Riley answered the phone and gave me a quick review of what they had in store and made me realize I better stop in. When I got there, she helped me find the perfect pair. Although they were a half size bigger than what I would have ordered and a different color than I had in mind, they ended up being the perfect Sorel wedge sandal and now I'm obsessed. I also was able to use my 30% off bday coupon, which you can use pretty much everything (excludes Birkenstock and another prestige brand I can't think of). What a great deal! Riley also told me I could "double dip" and head over to Sunshine and Bluebirds (right next door). That's where I found more of the Teleties hair clips. These are so great because they lay flat, which omits the uncomfortable feeling of driving with a clip on the back of your head. Brittany who was working at the store, was beyond friendly and easy to talk to. The customer service alone makes me want to go back to both Research and Design & Sunshine and Bluebirds. Located in the CVS plaza on Center street with a big parking lot and easy access. The workers are pleasant, welcoming and ready to answer any questions. Staff was incredibly rude and judgmental. Many of their clothing doesn't come in a size bigger than a large which is incredibly disappointing. The store is not at all inclusive. The employees seem to do more talking than working. Two girls sat and talked while I shopped upstairs which was alright since I was just browsing and then when I went to try clothes on they kept trying to get me to try more things to find ways to "style" what I already had picked out. It seemed they cared more about making money than leaving customers to shop in peace. One employee also seemed... hungover or something. If you aren't a size 0 or extremely wealthy don't even bother visiting this store you will leave with nothing and will be disappointed with the character of the employees. After stopping into the Amherst location, and seeing their extremely limited sizing I decided to dm this store on instagram to ask if they had inclusive sizing. The message I received back was very nice and they let me know they carry extensive sizing and they would be more than happy to have me come in and they would help me. Upon driving out to the OP location, there was not a single size over L on any racks in their store. When I asked for assistance, I got passed off to a different sales person who was less than thrilled to be helping me. She pulled 3 things that "might fit". I did find a pair of pants but was looking for a shirt and she completely left and refused to acknowledge me for any further assistance. If I didn't have a gift card, I would had walked out without anything. This was by far the most uncomfortable shopping experience I've ever had. read more

Great store for ladies clothing and apparel. My wife loves their stuff so I did some Christmas shopping here for her. The staff was helpful and friendly. Many items to select from and seem to have been fairly priced. It's located in an old two story house like building that has been fully restored and converted to retail space. Lots of accessories to choose from including hand bags and shoes. The atmosphere is trendy and the interior is rustic. I like the fact that they wrapped everything I bought free of charge. This place really stole my heart. I walked in not really knowing what to expect, as the rustic barn exterior can kind of throw you off. But when I walked in, I was more than pleased. The design on the inside reminds me of my bedroom at home, warm with light and neutral colors. And the jewelry and clothing selections are top notch. What I had originally went in for was sold out in my size, and the worker offered to take my name and email and phone and will call me when the size that I need comes in (talk about customer service). Research and design is my favorite place to shop in the Buffalo area. Their selection of clothing and accessories makes them stand out compared to other places in the area. They always have the best jeans, coats, T-shirt's, sweats and jewelry! I also want to mention the customer service. Mark and Mary make shopping there fun. They are honest when you ask their opinion which I greatly appreciate! They are also great at picking options that I wouldn't necessarily pick myself. I have been pleasantly surprised many times! Shopping for clothing in Western New York isn't always easy but this store gives me hope and I can always find something here that I love! Research and Design promised to be hip and fun, and after several visits, I'm pleased to say it is as fabulous as the renovated space it's located in. In the heart of Orchard Park, the store's sleek finishes and modern style evokes the feeling of being in another city. The owners are enthusiastic and educated about the brands they carry. They offer Malin + Goetz bath and beauty products, including lotions, hair masks, lip balms and more, which are wonderful and hard to find in WNY. They may be the only area retailer carrying the line. Their Butter London nail polish selection