I'm trying to squeeze out as much life out of my roof before I need to re-roof. But one service I was surprised about was the roof repair service. Kirt's experience allowed him to identify shortcomings in my roof and provide corrections. Kirt provided two great services to ensure my roof continues to protect my house. He also does a great job documenting the work. Very happy with this service.

Koolau Roof Tech., business owner (Kirt), was very professional, and knowledgeable about roofing shingles, yet really humble and cordial. After inspecting the condition of the roof for the rejuvenation spray, Kirt also mentioned several items that should be addressed on my roof. He also addressed any concerns and asked whether I had any further questions. Kirt later provided a detailed comprehensive report, with images of the roof areas to be sprayed, the missing shingle caps, and the cracked vents. The report fully explained what would be done to bring the roof back into shape, and the cost. The morning of the roof spray was seamless. Kirt was very prompt and informed me of his arrival time. It took only several hours to complete the tasks, and Kirt and his assistant (Father) were once again very professional and cordial. Everything around the perimeter of the house were returned to the original location, and they really prepped the areas on the ground to minimize the overspray. Upon completion of the job, I could immediately tell the difference in the roof shingles. What really impressed me was the detailed post roof spray report. Images were provided of the roof spray before, during and after, and all the completed roof caps and cracked vents. For anyone who is contemplating on using a rejuvenating roof spray to extend the life of their shingle roof, I would highly recommend calling/emailing Kirt at Koolau Roof Tech. I am very satisfied, and thank you Kirt!

After initially setting an appt date using their mechanized system, it was more than 2 mths out, I called back again an actually got a 'live' person who moved it up a month earlier. After a week, I called, got their answering service, and asked when I would receive the estimate. They assured me the message would be relayed. NO CALL BACK. Another week passed, called again, and requested same. AGAIN, NO RESPONSE. Its since been nearly a month and I've yet to hear from them. Even sent a message on their online site, still NO CALLBACK OR RESPONSE. This has been a totally disappointing experience and a lack of courtesy. So sad for a local 'family' business. Its not possible to get anyone at the company on the phone, they dont return messages left, their email on the site comes back 'domain not found'. It seems Murakami roofing does not want to have contact with customers. Finding this out now may be a blessing, what if there was a roof leak later?

I needed someone with tools and manpower as could not do this in my own. A rep from Murakami Roofing called in advance to get a better understanding of the potential job. He then made an appointment to come out and view the roof line in person. After reviewing the roof line, he committed to providing a quote the next day. We did not hear back for two days, so on the third day I called the main office. The receptionist said the rep was in the office and she could connect me to him. Upon answering my call, and learning who I was, he interrupted to advise the job was not something his company would be interested in doing. Why could he not have let me know this when I described the job to him over the phone or after visiting the house? Why would he waste his time and the company's money to pay him to visit our house if he had no intention of taking the job anyway? All great questions. Proceed with great caution.
