In the spirit of being upfront, I want any that read this to know that I've been a friend of the owner for many years, for some this may mean that I'll go easy on the business instead of being objective. Because I know Jason and the kind of person he is I have higher standards for this store than any other game store I've Patronized. Casual Dragon Games is, simply put, an amazing store. They have a great selection of Board, Card, RPG, and Miniature based Games. They offer a very active calendar of free gaming based events (Open board gaming, Role Playing Games etc) and some Buy in Events (Magic the Gathering Drafts as an example). The owner is very well versed in many of these games and in most cases can even show you how to play the game you purchase. Because Jason is also a game designer he has a lot of experience in explaining tough directions to a player, in an easily understood way. Now for any that have read my reviews of places like this, they will have seen that I've reviewed other stores also. Casual Dragon offers almost all the same services, snacks for gamers playing in open game night, tradeable magic cards and a space to try out your new game. This is where Casual Dragon Games easily beats its competition because not only is there one room to have open gaming in or to play your newly bought game. There are several game rooms for this. Other stores have large areas but they don't have separated rooms. The noise level becomes a problem on high traffic nights for them, but Casual Dragon doesn't have this issue. He also has a couple of sellers that sell their items on consignment. Mark (the coordinator of Lil'con) sells used console systems and games here (I just bought a N64 and some fun games for my son here), and Mike from mikescustomdicetrays on etsy sells custom made dice boxes here as well. But the real kicker that puts this store at the head of the pack is the Escape Room that Jason has engineered here. His prices for groups are reasonable (and lower than most escape rooms) and his, is by far the most challenging I've ever been through (In fact is the only one I didn't escape from) All in all, this store is amazing, come check it out and be prepared to get your Geek on!

Games to demo - 2 or 3 time the amount from my first visit.

I went in today and the game selection has almost doubled. The demo games have also doubled, maybe even tripled in variety. This place has earned the five stars that I hoped it would.

The owner, Matt, is incredibly helpful and a great guy. Back when I first started playing Magic I went to a few other stores until I finally ended up here and Matt took the time to analyze my deck and recommend improvements. (worth mentioning he was NEVER pushy for me to buy any of the cards he recommended) After my first experience here, I never went to another store again and never will even though there's a lot that are closer to me. Beginner at Magic? Go ask for some help putting together you're first ever deck, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and is always happy to help out. Experienced Magic player? Definitely go to a game night here! Monday's are Casual Commander, Wednesday's are $5 entry Modern, and Friday nights for FNM are free entry Commander/Modern and it's always a huge turnout. For anyone who is interested in going to any of these, they're all at 6:30 PM. It's always a great time and the Dark Forest player base community is super friendly. Oh, and also worth mentioning that they also have an extensive amount of other games there! I know I got a little heavy on the MTG here.

I was skeptical that a little shop in North Tonawanda would even make the list but was very pleasantly surprised. The environment is welcoming, we were greeted as soon as we walked in. We perused the selection and got to talking about some different games with the guy working (who I'm assuming was an owner but I can't remember his name because I'm horrible with names). Even though they didn't have what we were looking for, we wound up getting the Uncanny X-Men Dice Masters game just from talking about it. He knew his shit but didn't make me feel dumb for not being familiar with everything before walking in the door. Also mentioned a couple board game events that take place there, which we definitely plan on checking out. Overall just a really great shop, I'm looking forward to going back again.
