofing nails. I really like the fact that I'm dealing with a smaller type company where the owner is also the person who does the job as well! You get what's promised!!! read more

I'm relieved that we have another alternative to save money on our roof instead of spending thousands of dollars to replace the whole thing. With our solar panels, it was refreshing to know we had another way to give my roof a new life. I was happy that they were a local family business and understood the kind of climate our roofs go through. He noticed things I would have never noticed and even fixed something that would have been an issue later. We had a pleasant conversation when the job was complete. I can't say enough about the service and using local small business. I thought his pricing was fair and reasonable. Please use Ko'olau Roof Tech for your future roof needs. Mahalo Nui! read more

June 6, 2024 * Positive Review The Owner -- Kirt Kobashigawa -- is very personable and approachable.  His Dad and son who also worked with him on our job both had Kirt's same friendly demeanor.             At our initial consultation, Kirt responded in a helpful professional manner.  He was also very knowledgeable in answering all of our questions and concerns.  Kirt was patient and took the time to explain the current condition of our roof and educated us on the rejuvenation technology treatment process. Furthermore, we received a detailed roof report from Kirt on the same day.           We would highly recommend Koolau Roof Tech to anyone who is interested in how to extend the lifespan of their roof; and how to help them $ave from a costly roof replacement.  In addition, we appreciated their great work and awesome job Thanks again Kirt‼ -- Guy read more

I was able to Communicate with Kirt through emails and texts as I travel a lot. He rejuvenated 3 of my neighbors homes roofs and results were great. Kirt did my home a couple days ago after giving a free estimate with photos and suggestions, suck as sealing my air vents from Birds. His estimate was impressive and he keep in communication on exactly what he and company can do. He sealed my roof from some loose stings, sealed nail holes and then put the rejuvenation on the roof. He was so thoughtful he even covered my neighbors suv in case of overspray The most impressive thing about Kirt imo was that I was dealing with a truly nice and host guy who did what he said he would do and the constant communication and before and after photos are a keeper. If you are looking for a good roofing company give Kirt a call. You wont be disappointed. I know I wasn't and neither were my neighbors Jim read more

I was getting granules of shingle material coming out of my rain gutter downspouts after heavy rains, and my roof shingles were getting dark with algae. It bothered me because my 10-year-old roof has a 30-year warranty. I thought the roof was supposed to last longer before breaking down, but it was showing signs of wear and tear under Hawaii's sun. I saw the commercial for Koolau Roof Tech and decided to call for an estimate. Kirt was quick to reply via text, email, and phone. He came to my home, on time, and completed his estimate that included a detailed report of my roof (with pictures of damaged areas.) The estimate includes a roof tune -up to repair the items noted in his report. This was really convenient since I did not have to look for another contractor, get estimates and schedule the repair work. I hired Koolau Roof Tech for the treatment and roof tune up work. Roof repairs were done, the treatment was completed, and pictures were taken for me to reference. Kirt and his crew left my house cleaner than when they started since they had to wash down my sidewalks to wash off the treatment over spray from the roof. Kirt told me he would inspect my roof yearly which is comforting to know. Kirt said it takes time for the treatment to be absorbed by the shingles and for the roof to look brighter. I recommend Kirt and Koolau Roof Tech if you want to give your roof some TLC and want to work with a Kamaaina company that provides excellent customer service. read more

I saw the article in the Sunday's Renovation section and thought it might be the right time in a rejuvenation of my shingles. Kirt did a thorough on-site evaluation on the condition of my roof which also had photovoltaic panels. He saw cracks that needed to be patched, moss under my panels, loose nails sticking up and cracking bibs around my vents. I contacted Koolau Roof Tech to inspect our residential roof and get an assessment of any issues that needed to be addressed before the winter storm season. Kirt Kobashigawa immediately responded to inspect the roof and provided a detailed assessment of services Koolau Roof Tech could provide. I'd gladly recommend Koolau Roof Tech to my family and friends. Absolutely great service! Thank you, Kirt! read more

Came home on a Sunday w a puddle of water on my kitchen floor with water actively dripping from the light fixture above my head AND a bubble of water that's 5 inches in diameter next to the light fixture . Went through the list of "Roofing Companies" to see which roofer was actually open on a Sunday and landed on a 5-star Koolau Roof Tech. Kirt not only asked a lot of diagnostic questions over the phone so he could better understand the root of the problem, but he also ended up coming to my house to do more investigating of the source of the leak. He checked out the roof as well as journeyed through the attic crawl space to see what was going on. He's an honest businessman who knows his stuff and will give you his expert opinion on best next steps. (Sometimes, some small business owners get high makamaka and act all "show off" thinking they're all that. Not Kirt. He's humble and a nice guy.) Thanks Kirt for being so thorough and complete in your diagnosis. And for coming to help me when no one else answered their phone. read more

Kirt is amazing! I'm a realtor and went to an inspection requested by my client and to my surprise, Kirt's business can fix a roof, prolonging it's life vs having to replace. Since then, he's been doing roof inspections for all my clients purchasing single family homes, and they have been superior to what you'd find in a simple home inspection. I love that he gives you his honest feedback and out of all the inspections he's done for me, only this last one did he actually say the roof is a good candidate for the Roof Maxx he offers. After the heavy rains that hit Oahu last week I was in for a rude awakening. The roof area over my laundry room had a small leak. There was a "drip drip drip" sound coming from the water from my roof hitting my dryer. Looking for a roofing expert, Yelp allows you to request a quote and it's sent out to several companies open to quotes in the category. Kirt from Kokua Roof Tech wasn't the first to message me back on Yelp but he was literally the first available to actually come down and check out my roof to provide me an estimate, which was helpful since we had hit a dry spot in the heavy rains that were upon us in the next week. He came by and took and look and gave me an honest assessment and overview. My leak wasn't major so he actually repaired it for me for free but he did give me a heads up that we would eventually need to re-tar my roof soon as it was wearing down -- the UV granules were missing and washed out (this prevents the asphalt from cracking due to the sun exposure), there was "pooling" of water happening on the roof, which could affect more erosion of the asphalt on the roof. You may say to yourself that Kirt was only telling me this so that I would eventually redo my entire roof with him. To be clear, Koolau Roof Tech aids in roof maintenance and extending the life of your roof, but not in the business to redo and re-tar the entire roof so there was really no benefit of him telling me this information other than to be helpful and give me a heads up to prevent further damage. Koolau provides eco-friendly solutions to save your roof including a "Roof Tune up" where they address potential leaks and other water penetration areas. A Roof Shampoo Roof Cleaning in which they remove ugly roof stains and gives your roof a gentle low-pressure water wash and lastly a Roof MaXX Conditioning Treatment that restores your shingles' flexibility and granule adhesion to reverse the aging process of your roof. Highly recommend if you have some issues with your roof or if you've been living in your house long enough and SHOULD be looking to extend the life of your roof (let's be honest you never really think about this), you give Kirt at Koolau Roof Tech a call. read more
