The sales team is very shady with their tactics. I wanted to buy a certain item. I asked them how many they had and they said 1 only. I bought the item and a day or two later they list another one at a higher price and won't honor the old price. Then I buy the item and a day or two later list another raising the price again. They claimed to only have 1 yet in the past 30 days I've ordered 7 of them and there's currently another one listed on their website. Of course they raised the price 10% after waiting 25 hours to post it on the site. And of course they can't price match it because it's not within 24 hours. (The fact that they took more than 24 hours to post it on their site doesn't matter) My account rep said they'd price match a price within the last 24 hours. They take 25-26 hours to post another item in stock to get around that price matching. Very sketchy and slimy sales team. Reflects poorly on the owners and the company as a whole. I gave them 2 stars simply because the shipping has been quick. read more

This is a great place to go if you like sports, collect trading cards, or need any great gifts. They really have everything from sports cards to trading card games on one side of the store, and then sports merchandise like jerseys and clothing on the other side. I went in to browse around and see if anything sounded good before the start of the football season. That was a mistake for my wallet because everything looked like I needed it. They do a great job of keeping everything organized here. Sabres and Bills stuff in different sections, sports cards and trading cards broken down into different spots on the other side. They also have so much room for the events that they hold here. Along with the amount of product they have, they also have some cool pop culture collectibles on display which makes the whole place have a fun feel. Service here is good. Sometimes the value is a little high. Some markups on trading cards could be a little lower but oh well, that's the sign of the times I guess. I made a purchase on line. Then I get the spam. Every day. Never subscribed to it. Keep "unsubscribing" to the spam I never subscribed to. And email. "How do I get of your email list?" I go through the website. And it keeps coming. I email some more. And I email. And I email. No response. And make no mistake. They're seeing my emails, they just choose to not respond and not take me off their list. For the love of god this is how you treat people who's spent hundreds at your business? One guy on reddit spent weeks trying to get them to take him off their list, a guy at Dave and Adam's told him to "f off" and they weren't taking him off any list. Honesty, I had to read it a couple times because I couldn't believe what the guy was saying but it surely fits. So this is this Dave and Adams. Hostile jerks who will not take people off their list. This isn't Sleazy Horace's Sex Emporium. This is an established business who apparently get off on being jerks to customers. I've never seen anything like it. Clearly you're not looking for repeat customers. Honestly, think of all the future business these people have lost because of this behavior. I will never give these people another dime. Ever. There are other great places to buy cards that treat their customers like they want them to come back: Steel City Sportscards and Giant Sportscards are two great places to get sports cards on line - I highly recommend those places. Update: A guy at this place finally emailed me and said "It looks like you've unsubscribed yourself from all of our email promotions. The only way to be subscribed again is by submitting your email address. You should not have problems moving forward." I did not respond or anything. The spam is still coming. I literally hit "unsubscribe" 40 times before. Still coming. They're just trying to be dicks on purpose. I love the location and layout of this building. They did an excellent job keeping it organized and showcasing everything. Very wide selection of sports memorabilia and trading cards, price on most of the singles and boxes seem a little high compared to the market but not bad prices overall. I would double check online before purchasing as you might be able to find a better deal elsewhere. I have bought pokemon cards from here several times and I have enjoyed it but... the way they sell certain sealed products at market price is a little scummy. The single prices are fair and I will still purchase them but paying $130 for a $50 dollar etb is too much. As well as a $175 dollar booster box for $225 is just too much. Was in NY visiting family (we just got back), took my nephews to this store as they are big Pokemon card guys, which I know nothing about. They said the prices were not that good but I told them I was paying and to get what they want. The guy behind the counter is as grumpy a jerk as there is. I do not understand it. This is how you treat little kids? People who want to give you money to buy stuff in your store? Like they're putting you out? I swear the guy behind the counter mumbled something about a*****e - I'm not positive it's what he said but he was definitely a jerk. I grabbed my nephews and told them we need to get out of this store. This is not a place for families or kids. And now I'm reading other reviews and see what a poorly run venue this is. Great place to go to if you're a collector, sports fanatic, or a gamer. There is a wide selection of local Buffalo team gears that you can buy at a more reasonable price than the sports arenas. Just a fantastic store. We came out for New Years weekend to see the Sabres and Bills (both won which was obviously a plus..). I usually make a point of coming here as I'm out here for work a few times a year as well. There's a tactical way to shop at this place..if you don't mind players who are no longer on the Bills and Sabres, you can get dirt cheap jerseys. Additionally, I picked a couple of autographed jerseys by ex-Sabres that are considerably less than current players (an added bonus..they are the 1970-80s vintage home and away jerseys). It's kind of a holy grail of Buffalo sports...including mugs, pint glasses, license plate frames etc. The winter hat collection is lacking...but apparently this is due to licensing issues (they cant sell a lot of Sabres hats). Well worth your time to save a lot of money...no need to shop at the arena's anymore. One thing...most of this stuff cant be purchased online, so you need to actually get out to Western NY.... do this stop on the way to a game or to Niagara Falls. read more

