I had a really good experience here today. They had a great selection of clothes and the prices were fantastic. I was only disappointed that they didn't have a good selection of dress pants. Both the fitting room attendant and the cashiers were incredibly friendly. Store was clean and organized. Came for gardening equipment. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE ANY SO WHY ARE THEY CALLED NORDSTROM RAKE? FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!! ONE STAR!!!!!?!?!!?!11111 I don't like the location because it's inside this really annoying Boulevard Square Mall where traffic is nightmarish coming from every direction and getting here from the highway even though it's half a mile away can be a real pain in the neck. Having said that, once you're actually in the store it's one of the better locations and even though there's a mass of people coming in and out of here you can sometimes find very good deals in here. But certainly massively popular with all of them Buffalo locals and you can see why. Barbie loves this particular store as well. Probably because she wasn't the one to have to drive to it. her view: The Rack is great. They have lots of brand name clothes and shoes for less than retail prices, like Ugg boots and Nike clothing. I am Petite, so while I wish that there were more 'petite-sized' options available in-store, I was able to find two tops that 'mostly' worked me to wear to an event this past weekend. The store is brightly-lit and easy to shop. There is enough to choose from for 'regular height' people, but not a lot of of options for shorter women. Pricing was as-expected. The young guy at the register laughed when I gave him my email address for the Nordy Club look-up. I have an old AOL email that I use just for shopping stuff, because I never check that email. When I said 'at AOL' he looked surprised and I told him that I had obtained that email address when the internet was invented. His laughter was so genuine, it gave me joy and made me want to shop there again real soon. read more

Who doesn't love to shop at the Rack. I find it interesting that each location caters to the local cliental. The items at this store are all right but when I lived in Oahu the Rack carried Burberry, Fendi, Louis Vuitton and Alexander McQueen. Here anything exciting is in a glass box. In the museum box there is usually a pair of shoes, a belt or two and maybe a handbag. Don't get me wrong I like to shop here but once I got it out of my head that this place carries the same brands as TJMaxx I was cool. I was also informed by an employee items are made specifically for Nordstrom Rack. You would think the store should be filled with clearance items from Nordstroms. This store is LIT every single time. Need a gown? They got you. Need kids shoes? Done. Need skin care products... right this way. Every single time I come in here I am impressed with their ability to keep that much clothing organized. Every shopping experience here is an adventure. I bought a pair of black pumps for $80 and when i went home and looked the brand up online, they were being sold for $450 on the brands website. Amazing! And the dress bombshell. read more

More like 3.5* as I didn't really find anything that I liked during my visit. It was the end of the week, so maybe they refresh their merchandise earlier on in the week? Location: Very convenient. In the same plaza as Trader Joe's, towards the back. Plaza's new, so it's very clean and there's plenty of parking. If you're a shoe lover &/or someone who has a size where it's difficult to find any shoes, either small or really big, this place is for you! About 1/3 of the store consisted of shoes and I wear a sz5 in heels and there were 3 rows of that particular size. I also saw very large women's sizes like 13-14! Since it's a Rack, there isn't a café or proactive staff. Staff was there, but basically did their own thing, and never asked if shoppers needed help. They did seem very friendly though. I looked through the racks, including clearance, and I didn't really find any 'deals', re: $0.01 leather belt in another Yelpers photos. Then again, I didn't really need any clothing. I did spot some decent deals on some good perfumes, but didn't buy. Again, I'd definitely make this a usual stop when I cross the border, but no deals to be found this day! read more

