WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN!!! Wanted to give a MINUS star. What follows is a huge problem with paying ahead via credit card and advance tipping. Ordered online one hour before requested delivery. The following are the instructions given on line "No contact.Knock on door. Place order inside cabinet please." After 25 minutes past the requested time, I called to inquire on our order. I was told that the order was delivered!! Man on phone called driver and she insisted she delivered the order per instructions of "No contact, just leave food." Claimed food was left by garage door. Merchant said they could replace order, I declined because now it was 45 minutes past our desired dinner time. Told merchant I will not be paying for this order and will dispute charge with my bank. I also said I will never order again. Minutes after this call, the driver called and stated she had errored and delivered to the wrong address - her mistake. She said, get this, she would retrieve the food and bring it to us. I laughing said no. I asked if she would eat cold food that was left outside someone's house for a hour. She then said that they would remade the order and redeliver. I said only if they can have it here in 5 minutes and I still would not pay for it. read more

Our order: S25 Won Ton Soup $4.75 1 x C07 Sesame Chicken(CP) **Egg Roll $10.35 1 x V137 Buddha Delight $8.95 1 x A07 Crab Rangoon (6) $5.25 1 x A10 Cantonese Fried Shrimp (4) $5.95 I'll go item by item. The Won Ton soup had big and nicely sliced veggies, but had little flavor overall and was fairly generic. The sesame chicken was a huge disappointment with crunchy as all get out chicken from being overfried and the fried rice was extremely bland with no notes of being freshly fried. The included egg roll was alright, but nothing worth noting. The Buddha Delight was somehow the star of the show. Plenty of veggies of the sauce was good. The crab Rangoon should really be called onion Rangoon, as there are tons of onions inside and not a single sighting of crab. The Cantonese fried shrimp are over cooked frozen shrimp with a massive amount of overfried almost burnt batter. What a waste of money. I'd say the one positive note was that our order was ready quick and the service was good, especially considering it was a Friday night. Don't know what people are talking about. Been my consistent chinese spot for close to 10 years. The chicken is crispy but moist in the middle as it should be. So many other spots drown their chicken in sauce. Sauce is flavorful. Hot food that tastes great with speedy delivery and solid customer service. The kids working there do a great job of being kind and courteous and bridging the gap of the language barrier of the parents. Simple lobby. I've eaten there for years and the quality was always a bit uneven, but it has gone steadily downhill. Their fried foods taste like rancid oil. Stir fried foods are soaked in oil. The carry out bags are often drenched with oil. More and more there's almost no meat. Sometimes a quart of a shrimp dish will only have a few shrimp, same with other meats. Every aspect of their food demonstrates they don't pay attention to quality. The owner doesn't want to hear feedback. He'll shrug and say it happens sometimes. They never want to correct a bad order. They have a good selection of tofu/vegetarian dishes and the soups are great. The soups are also smaller which is better for me because I don't need a quart of soup. One of the staples I have to have is a good Chinese takeaway! I love bringing it home, smelling it, and digging in with some chopsticks. For me it is one of those comforting things for a Friday or Saturday night when you just want to stay in, watch t.v., and hang out in sweat pants. I remembered seeing New China Express when I was driving about one day, so I thought I should try it. The menu is standard, all of the usual items you look for. I order a combination lo mein, Mongolian Beef, and Hot and Sour Soup. I figured I could always eat leftovers and it would make packing lunch for work easier. They were really quick and finished my order before the other lady who ordered before me. They do take credit card, so no worries there! The combination lo mein was a bit bland. It was full of meat and veggies, but I don't think any soy sauce was used on the noodles as they were bright yellow. The Hot and Sour Soup was extremely spicy. It was difficult to taste much else when your mouth is on fire. However, I did finish it over a couple of days. My favourite was the Mongolian Beef. It was delicious and I finished that pretty quickly. I will probably be back to try some other items to find out what I should and shouldn't order. read more

