Such a cute shop!! Love looking around here -- there's great turnover, so every few months the store is basically entirely filled with new items to discover. They have really thoughtful organizing (especially compared to other thrift/vintage/second-hand stores) with everything clearly organized by size and type of item, then typically by color within that, so it's really easy to find items that will fit you. A great selection of accessories like shoes, bags, and jewelry too! The selling process always goes very smoothly too. The website and their social media have lots of clear info on how the process works and what kinds of items they're looking for, and really makes what could be a complicated process super simple. read more

There's a variety of styles and price ranges in the store. For example, you will find a rack of Free People items right at the front of the store when you enter. This trendy label appeals to the younger, fashion-conscious, crowd. And then scattered throughout the store, especially in the back, there are styles that look a bit dated and ordinary. There are some high-price designer items as well. I think their jewelry section is rather blah. I've never bought jewelry from them. All sorts of used handbags and practically new shoes. Both my teenage daughter and I have bought clothes from here. Something for everyone. What I like about consigning my gently used clothes with this business is that they itemize the clothing that you give them. When the consignment period is over in 3 months, you know exactly which item sold and how much money you will get for it. Unlike another consignment store in the area that just gives you a number for your items and never tells you exactly what sold. Becomes a mystery. And then you have to hunt all over the place to find your items that didn't sell if you want them back. But here, I ask for items that don't sell back and they keep them for me to pick up within a window of time. They take appointments on their website for consigning your things the first few days of the month only. It's very organized and I appreciate that. They may not take many of the items you hope to consign. But at least they're honest and organized. read more

After winning a gift card to Second Chic at a basket raffle, I was introduced to this store (I also checked out the Elmwood location). I have come here twice now and I really like it! I don't normally consider myself a thrifter, but I found this store well-organized by style and size and a mix of trendy and classic selections. The staff is very friendly and helpful! The price tags are different colors and the staff, and signs all over the store will tell you which color tags are on sale and what percentage off. The staff can also help you find things, or find similar items if you like something that doesn't fit. They have ample, clean fitting rooms. They will let you know if something looks good on ya! They have a reward program and I don't remember the exact details but I think it's 1 point per dollar spent and at some number of rewards points you get $5 or $10 off. The Williamsville location only carries ladies clothing but the Elmwood location has some men's selections. I think the only thing I didn't like was when I find something I love but it's not in my size, but the bright side is you can go home and try to find it by searching online. After my visit here, I left with 2 items and hunted down 2 other items I loved but were the wrong size online. It's also a fun place to experiment with styles you may not usually wear. Consignment is by appt only so go to their website to set up a date and time for them to go through your items. There is no pressure to buy and it's a very comfortable shopping environment (I took forever in there to be honest). So come have a look! You never know what you may find. read more

had an appt, was 15 minutes early. there were no other ppl waiting and so i stood there - young woman told me she would take me when the appt time came no sooner. she looked at the computer and ate her lunch. when the appt time came, she curtly told me to shop around the store and she would call me when she was done. i told her i didnt want to shop, i was in some pain and preferred to stay there. it took her a whole 2 minutes to go thru the clothes, mostly not taking anything except 1 item. she has very poor customer service skills, extremely poor. read more

Horrifying customer service... I was in the store when I heard the counter lady yelling at woman for missing her appointment.. ! Really? They had this poor lady in tears literally crying ... apparently she had been a long time customer and consignor for many years there buying clothes there and bringing items in for them to resell they were humiliating this poor woman telling her she missed her appointment and she was banned and leave the store immediately.... I found it outrageous that anyone could treat a senior that way especially who is a long time customers... shame on this place .. read more

Cute store with name brand items and good vibes, however they do carry some counterfeit coach bags. When this was brought to the attention of the owner she did not appear to know (or pretended not to) about the authentication process for these bags. As the owner, you would think one would be more thorough with their buying/selling process, especially when you're charging upwards of $100 for some of these bags. In addition, these bags are often very dirty and can be found in other resale sites for more reasonable prices and in better condition. One of the fake bags was listed for sale "as is" for $68 and the strap was attached to the bag with what appeared to be clear fishing line. Be cautious when buying "designer" items, as it appears the store does not verify if the items are indeed real. read more

For some reason, I never stopped in here - something about me getting it my head that this place had gotten some negative reviews somewhere, and it turned me away? But I can't seem to find any such reviews that speak poorly about this place, and I know now that they definitely don't deserve such theoretical negativity! It's the summer of skirts for me - lately, it's all I've been shopping for. They make me look great, and they feel awesome! I swear this place was reading my mind, because right when I walked in, the first rack I saw was stuffed with skirts! I ended up finding one in particular that was just the sort of thing I've been looking for. I even brought home a cute vest, which was something I could only hope to find in a consignment shop. It all came around to $20 or so, which isn't too bad. Overall I was very impressed with their clothing selection, and I definitely recognized a few brands as I browsed. There were also a great number of bags, different kinds of jewelry, and shoes scattered around the store. There's a section for men's clothes as well! They only take clothes from the 5th-10th of each month, and I like that they generally only take outfits that are still fashionable. They have tag sales - each piece has a different color tag, and there will sometimes be discounts depending on the color (when I went it was 25% off green, and 50% off purple). What an absolute shopping pleasure! The store is spotless, the staff are sweet and the merchandise is on point.