Went for the first time today and it appears the crowds have subsided. As I walked in, I saw half a dozen different people walking out having bought nothing, so I was a little concerned. The store is inexpensive compared to Nordstrom's but expensive compared to other discount stores (Burlington, Marshall's, etc.). The Men's section is along one wall and the Children's section is along another wall, but all the women's clothing are in the middle, which I found a little bizarre. There is a Plus section and a Petite section, though if you don't pay attention, it's easy to wander from one to the other. The Plus size clothing goes up to 3X and I know I saw 26 but can't remember whether they had 28. They don't have everything in every size and for some things, there were only one. There was a mix of classic pieces and on-trend clothing. I'm not into a lot of the current trends (giant shirts and sweaters, for example) but I did find about 5 items I really liked in my size. They do carry a brand of jeans I love (NYDJ - Made in the USA) in several styles and a wide range of sizes, but only one in my size. The shoes are very cute but I didn't see any Wide Width. I found a cute pair of heels but ultimately decided I can't wear a heal that high all day. You can save a lot of money on some cute Cole Haan shoes, but you're still paying almost $100 for a pair. I also checked out the kids clearance rack for some gifts and was amazed at how expensive some of the clothes were (a $50 2T dress, and $60 velour suit, and this was clearance!). All in all, I rate the place A-OK. I will go back for jeans as needed and will peruse the other racks as it doesn't take very long. read more

They seem to have a decent amount of clothes and shoes. I typically browse and then leave if I don't find what I'm looking for. There aren't as many red tagged clearance items from regular Nordstrom stores as I thought there would be, but what they have is of decent quality as I said above. I have only been in a regular Nordstrom once, so I can't compare and contrast the two. read more

Wow. Two years of planning and I finally made it here. I must preface by saying that I miss Sym's so much. That was my "to go" place when I worked a 9 to 5 job. This place is close in quality. I don't get out much, by choice. I really don't dress for success anymore however I did need some nicer items for an upcoming event. Was pleasantly surprised by the in store items. The store is by no means "inexpensive". You pay for quality. Reasonable is a term that I would use. There is a frequent shopper card that I did sign up for as I see my daughter returning frequently. Very pleased! I loved the kid's section. Men's clothing, leather goods - all cool. Sales racks are around as are plus plus size items. Went to nordstom rack yesterday to buy some winter clothing ..The cashier was very snippy with me and treated me poorly in response to my questions. after I checked out I seen at the register that you could enter to win a $150.00 gift card..when I told the cashier I would like to enter! she snapped back at me and said ..I already put it in your bag ..you dont enter here in a crazy tone. when I got home I realized that in order to enter you needed a picture from within the store which upset me because she could of at least said to me ..maam you need to take a picture of something in the store to enter! Nordstrom Rack is hit or miss for me. Sometimes I find great items at great prices. Other visits I walk away empty handed. They have a small plus-size section for clothes. Good brands, contemporary styles. I usually leave here with some clothing item in the $15-20 range. The section I REALLY love though, is the jewelry section. I have found so many cute pieces here. Earrings especially. They sell Alex & Ani and some of the bracelets are at least $10 cheaper than if you buy them at an A & A store or boutique. Of course, you take the chance that they won't have the exact item you're looking for. They also sell NYX and cool sunglasses, hats, scarves, etc. The shoe section is great too. I found a pair of Cole Haan shoes I had looked at buying at the outlet last year for $100. At the outlet, $100. Here at the Rack, they were $40 on clearance. Can't go wrong for real leather Cole Haan shoes! Again though, sometimes you win here, sometimes you lose, but it's always worth a gander! read more

Nordstrom Rack is the place to be in Amherst lately. This plaza is VERY busy so when tryign to get there and navigate through the parking lot be careful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A friend of mine went in looking for a phone case and the staff members jumped to help her. I've also had some help with finding sizes and specific items that I wanted to buy. I like shopping here, especially when they have the "clear the rack" events where there is an extra percentage off the already clearance merch. My sister was able to find a $300+ Diane Von Furstenberg (Sp?) skirt here for under 50.00 and it was in beautiful condition. You do have to dig, but if you are looking for cheap (er) designer goods this is the place. I have found good deals on Hunter boots, Zac Posen, and many other brands that you simply can't find at a TJ Maxx. The shopping carts with the clothing rack are legit. It makes it so much easier to shop and you don't have to wrinkle your high-end goods. I also was impressed by the staff in the fitting room and their knowledge of alterations that could be made to the garments. read more

