I had to make a run to Hobart, Indiana and was hungry even before I left the house. I've passed this place many times and thought that today would be the perfect day for some Chinese cuisine. Nice large parking lot, clean and spacious in the inside. The beautiful young lady whose name is I didn't get was knowledgeable regarding menu, specials and supper friendly. I ordered the Hot Singapore chow mai and I got a small Shrimp fried rice for my Mommie. I made a little video and took lots of pictures this time. Overall experience, 4 & half Stars; food was good. read more

My favorite Chinese restaurant. Great service, excellent food. Love the chop suey, Chow mein, and lo mein. Excellent soups, and delicious egg rolls. LOVE eating there!!! read more

Great spot! Their egg rolls are awesome. I always get Szechuan Chicken and crab rangoon. The best +++

This place used to be pretty good, but I think the owners are getting older. The food quality is terrible!

Disgusting food. Ordered the General Tso's chicken. Tasted frozen, definitely not fresh, and felt sick afterwards. I'm sure they get the absolute cheapest meat if that's what it is and ingredients. Do NOT go here. read more

Found this restaurant with a random search and it was a very pleasant surprise. The food was made fast and tasted great. I would come here next time I am in the area. read more

A good place. Food and service. They have Peking Duck. The variety is what one would expect from similar restaurants.

I have driven past this place for years. I should have kept right on driving. The place is dirty. Especially the men's room. Reminded me of a gas station bathroom. The food was gross and frankly expensive The sweet and sour chicken Is horrible. I won't go back and I don't see how this place stays open. read more

The food was good and the service was good but a cockroach crawled on our table and ruined our experience

2 visits, once on a weekday and then a weekend. Can't understand how anyone can write a positive review after eating here. Each dish tasted like another, bland and un-Chinese. The egg rolls were a welcome surprise, as was the combination fried rice but they need to hire a Chinese cook to correct their main dishes or I won't be alone with these comments. Not sure how we'll know they've fixed things but I won't return read more

We were driving through and I decided to trust yelp as I normally do to get some Chinese food. I was severely disappointed. If this is what you guys think 4 out of 5 star Chinese food is you haven't tasted Chinese food! I got beef lo mein, the beef was chunky, pale, and tasteless, and the noodles didn't have much taste either. I tried at least 5 bites to give it a good try and it just wasn't worth it. It didn't even smell appetizing. Good portion size. read more

New China Restaurant - Beef lo mein 2 out of 5 stars - Chinese Near Me - Hobart, Indiana

Lunch special not very big and no egg roll or pop like many other take out places offer for a lunch special. I had the chicken broccoli which tasted good but left me wanting more. For the price, not a good value. read more

New China Restaurant - chicken, broccoli, and rice in a styrofoam container - Chinese Near Me - Hobart, Indiana

Was a little nervous about trying a new Chinese restaurant. When a place has on their marquee/sign "Excellent XXXX" I tend to be a little leery. The ambiance is left to be desired, however it was very clean. I have ordered from here several times (to go only), and they have a great selection to choose from. Food has always been tasty, fresh and hot. All in all, a nice place for "to go" read more

My husband and I wanted Chinese food last night, so he was out and was close to this place so he got beef fried rice, shrimp fried rice 2 egg rolls and small egg foo young, it was ok, but the next day I heated up some shrimp fried rice and there was a mouse dropping on the spoon of rice I was getting ready to put in my mouth, I called and Sandy said that she can give me another rice, like I want something else out of there. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more

Hidden gem as far as Chinese takeout goes. Food is always excellent and consistent. We order from here a few times a month. Food is always fresh and tasty. Prices are better than most Chinese restaurants too. read more

The food was soggy. The egg roll was legit fried but steamed back up later because it tasted fried---but no crunch. The orange chicken was legit all soggy breading. Awful. The "fried rice" was rice with soy sauce on it. Don't waste your money, not worth eating. read more

I grew up by Chinatown in Chicago. This is by far the best Chinese food in this area. The owners are very nice people. The female owner knows our order. If we change it up she makes a joke. We normally get take out. Dinning in one time I put in my order, and she told me, "No we are all out, you ate all the mushrooms". She was just kidding. Great family place. Someone recently broke the window. I hope they get caught. I like Moo Goo Gai Pan, and she will make it spicy for me. The Chicken Peapod is good as well. Very tender chicken, and crisp pea pods. My wife like the Kung Po chicken, and pan fried noodles. I often end up eating her left overs. The portions are very good. 1 large order of anything with rice or noodles is plenty for 2 people. I normally get a small fried rice for work the next day. It is a meal itself. There are 2 other Chinese restaurants in Hobart, and I'm not saying they are bad. I will put it this way. This places doesn't deliver, but I would go out in the snow to pick it up. It is that good. On the down side. If you aren't getting a spicy dish, you may want to ask for spice. That is just my personal taste though. My wife doesn't agree. read more

Hot and Sour soup was amazing and the dishes all included LOTS of veggies! Very fresh! Loved it!

Easily the best egg rolls ever. I'm a big fan of the deep fried chicken with pea pod and water chestnuts as well. I've been coming here for decades and can't imagine the Region without it. It's not authentic. It's not five star big city. But it's everything you want from a mom and pop restaurant that knows you and makes all your favorite comfort foods. read more

Good food! Awesome fried rice. I always get two of the shrimp fried rice. The combo meals are remarkable. They remember me and what I ordered each time I go there. My kids love using the chop sticks read more

b a d!!! worst food i have had, place smells inside. got it last night. over priced, small portions, no meet barley in the beff/brocoli, and then it didnt even taste good. we tried beef/brocoli, beef fried rice, veggie egg rolls, crab ragoon, complete waste of money. read more

Best Chinese food you can find! The chicken fried rice is so good and fresh and taste great even as leftovers! I have tried a lot on their menu, and I must say everything has been delicious! The egg rolls are a must-get also! read more

This place is amazing, best Chinese in Hobart hands down! I got the egg drop soup and Mongolian Beef and it was so great! Will go back!

took a long time to ger our food and was not really good or anything to write home about.

New China is my favorite restaurant for take-out. The restaurant itself is nothing special - run-down, even after a recent renovation following a fire. I suggest sticking to the take-out menu, which is excellent. read more