is impressive--more colors offered at once than anywhere in the area that I've seen. The store's clothing clearly focuses on quality, not just trend. Their tees, denim and more offer a rainbow of colors and tend to stick with classic solids and stripes. They have fashion favorites like James Perse, Vince, Olive & Oak, AG Adriano Goldschmied and Blank NYC. With few WNY department stores or boutiques carrying these, this store is even more of a welcome addition. They also have items by peace love world, which makes comfy clothing and accessories. Think cute yoga pants, workout gear and stylish loungewear. They even carry some baby and children's clothing and accessories. There are plenty of accessories (deux lux bags and wallets, scarves, etc.), in addition to a great selection of beautiful flats by Yosi Samra, as well as dressier pumps from Pour La Victoire, a shoe company from France. There is a huge display of jewelry, with a low end line that's perfect for grabbing some trendier pieces, and higher end pieces. There's also have Dogeared jewelry, which makes great gifts. It's impossible to depart the jewelry section without a few goodies. Lastly, the second floor has fitting rooms, denim, and an art gallery. What a cool idea in a truly beautiful space. Stopped in when I was in the Southtowns because I have heard great things. The staff is very friendly. The store which is an old barn is very bright and neatly organized. They have all sorts of things: jewelry, candles, stationary, clothing ( high end brands, like what the Tony Walker has), shoes and handbags. Research and Design is a small, family-owned boutique in the village of Orchard Park. My sister stumbled in to RD on a visit from out of town and demanded to know why I hadn't told her about it. Well, I had never been in, so on her next visit we went together. Immediately, I knew why my sister had fallen in love with this shop. They have a great selection of clothing and jewelery as well as other small items at a variety of price points. I expected that everything would be over-priced and overly trendy but it is really just right. Don't get me wrong, you will find the hot trends here but it's not over the top. I think my favorite thing to shop here is their jewelry and accessories. They've got stuff that I like and there's lots for me to buy for my very fashionable sister (who is also a burgeoning yogi.) The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful at Research and Design. I was down the street at my chiropractor when I thought, "Oh, I'll pop on Yelp to see if there are any gift stores around". Like another Yelper, I also walked in not knowing what to expect. There were 3 lovely helpful people on the inside, ready to help me- and they did. I found a lovely gift for my MIL- a sweater that converts 3 ways and a scarf to match. I also picked up early bday gifts for my niece's bday (yes, they have a little corner for kid and baby gifts) and a shirt for me. I WILL be back because this could NOT have been an easier shopping experience. They even gift-wrapped everything- I just LOVE that! This boutique has beautiful clothes. Unfortunately they are WAY overpriced. A nice, pastel colored plaid shirt runs about $148.00. I can think of much better ways to spend that money. One way is to buy a plane ticket to NYC. Small items like candles and jewelry are more affordable. I was hoping to depend on this lovely, unique shop for gifts and clothing needs, but I was so turned off by the prices, I don't plan on returning much less buying anything. read more

I had noticed some activity around the old "Barn" in the village that was a ski shop when I was a young girl (about a hundred years ago) and about the same time I saw a sign emerge, my daughter-in-law told me about this new store and suggested we stop in. I am so glad we did! The owners, a nice young couple, were there and told us how they had been working on the building for a while which was obviously successful, as it was cool and chic with clean lines and nicely organized. I WANTED to shop there. Their jewelry ranged from extremely reasonable to a little more costly, but nothing really expensive. However, the selection was remarkable. Some really new and distinctive items that appealed to me and my 28 y.o. companion. Their upscale clothing lines were sleek and classic, yet current with a heavy concentration on denim. Some of the denim lines were quite expensive but there is a market for them here in the Southtowns, as well as on Elmwood and in Williamsville. They also carry some children's items, as well as shoes and boots. Their vegan "leather" jackets were beautiful; soft, colorful and nicely designed. The skin care line, Malin+Goetz, is incredible. We received a generous sample of several of their products with our purchases and I will definitely go back for full sizes. Upstairs there was more clothing, but also an art gallery, with items for sale. This is a wonderful addition to Orchard Park and very worthy of a trip here by anyone in Western New York looking for unique shopping. read more