I finally had a chance to check out Nordstrom Rack! I've been wanting to go since the opening. More than 400 people waited outside the day of. I wanted to wait until it was a tad less busy and I'm happy I did! While I didn't have an entirely long time to shop, I was pleased with what I saw! Nordstrom Rack is an upscale retail store, known for its high end designer and luxury clothing and accessories. The prices are comparable to outlet stores. The outside of the store is so pretty! The landscaping and building itself stand out from the rest of the plaza. Inside is gigantic! It is impeccably clean and organized. The store is arranged by designers, which makes it pretty simple if you have a favorite! Aside from the sorted designer sections, there is an athletic wear and dresses section separately. The accessories department has many options. Household items and decorations are included in this section. I was surprised to see housing items but loved them! The shoes department takes up the entire back of the store. I saw many good finds while glancing! I can't wait to go back, when I have more time. I didn't check out the men's section but that's also pretty big! The store was pretty busy! I noticed an older crowd shopping but that could just be due to the time of day I was there. Nordstrom Rack in Amherst is one of the best places to shop for designer clothing! We were there a couple of weekends ago and it has a huge selection of bags by Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade, etc. I bought two Alice + Olivia cardigans, a Daniel Rainn blouse and a pair of dress pants all for $119! The store itself is spotless and well organized which makes it easy to shop! read more

The store is pretty large ,and very clean. When you first walk in there's security at the front door. I get its a new high end store , but that was intimidating, Also when you go to the dressing room they count your items and walk you the dressing room , I felt there's no need for that since the clothes have security tags on it, The selection was okay, they do have a lot of good brand names for less, I did get a couple things ,. had to stand in line for about 15 mins which wasn't to bad the line moved fairly good, Overall it was an okay shopping experience. read more

Overall, underwhelming with the occasional splash of what I would expect to come from a Nordstrom. A lot of the clothes seem very "pedestrian" and not too different from what I would find at a nearby TJ maxx or Marshalls (Joe's, rayban, Hugo boss etc.). Once in a while I will find a brand that I feel is fitting to Nordstrom and Racks image (I.e. Burberry, carrera, Oscar De La Renta). However, this is on very rare occasion. Which to me is disappointing because I and others tend to buy it right away. Other than that it's the same run of the mill clothes, nothing really stands out. When this location opened I was very excited, I've been to many Nordstrom and Nordstrom rack across the country and have always been impressed with their high fashion offerings that Buffalo had been lacking for the longest time. However, after a few visits and seeing the same items over and over it became pretty clear that this was going to be a pretty boring location not really meeting what I expect. If I could ask one thing it would be to have more of the brands I expect of Nordstrom to be present, this is the only location anywhere around (except Toronto) that has the potential to showcase amazing brands that many stores in Buffalo don't have!! Pleaseeeeee give us more! We will buy it. Until then, I will continue to return on occasion looking for those pieces of clothing that I expect, but with low expectations of finding them. read more

I absolutely loved this place! You can find it on Niagara Falls Blvd in Amherst, right inside the same plaza as Barnes & Noble (it's located right between Petsmart and CVS). I'm actually surprised by how organized it was since I read other reviews that said you'd have to really dig. Everything was set-up super nice and it was easy to find the sizes I wanted. Clearance is way in the back, as are the shoes. If you're looking for shoes this is definitely the place to go. There were several aisles of shoes, and they even went up to a size 13! And I'm not talking just a single shelf, they had a whole display full of size 13's. I'm a size 9 and I found 2 aisles worth of shoes to look through. They only have a small plus size section in the back, so be warned. But the prices were decent. I bought my sister a plus sized shirt here that was originally sixty bucks, but marked down to about ten. Score! The workers here are also very nice, and they have a rewards program you can sign up for. I also liked that they had plenty of mirrors around the store, so i didn't have to trek all the way over to the dressing room just to try on jackets and blazers. So I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good bargain. I found a lot of nice tops in the 20 dollar range. read more

