However, the prices are higher compared to other stores in Chinatown ranging from $1-$3. Gotta pay up for convenience! However, there's a small discount for cash payment. Kelly's Korner is a super nice store. Well stocked with a variety of items and fresh meats and vegetables. Everyone is quite friendly. This has become a go-to place as they do have everything and having free parking right in front in Chinatown is key.

Parking is available by the road and also in the structure. This could possibly be a new one-stop shop for when I need to replenish ingredients for my dessert soups.

Today they also have a daughter working for them and it's nice to see generational businesses. You still feel that connection with them. I used to look forward to peaches from Georgia back in the day. Then the peaches grove didn't continue doing business because it got so costly for them. It was really a sad thing for it was something I looked forward to and my daughter did too! But, with the times we move on. They have delicious kind mango now in season with big island lychee. The big island lychee has a very small pit inside and so lots of it is mainly the flesh and juice of the lychee. I bought a one day old bag that gets a little suntanned and it $1 off!! Nothing wrong with it. I tasted it and still juicy and softly crunchy. Excellent!! Everyone loves a bargain. I also buy my Chinese seeds from them. They have the sweet seed, honey ginger, and lemon peel that are all my favorite. They also have a ton of other items but today I did not take pictures. I will however do so next time. It's definitely a place to visit and get the best and sweetest lychee and mango during summer time!!!

The back of the store now has lights on. You can see in the back of the store. You no longer need to be apprehensive about venturing in the back of the previously unlit store. There is air conditioning, however, it doesn't seem to work well. I was in here for ten minutes and perspiring due to humidity and heat. I asked the one employee if she was uncomfortable in working in this heat. She replied that they are required to keep the front door open to let customers know it's open, so much of the cooled air escapes. It is crazy warm inside. Service is good. The one employee must stock, look out for customers and ring up sales. There is a half off table that I didn't observe in the past. Some of the drinks in the refrigerated section appear ready to burst. Overall, plus one star for labeling and price tags. I picked up a few sugar free and low calorie drinks to try here.

Kau Pen Sin offers a wide variety of Chinese and Asian dried goods from the luxurious bird's nest to a variety of dried mushrooms, dried noodles, dried seafood to nuts, teas, herbs, and etc. This store is located along Maunakea St in Chinatown, next to Pho Que Huong, near Lam's Kitchen. It's a small store that's jam packed with items top to bottom. The owner is the Queen of Queen's Travel! She's been my travel agents a couple of times, and many people go to her for cheap flights. Her office actually had a bunch of the items she's selling now, so with pretty much zero business in international travel, it's great that she opened up a store at a good location to sell her dried goods. Overall, a nice store to get your specialty items for those Chinese soups, stews, and special Bird's Nest Soup. There's a lot of variety here, and different qualities as well, so you can choose the one you're comfortable with. The higher priced and higher quality ones are the best, but a lot of the mid range grades are still more than acceptable. The owner is nice and can speak many languages, and don't worry if she's talking on multiple phones while texting, she can still effectively talk to you!

Looking for Nata de Coco (coconut gel) to make almond float, I asked the gal at Sun Chong Grocery Store on Hotel Street (because I was with my mom at her favorite store), if they happen to have any... She answered: No - but Jimmy's, next door has some! Me: Yay! Jimmy's Produce & Filipino Store is a cozy shop with all kinds of groceries. The shelves are neatly filled with bottles, cans, and boxes. Outside, on the sidewalk, are various types of fresh produce such as onions, oranges, and lemons. I asked the cashier where the Nata de Coco was. She pointed to the shelf behind me and said that they only have the red variety. I also saw the pandan-flavored coconut gel, so, I got a couple of bottles of those, too! I hope people like these red and pandan-flavored Nata de Coco! We shall see... Note: I arrived in Chinatown early on a Friday morning and got free street parking on King Street! Yippee! P.S. Bring cash... They don't take credit cards...

Chills and overjoyed, I just wanna cry the moment I learned that there's a Filipino market that is 30mins. drive from our tiki nest. Born and raised in Philippines, I will for sure missed the food I used to eat. And seeing stuffs from here, it gives me hope that home-sickness won't affect me too much. I usually don't cook way back but stepping a new life and lifestyle I need to, which I was thankful enough that I did (if you follow me on IG, you'll see my simple prepared dishes I cook at the nest). Anyways, I did found a Filipino goodies in here! I even jumped with happiness when I found my fave Chippy! Hahaha. This store also have fresh fish like galunggong. Even have Manila clams, shrimps and squid! Red horse you want? They got it in here too! Nido, yakult, dried fish, and my ever fave instant nood ~ lucky me (I grew up with this brand)! This place is just small but it was packed with Filipino goodies! A bit pricey for me compare to other Filipino market I've been through. But who cares? I'm in Hawaii and compare to mainland, I am blessed enough to have ample Filipino market stores to choose other than Seafood City! The cashier is an Ilokano, and t'was pretty amazing to finally talked to people in your native language in a foreign country! She's pretty friendly & really warm! I can sense the welcoming vibes! I've never been back in here but hopefully my bandit will drive me up to here if I ask him one of these days.