I am sorry the other people that wrote reviews did not have good have good experiences, but have pretty good ones all along through the delivery line. Not only is the driver personable, polite and most of the time within the time allotted time frame. The food is always delivered hot and delicious. I have ordered Singapore Fried Noodles without the peppers and with mushrooms added. I ask them to always make it med. hot in spice and they do. It is tasty and filled with shrimp, chicken pork, carrot strips & bamboo shoots plus my mushrooms. Ymmm. The only down fall I find is that they at times put tiny pieces of fat from the pork in the dish wish I do not like. (I find MING"S IN BROOKFIELD to make the best). Their fried rice I find good too. I've also had their vegetable soup that has huge filled wontons, bamboo shoot and carrot strips. The broth is delicious. I did not like the rib lets. They were very hard and chewy. I ended up throwing away almost the entire meal. Other than the rub lets and the sm. amt. fat in the Singapore noodles I can overlook, I find this to be good, not the best. I have been sick so I was not leaving my house. I ordered shrimp in Lobster Sauce to be delivered. The delivery time was great. I opened up the bag and what I got sure did not look like lobster sauce. It actually looked like dirty water. It had ZERO taste. The Shrimp was dry and appeared old. It was too late to call so I called the next day. The lady on the phone argued with me, she said it was sauce and not water, then tells me that the shrimp is cooked in water and then all goes in with the "sauce". I AM BUSY is what she told me.. Tonight's order was nothing like we've received before so we called to explain about the VERY dry meals (chicken almond ding and curry chicken). My husband had a hankering for Chinese, so we called Golden Gate (the best EVER!) but they were "closed for their annual holiday." Bummer. So we decided to try this place...BAD IDEA. The "chicken" was rubbery and inedible, the rice was WAY over fried. They threw in some deep fried monstrosity that consisted of a big ball of fried batter with more rubbery "chicken" inside. Hubby said the General Tso's sauce was good, but the meat itself is disgusting. I got sick a couple of hours later too. Thanks for nothing New China! If I could give 0 stars i would. I've been ordering from them for I believe 2 years now and I think I'm done going there. I get there general sou chicken and ask for medium spice and 3 out of the 4 times I ordered it the last couple months there has been 0 peppers in there that give it the spice. So I gave them a call and tryed to explain my frustration and wanted to know if I could get a credit if I order in a week or so and they said that's not possible and HUNG UP. Now I don't thinK that is a smart way to run a business. You hang up on customers when you get confused and upset when they call and tell you that you messed up there order and they say you didn't do what they ask and you say you did. The customer service here is horrendous, but the food is pretty good and worth dealing with the crummy attitude behind the counter. I have never done delivery, always take out. Orders are usually ready in about 20 minutes. I like their combo meals which comes with a main choice, rice option, and egg roll for a reasonable cost. An employee helped me with the very large order out to the car. When I got home, the order was complete and still hot. They added rice, sweet and sour packets and soy sauce and cookies. This is our go-to restaurant for lunchtime at work. Our order has always been correct and delivered on time. I have added 1 or 2 lunches to a larger order at 11:00 and had them included in 11:30 delivery. The lunch portions are ample and include rice and an eggroll for a reasonable price. read more

My husband and I live very close to New China Express and we both love eating here. We have tried other places in Waukesha and New China Express is one of our favorites. It is true as Scott S pointed out it is a family business and the young lady who helps her family at the front desk is always polite and helpful (her mom can be abrupt but I believe it is a language barrier issue). Truthfully I can't comment on the food because we never received it. After waiting over an hour for our delivery I called to find out where our food is (this is 20 min. after we expected the food). I was told that the driver left with the delivery 20 min. before my call. I now expected the food to show up very soon. But no! I am now calling again 2 hours after I ordered. I am given a story about a train accident that the driver can't get around (I find out later that the driver didn't want to wait for the train and couldn't find her way to my address). The man on the phone told that the driver called me to let me know (not true!). By now the order has been in the delivery vehicle for close to 2 hours and I told him I wanted fresh food and thought that I shouldn't have to pay the $2.50 delivery charge and that if he ever wanted my business it would be a good idea to comp. something for my inconvenience. Instead, he preferred arguing with me!?! I cancelled my order. 10 minutes later the driver shows up and I send her on her way as she tries to explain why it took her well over an hour to drive 5.4 miles. I will never do business with a restaurant that preferred to argue with a customer when they mess up the just fix the problem. I recommend they buy a GPS for their delivery staff; maybe they won't get lost next time. read more

A friend told us this was "the best Chinese food around". So I was passing by last Saturday and decided to get something to go. My first impression should have clued me into what followed. It was filthy and run down. They have invested nothing in making the front area look good. I will say the young girl at the counter was very nice and helpful. But this brings up something of possible concern. From my vantage point into the kitchen it looked like there was no one over the age of 16 running the place. It appeared like it was a kitchen/teenage hangout back there. I shudder at what unsupervised teenagers might do to one's food. Anyway, against good judgment I pressed on and ordered Sesame Chicken, fried rice, and a tofu peanut dish. Straight away I noticed it smelled funny. The sauce and coating on the Sesame Chicken were ok but the chicken.... Whatever the lowest grade of chicken is that is fit for human consumption this is what they use. It was rubbery, dry, and stringy. Yes, stringy. Honestly, I have never had chicken this bad. There was no peanut taste in the other dish and the tofu was like mushy goo inside. I got the chicken fried rice for my girlfriend. She threw it out. I ate some of this food only because I was hungry and paid almost $30. The best I can say for my dining experience here is I didn't get sick like the other reviewer. I hope the health department shuts it down asap. read more
