Purchased a New Era 9fifty ball cap depicting the Detroit Pistons horse logo from past years. It's a beautiful iconic logo on a very nice hat! The online price was $39.99 with an offer of a $5.99 discount. I took advantage of their online offer and after taxes and shipping I was up to $46.10. Cap took longer than expected to arrive, but upon opening I found a New Era legitimate label on the inside brim marked $20.00! I contacted New Era and their pathetic customer service team responded that if a product has one price marked on it when it arrives, but they sold it online for $14.00 more, they reserve the right to sell it for the higher price! I don't know about any of you, but usually when I go into a store and something is marked lower than the advertised price, that merchant usually sells it for the lower price. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has been incredibly frustrating. I originally ordered a hat because it showed as in stock. New Era later removed it from my order, refunded only that item without reason, and shipped the rest of my order. The hat still showed as in stock online, so I ordered it again. This time, I paid for expedited shipping because I needed the hat by the end of the week for my son to where to an out of state game we were going to attend. When the order still had not shipped, I contacted customer service and was told expedited shipping only begins after New Era's separate 3-5 business day processing window. That information was not stated at the time of checkout unless you searched and read their shipping policy. Also, this is not how online shopping is typically interpreted. Now it is business day 6 -- beyond even their stated processing time and beyond the excuse I was given -- and the hat still has not shipped. I also replied two days ago explaining the situation and asking for help, and I have received no meaningful response. The issue is not just the delay. It's that the same in-stock item failed twice, I paid extra for expedited shipping, their checkout process did not make the timing clear, and customer service has shown no urgency in helping fix it. I run a nonprofit little league team. Purchased hats for my team and the company randomly canceled my order. I reached out to customer service to see what was going on. They mentioned to me due to fraud on my addresses they have to automatically cancel my order. I provided screen shots of the address. My Grandma who was straight off the boat from Italy was a factory worker for New Era locally for over 25 years. The online company has gone downhill. The products are great but the service sucks. There isn't a phone number to contact support or a chat group. Only email which takes days to get a response. I had to end up contacting their social media page! It's nearly 2025. The worst experience I ever encounter from a company. Horrible customer service experience. I've sent them countless of messages of giving me my money back. They partially gave me my money and then they asked me, oh, can I see the order number? I'm like, dude. I just send you pictures of everything with the order numbers and package numbers. I paid for delivery to be 2 to 4 business days, which meant it would have been delivered on the 26th at the latest. Unfortunately, it was not delivered until the 27th. I ordered 2 hats for a birthday present which was on March 23rd 2025, which i purchased on March 1, 2025 got a email that my ordered has been received and few days later got another email that my order has been shipped. I've been tracking my order. It has reached Chino, CA distribution center before it gets shipped out to my Location. Since than it hasn't been updated from March 11, 2025 got another email saying my order is getting delivered March 27, 2025 by 8pm. Emailed and called both FedEx and New Era Cap neither could give me a clear answer FedEx told me to contact the vendor and did that and New Era told me to thank you for being patient and never heard from them since today. I have had the most positive experience ordering and communicating with New Era. I am not a friend or a family member. I was concerned about all of the negative reviews I read yesterday but have had the opposite experience. I live in DC and ordered 5 hats on Wednesday, paid for the expedited shipping and received the hats today, Friday (two days) I emailed them early this morning (before I received the hats), as I had not received any information on when I could expect the delivery. Within 10 minutes, I received an automated response describing the order process and shipping times. Then, about ten minutes later I received an email from Cassidy ,a New Era Customer Service rep. She explained in more detail the turnaround time of the order. At about 12:00 noon today, FedEx deliver the package that was sent express overnight. But in the last order after my card was charged, after receiving 2 emails both confirming the purchase and confirming the shipping, I received an email telling me that due to lack of stock I would not be able to use all the products already paid for, (already having received confirmation of the shipment and that everything was ok) and that they will return the product in question to me, just like that, without any compensatory measure, without the option of an alternative, and although the minimum is that they return me, It seems to me a lack of respect and therefore an irregularity according to European standards. Because of course, if I want to buy another product I have to pay more and shipping costs and my time that they have at their disposal without any consequences. Allow me to first address the elephant in the room: I don't much care for the 59 Fifty cap. If you manage to look cool wearing one, congratulations. I on the other hand, feel like I look Super Mario's less mustached brother, but still gearing up to stomp goombas and save princesses just the same. I made the mistake of standing in line for the coveted Buffalo Bills playoff cap, and I was greatly disappointed in the flagship store of New Era. First, I needed to wait in line to enter the store, as they were only allowing a very small handful of customers in at a time. By the time I got in, they were all out of the hat I was looking for and the staff there already knew it. Understandable, seeing how the Bills are easily the NFL's hottest team for past 17 years running, however my issue is that could have been conveyed to me before standing in a 20 minute line to simply get in. Second, there was no recourse for customers that wanted to make a purchase in the store. I was told that although they were out of the hats, they MIGHT get some in later in the day (Of course, they had PLENTY in the 59 Fifty variety). Me: "Since I already waited in the line, could I place one on hold?" Them: "No." Me: "Ok. Could I pay for one now and pick it up when it gets in?" Them: "No." Me: "Alright. Well, could I special order one and have it sent straight to my house?" Them: "No. You can go on the internet, pay for shipping and handling yourself and order it that way." I went online to buy the hat I was looking for and they sent me the wrong size anyways. Living down the street from the world headquarters of New Era is a pretty cool thing, especially when you are able to stop in and browse one of the best hat stores you could ever visit as well. I brought my friend here on Friday who lives in Connecticut because who wouldn't want to visit New Era? He was blown away but the massive selection of caps from every team you could possibly think of (and of course the large selection of Buffalo Bills and Sabres stuff he would definitely not be used to seeing). My favourite part about this store is that you are actually able to snag pretty much anything you could want which for me is Blue Jays, Raptors, Maple Leafs, and Bills hats.
