Healthy plate

Asian buffets sprout out all over the place like bean sprouts. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was busy which is a positive since the hot dishes ate replenished often. Pretty standard fair with about 3-4 dishes each for pork, chicken, beef, and seafood. They also have cold unpeeled cocktail shrimp. Most of the dishes were ok, with standouts being fried chicken wings, fried potstickers, seaweed salad, and pork shu mai (dumpling). Plenty of self-service drinks available from tea to coffee, to cappuccino, to soda, to lemonade, to horchata. Also had assorted desserts including soft-serve ice cream. Prices were reasonable, and food was hot and plentiful; therefore 4 stars.

Came here on Friday. Stop...dinner time. Please hammer don't hurt em. I want great food but settled for good. ;( The good- Little over $10. For dinner and drink included. Food quality was about average Chinese buffet for variety. They even had the famous Chinese "pizza" cheese or pepperoni. The kitchen did a great job as far as keeping a large supply of food. Staff was friendly and cleared our table well. They have plenty of baby high chairs. Something about eating wasabi gives me some wild crazy dreams, warning pre made sushi rolls. The Bad The sushi was very cold and bla. Lack of flavor. Plenty of people were coming in and leaving. No crab? No crappy crab legs no scallops no plain mussels, no calamari. I've seen better for less. On north side of town brown deer rd. IE. city buffet and best buffet.

The food is below average and pricey for the quality. Table was cleaned off quickly. It was rather dark and dreary inside.

Good price for what you get. Try spending that at Culver's you'll think you should have gone to New China Buffet.

Sze Chuan Restaurant - Vegetable eggroll

I should have eaten at Sze Chuan ages ago. I was told it was amazing. I even lived very near to it…read morein the past. It's been on my list, but I didn't go. That was an error. The restaurant is in a tucked away strip mall and is modest in size and decor. The strip mall also contains hidden treasures like a Chinese bakery/BBQ and an Asian store. We went early on a Saturday evening with friends. The service was excellent, although with some staff there were language hurdles. No matter - everyone made it work and we were left with an abundance of amazing food at a reasonable price. Wine and beers are served, as well as smoothies and other non-alcoholic drinks. BF ordered crab rangoon as a starter, which was good. He liked it more than I did, but it was nice and crispy. I just didn't think it compared to other dishes. My vegetable egg roll was very good as well, but nothing terribly unique. He went bold on the entree and ordered the pork intestine and blood cake dish. He really enjoyed it and said it was quite spicy. The portions are generous and he did bring a lot home. I ordered the homestyle tofu, which normally has pork. I got it without to make it vegetarian friendly. The textures were very good and the sauce was intensely flavorful, but mild. I also ordered a supplementary dish of braised mushrooms and Shanghai greens. Everyone at the table enjoyed this dish, particularly the greens, which are a variety of bok choy, called pac choy. The mushrooms were wonderful, with the texture of wood ears. I also had plenty of leftovers to eat the next day. Our friends ordered the Szechuan spicy pork dumplings and they got rave reviews. My cousin did say they were not overly spicy. She went on to order the sizzling black pepper beef, which she said was good, but not nearly as unique or deeply flavored as the other dishes. Her husband ordered the pork intestine with clear noodles, which he enjoyed but said was extremely spicy. He did leave a lot of sauce behind since it was so hot. He also had the ox tendon and maw in spicy sauce, which came with chopped peanuts on top. He seemed really pleased with that dish. We agreed that we would happily go back to explore the menu more. Everything was excellent and I thought the prices were generally quite reasonable, especially for the quantity of food. I do wish the menu had more descriptive text, so I could familiarize myself with the dishes. The choices are many and overwhelming and the menu is huge. I'd also love to see a symbol for vegetarian options since it's very hard to know otherwise and many of the vegetable dishes included pork or other meat. As we left the restaurant was getting increasingly busy with people waiting by the door for seats. This is a popular place for good reason.

Sze Chuan is still one of my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurants in the Milwaukee area. It seems…read morethey are always busy, but the staff also does a good job getting guests seated, managing the wait list, getting food served and tables turned without rushing the guests. The Spicy Pork Dumplings have become my go-to appetizer, and the fried spring rolls are also very good. On a most recent visit, we ordered hot pot. Our server brought us the sheet to make our selections. You can choose from mild broth, spicy broth, or half tray of each. The spicy is pretty hot with lots of red chili peppers soaking in it, so I scooped out the chili peppers to keep rhe flavor but lessen the impact on my palate. For 2 guests, I recommend choosing 3 items from the list, maybe 2 protein and one veggie or 2 veggie and one protein to start. You can order more if you finish and need more. This is in addition to the two appetizers you will choose, which is included with rhe hot pot dinner. It's a great value! Sze Chuan remains on my short list of go-to's for Chinese dining, and I look forward to my next visit, whenever that may be.

The staff was a bit hard to understand and when I explained we were first timers, she slowed down her speaking a bit and that helped. Be prepared to order you full meal right away as they then prepare the ingredients in the kitchen for preparation at the table. It appears to be traditional to be entertained by the chef, which we did expect, however I was not prepared to have a broccoli launched at me without warning. We each were hit in the face which was not a lot of fun. Maybe we could be asked first next time? I know many people enjoy this but we were in the middle of a conversation when the food started flying. Kids will love this! The food was prepared wonderfully well. A medium rare steak was perfect as was the medium one requested. A quick and efficient prep was impressive and there was a large amount of food on our plates before long. They have a happy hour that is really reasonable, M-Th 4:30-6:00. We will also be back to take advantage of that option. You can choose to sit in the traditional dining room or the hibachi area. We really enjoyed the hibachi option just for the pleasure of watching our food being prepared well in front of us. Plenty of parking in this relatively innocuous building near the mini-golf place. But it is worth a visit. The food is worth the reasonable prices.

Man on phone called driver and she insisted she delivered the order per instructions of "No contact, just leave food." Claimed food was left by garage door. Merchant said they could replace order, I declined because now it was 45 minutes past our desired dinner time. Told merchant I will not be paying for this order and will dispute charge with my bank. I also said I will never order again. Minutes after this call, the driver called and stated she had errored and delivered to the wrong address - her mistake. She said, get this, she would retrieve the food and bring it to us. I laughing said no. I asked if she would eat cold food that was left outside someone's house for a hour. She then said that they would remade the order and redeliver. I said only if they can have it here in 5 minutes and I still would not pay for it.