My family was out looking for a comic book store and this wasn't it. I wasn't impressed. The store is mainly sports gear that appears to be overpriced. The kicker is even though they a have comic book section it is very limited. They claim to be the home of the 50 cent comic book but that was for obscure comics and none of the boxes available had DC or Marvel. What little current comics they had were very limited. read more

Wow I was so impressed when I walked through the doors. This place is massive, from sports clothes, memorabilia, comic books, video games and so much more. This is one of two locations around Buffalo, NY. I heard about this place after seeing announcement on twitter for a sports celebrity signing onsite. Christian Laettner of Duke basketball and the famous "shot" was going to be signing items and tickets were only available in the store for purchase. The staff was super helpful for being my first time there. They answered all my questions and were so patient. They offer a ton of local sports team items, from SU and Buffalo bills lego sets to BBQ sets so many individual and unique items. I must stop for any sports fan! read more

This store once used to be a mecca of everything they sold. The store was packed with product and customers. Over time, the store's selection has gotten smaller and smaller, crappier and crappier as time has gone on. I started shopping at D&A right before DC relaunched their comics with Rebirth. I wanted to get back into comics and didn't know where or when, but I met an amazing employee who knew her stuff. I subscribed and traveled 20 minutes there every Wednesday to give them my business, and over the next few years, I watched the store fall into a state of despair. The employee was let go as a way of cutting costs, and they lost most of their comic book business. Which shouldn't really matter, seeing this is a sports and card store, but clearly, it mattered a lot. The owners really should stop cutting costs and put a little more time, effort, and clearly some money into making the store look better. Do a better job of blocking off the areas in the back instead of using those lame folding poster door room separators. Hire a merchandiser to make the store actually look good. My friend who is a massive Bills and Sabres fan came up from New Jersey, and we walked the store today. Two years ago, she left with over $400 worth of merchandise. Today, we left with nothing. Sad. I'd leave zero stars if it was possible. read more

I've been buying from Dave and Adam's online for about a year now and they've always been fast, reliable and accurate. My last shipment was not, it came with 2 out of 12 boxes I ordered. I emailed my representative Kevin immediately to ask what happened. He not only got back to me within 12 hours, he credited me for my troubles (caused by system upgrade) and shipped out remaining product with 1-Day Shipping. I've never felt so taken care of, I know mistakes happen, I make them all the time. I go here all the time and still do To this day and I kick myself in my butt for doing so yes they got a variety of all sorts but they also up charge everything in the store I bought a card for 30$ just to turn around and look on eBay for it to be 4$ I also noticed they over mark cheap things they want to get rid of just to put a half off sign up for it still to be 20$ over priced to me they are a legal robbery but like I said I still shop there because there's not a lot of options to shop at so I guess they can do what they want read more

Took my son to buy Pokémon cards, the single cards in the case. He picked a $10 one and employee took it to the register. (Also employee was pissed and verbalize that he was waiting to go to lunch and huffed that he had to continue to work) Bought card and my son looked around alittle more, then he pulled out card to look at it in front of a new employee at counter, and discovered card was bent. I asked if they had another he could exchange for, the guy looked at me and rolled his eyes and said they don't exchange or refund cards. We were there the whole time, he looked at it in front of him. So never again, ebay has them cheaper and less wannabe tough guys working behind counters. Terrible customer service!! read more

Thousands of comics and graphic novels are also available. Unopened boxes are the highlight. Every major release is here. Contests and giveaways are another good highlight of this store. Collectible card games like Pokémon and Magic the Gathering are quite prominent here as well. A large section of the store is also devoted to video games and board games. If there was an option to give 0 stars I would. First of all the prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced where they are charging 4x or 5x of retail prices. If you're looking for sports cards, Buffalo sports merchandise and generally nerdy items, Dave & Adam's has it all. This "megastore" location is about the size of a standard Walmart. The front half of the store is loaded with sports jerseys and other collectibles, while the back half is given over to the nerd stuff. There's a sizeable collection of all the latest board games (the best I saw in the Buffalo-Niagara area), though if you're looking for older games you'd do best to look elsewhere. They've got tons of comics, a few arcade machines, and my favorite part, older collectible action figures. They've got Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe, GoBots, and lots of other series from the 80s and 90s. Usually stores like this are small, musty affairs with items jammed into display cases, but I was getting flashbacks to my childhood of searching Kmart for the latest Transformers. Everything here is so spread out, it's easy to see everything in the cases, and you're not tripping over other customers while browsing. The Transformers they had were all in excellent condition and clearly marked as to their completeness. Prices were a little on the high side, but you get the benefit of instant gratification. The clerk seemed somewhat annoyed when I wanted to inspect the toys after he took them out of the case, but maybe he was having a bad day. Great place. Bright, clean, inviting, and spacious. I realize that the big draw is sports-related merchandise, but I really appreciate the fact that a good chunk of the store is devoted to Magic the Gathering and boardgames. Finally something in the Williamsville-Amherst-Clarence triangle for the serious gamer. Friday Night Magic is on (....drumroll...) Fridays, and boardgaming events take place on Saturdays, usually from noon to close. There is a really nice selection of demo games including X-Wing Miniatures, Star Wars Armada, Ticket to Ride, and Splendor - a bit of everything for anyone interested in the modern boardgames. read more
