Ordered shrimp fried rice. It was terrible. No flavor, barely any shrimp ,mainly small pieces of baby shrimp.I had some from the one in Valpo and it was great. I won't do there again. $8 for mainly rice with no flavor! read more

Best egg rolls I've ever had in my life! Love this place a lot. The staff is always very kind - they make coming back so easy

I love the chicken fried rice with extra bean sprouts! Never disappoints! The owners are always friendly and have the food ready for pick up right away. read more

Mediocre Chinese food. I don't expect much out if Chinese spots in Indiana tho. The ppl are nice here prices are decent food is not too bad.

Should've known by the price, literally two pieces of chicken in the lunch special maybe equating to 2 1/2 ounces. What are the sections of the three section Trey had nothing in it completely empty. Save your money and go next-door to Andy's. read more

Love that the small Asian restaurant hasn't left!!! Good food and service! Love it love it love it. Don't leave!! read more

Ordered a Beef and Broccoli, they should have just called it broccoli. They gave me about 2 serving spoons of beef at most. The fried rice dishes I ordered were good enough, Probably won't patronize again if they are not giving me my money's worth. They weren't always like this. Not sure what happened. New owner maybe? read more

Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in Porter County. I love this place. The owners are always friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic and the service is perfect. If anything they are too cheap. Their lunch specials are very inexpensive and I actually told the owner last week that she needs to increase all of her prices. Their Chicken Rice Soup is the best I have ever had in my life. I actually stop in and buy it a quart at a time. I have been coming here for a long time and I'm never disappointed. Best restaurant in Portage and best Chinese food in Porter County. read more

I really love this restaurant. It is great for kids of all ages, plus my family and I love it here. The food is great, and the service is amazing. I would definitely recommend this place if you have a craving for old fashioned Chinese food. read more

This is the best Chinese food in NW Indiana. Crispy egg rolls so good that I took some home. Owners are very friendly. I guess I will have to make a trip to Portage often to get their food. read more

Jade Garden - Chinese Near Me - Portage, Indiana

Very good Family Style Chinese dining. The inside of the restaurant is typical of Chinese restaurants, but pretty. Tables have a lot of space, murals cover the walls. The food is great, as authentic and spicy as you want it to be. The owners are very nice, and the staff is just as accommodating. Lunch orders are relatively cheap and typically come with soup and an egg roll, hot tea is free. If you're into Chinese food and want some good food for a cheap price, try Jade Garden. read more

I ate here because it got great reviews and one person said "Best Chinese food in NW IN!". I ordered the General Tso's with fried rice, combination lo mein and egg rolls to go and sat down at a table. I had my order within about 3-5 minutes which I thought was super fast. The general Tso's chicken was awesome! First time in a lot time I've had general Tso's that was actually spicy. The egg rolls were horrible though, probably one of the worst I've had. The lo mein was just okay. Over all, I thought it was a pretty average place. I've eaten at a few places in the area and definitely wouldn't say that it's the best considering the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life is just 20 minutes away, but it was decent enough to eat again if I'm craving Chinese food. read more

First time at Jade Garden in Portage. It was a snowy night so we were the only ones there. You seat your self. I had the Kung Po Beef. It was quite spicy but good. I'll have to eat it in stages. Also had the egg drop soup and an egg roll. We prefer spring rolls but they do not have them. The decor could use some updating. read more

Jade Garden - Kung Po Beef. Quite spicy. - Chinese Near Me - Portage, Indiana

In terms of Chinese food places, this is one of the nicer ones. It's always clean and the staff is always amazingly friendly. Where this place sets itself apart from the rest, is the portions, they are huge. The prices really aren't much different than any other Chinese place but like I said, the portions are larger than most places. I would say it's more of a family restaurant. Nice place Good food Good staff Great Prices read more

Small town authentic Chinese food. Cooked and served with passion. Great crab rangoon, chicken kow, Kung pow shrimp, excellent combination fried rice with jumbo shrimp. I always request extra spice. Always on point. This is my go to local Chinese spot! read more

Tried it twice, which was two times too many. Great service, but the food made you long for much smaller portions. Just not a great experience at all. read more

People nice.. food was just ok. My chicken was very dried out. Tasted like it sat out all day. Egg rolls taste like wasabi. Had general tso chicken, sesame chicken and seafood delight. There are plenty of better tasting chinese places I think I will go to in the future. read more

The food was decent. I feel like the lo mein is a little overpriced and they are very stingy with forks napkins amd condiments but the food was ok. Not bad just ok. read more

I liked the food, the Crab delight was very good. The service was quick, saw a lot of pickup orders. The waiter was very polite and answered our questions regarding the differences in a few items. I would eat here again. It was a Saturday early evening and they were not packed, as I said a lot of large pickup orders. read more

I miss the chicken rice soup. I have searched the twin cities from one end to the other looking for soup as good as this and for egg rolls as delish. I can't find it. This is the best around. read more

This place was very very good and well priced I'm glad I read these reviews and went me and my girlfriend ordered honey chicken, orange chicken, egg roll, shrimp fried rice, steamed rice. oh yes, and egg drop soup and it was super good and in very large portions our bill was only $27.00 read more

Have tried all the Chinese in the area. This is far and away at the top of my list. The decor is typical. The attention to detail soars above that. The staff is attentive. The prices are very competitive. The menu is extensive. read more

Fast and affordable. The food is good for northwest Indiana (a place where nothing is done well).Crab rangoons are awesome!

Great Chinese restaurant. We had a large group (18) and made a reservation. They were very accommodating and got our food out fast. We were even able to do separate checks. The food was very tasty and good size portions! Would definitely eat here again if in the area. read more

The chicken fried rice is the best in town. The rice is a dark rice which I like 10 times more then the yellow rice. The chicken in the rice is real chicken not that fake ass rubber chicken. I also had the Crab rangoons they are about a 3.5 star. I will be going back everytime I'm in the mood for Chinese food. read more

This is probably the most authentic Chinese in the area. The dining room isn't huge, I think it has 8-10 booths and a couple of tables but despite being small it's not overly crowded or loud. The decor is your typical Chinese restaurant decor but it's clean and the owners and staff are very friendly. You get hot tea with every meal and if you go for lunch you get the most for your money since they include soup and egg roll. Amazing apricot sauce too. read more

Excellent general Tso's chicken. The "crab meat delight" is good also. Not the best fried rice I've had, but not bad either. The food travels well. read more

Their food is good and been here along time, but what's Chinese food without sushi, that's the reason to go out.

First time here. Very expensive. And the general tso is weird tasting. Much rather go to rice garden. The fried rice was good tho

Of all the Chinese restaurants in the area, this one is the best. Never had anything bad here. I like the orange chicken. Always get carry out because the inside needs some overhaul. (They need to call Robert Irvine) read more