Well this is a nice little find in the heart of the Village of Williamsville. I was pleasantly greeted and felt free to browse the variety of goods. Another customer was equally friendly as she was trying on jeans. As it was a change of seasons, the shop was in transition: there was some leftover summer merchandise and new fall pieces taking their places. Shoes (um, no thanks), scarves and costume jewelry were plentiful. If I was in the market for accessories I'd definitely keep Second Chic in mind. read more

I've never been to the Second Chic on Elmwood, but if this location is indicative in any way of it, I'll be stopping by there soon as well. The layout of this location is very clean and it is easy to find what you may be looking for. There are quite a few high end and luxury brand items that are very gently used. They seem to be very thoughtful and take care of what it is they accept for consignment and sell. The staff is very helpful, and overall, I'm quite impressed! I visited this store while visiting relatives during the holidays. It looked like a nice local business so I thought I would try. I was greeted when I walked in, told what the specials were & left to shop. I bought a necklace and a ring. They have many nice things however a bit expensive, but I love supporting local businesses - there is always a special and they give 20% off full priced items on your birthday. Guess what today is - my birthday - so I made a special 2nd trip to Second Chic in Williamsville. Glad I made it there before 3pm since they are closing early on NYE. I went specifically to buy a shawl I saw a few days ago. I walked right in, put it on & shopped around for a few more things. After about 10 minutes I realized the sales people were talking to each other (one was trying on things & getting feedback from the other). No one said anything to me. Another 10 minutes go by, salesperson walks near me, putting away clothes, makes no eye contact, says nothing to me (can I help you find anything?, did you notice we close at 3? [it was like 2:15], that's a great shawl, isn't it?). I walked up to the counter & waited (other salesperson was out of the changing room now) - no one came to the counter or asked if I was ready to go. This is not a big store. At the 30 minute mark I asked if they both worked there? Joyfully she said, yes & I said because no one spoke to me. That, of course, was followed by apologies but I was done being ignored, voting with my feet - I hung the shawl back up & I said "I was going to buy this but now I'm not." as I left the store. Perhaps I'm overreacting & may be a little sensitive since I was the only person of color in the store and it is my birthday. I told my sister about this shop the other day - she lives close by. When I returned from my special trip, she asked me if I got the shawl - no: were they closed? - no; WAS IT Gone?! -no & then I told her what happened. Safe to say she won't be a new customer and I probably will not return either. Life is too short to shop where you don't feel welcome. read more

This is a very large and beautifully maintained shop. It's exciting to walk in and consider the possibilities. A caveat to the review -- I have been in only once, but was there for nearly an hour and perused each rack pretty thoroughly. From this visit (12 June 2017), I found the clothes to be considerably overpriced. Yes, it is a curated collection and carefully laid out, but I have been to many comparative stores across the country and the prices here are just a tad too high. If I was to put a percentage on it, items are about 30% higher than they should be.It advertises men's clothes but the section is tiny -- probably about only 10% of the shop.Now to the main issue with the shop, in my opinion, are the actual consigned clothes. They boast "designer" but a large percentage are from the late 1980s or early 1990s. Think Tess Magill's wardrobe from "Working Girl." I don't have any issue with the conservative nature of the clothes -- the targeted audience is not for UB or Daemon, but mature, if not senior women. Ultimately, the combination of the inflated prices and how dated the offerings are render this store rather "meh." Maybe a stop a couple of times a year, but not more than that. read more

This is my favorite consignment store! I live in Rochester but get my hair done down the street from this store. I make it a habit to stop in here at each haircut! I always find at least 2 things I like which are usually between $15-18 (cheaper if there's a sale). Associates have always been friendly. Sometimes the shoppers have been annoying (arguing their costs/funds from items brought in for sales...), but definitely not the store'a fault (just those it attracts). I would come here more often if I lived closer and would recommend to my friends! read more

Not impressed. This was our first time in and we decided to check it out since they advertised a half off sale. When we got inside, there was an associate assisting a customer and she did not acknowledge us at all. That's fine, I guess. Saying hello makes the world of difference for first impressions. Or even a smile would have been appropriate. Anyways, not everything was half off and some was 25% off. The store was laid out nicely. I think the prices were a bit high considering some of the things can be found at local thrift stores. Walked back a little farther to find another associate, who again didn't acknowledge us. The cherry on top and the main reason for the poor rating...I was browsing the purses, their phone rang, associate #1 picked it up to hand it to associate #2...directly in front of my face. Had I not moved back I would have had a phone to the face. No excuse me, no pardon me. Manners are easy and free. We will absolutely not be back after this 20 minute encounter. read more

I've been here maybe 10 times, each time the girls never look up from their cell phones to acknowledge me unless I was at the counter trying to pay. I usually go in after the gym so I'm not the most put together and the most recent time the girls gave me the look up and down like I didn't belong there. Won't be back, won't recommend. read more

I love Second Chic . It's got a lot of real cool clothes. The store is very neat , and its wheelchair friendly which is Awesome ! Such a great selection of high end designers clothing at amazing prices. The staff is really particular about what comes in for consignment, which means everything is going to be in great condition.