I was very excited when I heard the news about Nordstrom Rack coming to Buffalo. If you're like myself..I enjoy buying designer things but don't enjoy paying the expensive prices. (I know...champagne taste on a beer budget). That's why this place is great...you get designer clothes at discounted rates. Still a little bit pricey compared to non designer clothing but hey what do you expect. You get what you pay for! Nordstrom Rack has all of my favorite brands...from Michael Kors, to Rebecca Minkoff, to Tory Burch, to even Converse. They have a great selection and styles that could fit everyone. Literally. They have a women's, men's, and children/baby's section. They also have a shoes and accessories section as well, which also includes household items. I love that they have athletic wear as well. Nordstrom is very convenient because you can accommodate all of your shopping needs in the same place without having to run around to different stores. The staff is very friendly and happy to help you and the dressing rooms are very clean. Only downfall is that it's quite big of a place so you need to have some time to browse through everything. You need to be in the right state of mind when you come here as it takes time to sort through their things. Without a doubt, they have great prices compared to department stores. Large selection of clothing including: dresses, outerwear, shirts, sweaters, pants, shorts, skirts, activewear, literally everything. A lot of their things are separated on racks by size which I kind of like because I know which stands not to waste my time at, but it means you need to sort through a lot of different things to find what you like. They have great deals on coats and shoes, that's where I have the most luck here. Lots of designer bags, jewelry and watches for a great price. Their perfumes are about 30% less expensive than the ones I buy from Ulta across the complex, it's a no brainer to come here! Their hair products are cheaper than Ulta too. It's a great place to go if you're looking for a gift for somebody, they really have something for everyone. They have a very small home goods section with some blankets and pillows, random things such as iPhone and iPad cases and cute random candy packages you won't find in your regular grocery store. They have a great cold weather section too filled with scarves, gloves and hats. Definitely an upgrade from the arts and crafts store that was here before. read more

I finally made it to Nordstrom Rack on NF Boulevard! I thought maybe I had a death wish going at 2pm on a Saturday, but it was surprisingly not that crowded. I also came back 3pm-ish on a weekday and found it not too busy. My only other Nordstrom Rack experience has been the Legacy Village location in Cleveland. Compared to that store, this store definitely has that more modern, upgraded feel and it was much more organized and tidy. I think that this store probably varies greatly on what is really trendy as of late via mid to higher end designers, and doesn't have as much variety as I would probably like. The tops mostly were not totally my style, and I didn't see much that jumped out to me right now, but that could be different in a couple of months. I did manage to find a couple pair of jeans though which is mainly why I went here! I had to go up a size in the designer brands, but I got pairs that run from $70-120 each normally for $45-50 each. They'll probably last me longer too. I washed/wore one pair and they didn't immediately get saggy and fit nicely for a whole day of sitting through meetings! While there is a lot of stuff, they did seem to have a good handle on keeping it organized. I hate when I go to a rack with my size and half of it is random other sizes mixed in. Nothing like spotting something cool to see it is not for you! If you are in the upper end of "straight"/misses sizing (14-18), I recommend looking at the Plus sizes because they may put some of your sizes there and some designers cut small. I thought the Plus size if you are above the 14-16-18 range was somewhat small, especially in pants. I had just bought a couple pairs at the Outlets, so I briefly went through shoes on my 2nd trip. I wear a 10-11, and Nordstroms definitely has the largest selection for us ladies with big feet compared to any other store. I saw Nike sneakers starting at $39, different varieties of Ugg shoes and boots, and more. They have dedicated racks to more designer brands. A lot of boots/booties right now. Their clearance items aren't super drastically marked down, but they are semi current items and not something you would never envision wearing. Most shoes are a little more pricey than I would care to spend as I could get it cheaper and I am tough on shoes. If you want name brand workout wear, they have lots of that. Also a good selection of dresses and a moderate selection of coats for February. They have a small home section, more with items for the current holiday/season. The also sell some skin care/makeup/hair care from nail polish to TIGI shampoo and hair appliances. Tucked in that corner is also shapewear, lingerie, and PJs. Purse/small leather goods section was somewhat small for the size of the rest of the store. I am a Coach "carrier", and they had a nice selection with decent discount prices. These were mid range full price (not the factory store line of lower quality) bags and wallets. The bags were prices better than the wallets/clutches, but they looked to be in good shape. They also had a a good amount of Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and some other brands. A nice feature: Wall racks in the hallway in front of the bathrooms to leave any potential purchases if you need to use the facilities. Worth looking at their website too as they accept returns in store from there. Online and In-store returns have 90 days too which is generous compared to most department or outlet stores right now! read more

Awesome store with a great selection of merchandise! The shoe section is huge and you can find just about anything you need in there. They also have a lot of makeup and hair products that are way cheaper than other stores. I got a 50 dollar eye shadow palette for only 19 dollars :D read more

It's finally here! Nordstrom Rack has made its way to the WNY region! This store has lived up to the hype. First of all, it's HUGE! There is a massive selection of items. Second, they have such a variety of sizes for women, including petites and shoe sizes! I had many conversations with the women who shared my shoe size because we were so impressed with the selection. Third, the staff is fantastic. You can tell they are really excited that the store is open and that they love their job. If you're willing to spend the time to look around then you can get amazing deals. I spent over two hours in the store and wished I could keep looking. I am also looking forward to purchasing clothing from Nordstrom Rack online because I have a physical place to make returns instead of needing to mail it back. I'm going to look into having my paycheck direct deposited to the store. They can just take my money. read more

So Yeah.....um yes! Today was my 1st time in this store and let me tell you...Yes! I made out with 2 pairs of shoes and a few tops and that's really rare for me in a single store (I do much better online). One negative is that the clothing options for men, like many other stores is scarce. There's always that one designated mini corner that most "female-oriented" stores have that kinda make even carrying men's clothing pointless. Well... there was my few seconds of sympathizing with my fiance's issue of finding more than a few fully stocked, reasonably priced men's clothing stores. I was ok-ed by the Women's clothing. They had plenty of clearance racks and discounted racks throughout the store. But real treasure here is the shoes!! Both men's and women's shoes are an amazing selection to choose from. My fiance found a pair of snazzy dress shoes in the isles and isles of inventory. And what great prices! I am so love with the 2 pairs of shoes that I found in here!! Love the new addition to the WNY shopping landscape. I have had very hit or miss experiences but that is what I expect for any outlet. I got a great pair of Malono's and Ferregamos as well on two separate occasions. I take a very standard 7 to 7 1/2 in heels which I find challenging. I also walked away way with Hudson jeans twice for under $60 which works for me. My daughter also finds the kids section really fun and the lingerie section can't be beat! Happy Shopping! read more

I can't honestly even give them a one star as they deserve no stars! I am done with this store I was embarrassed and made to feel like a criminal last night when I tried to make a return and just wanted it out back on the original form of payment which was debit and Nordstrom credit however they said they'd have to put it all back in Nordstrom card which I did not want, the employees were whispering and embarrassing me in front of other customers there were 2 young employees there as well as an acting manager who kept insisting that she had to put it all back on credit card to the point of getting nasty about it! They called security on me and I finally got in my phone to try to contact Nordstrom corporate office I asked for my item back and the woman didn't even want to put it back in the bag and she pulled the tag off! Security followed me out of the store and I sat in my car for a few minutes while I was on the phone and security stood in front of the store until I drove away! Really? I'm a 58 year old woman wth did they think I was going to do? All I wanted was to have my return refunded the same way it was purchased!!!!
