The service is amazing! They're super attentive and make sure to keep the area clean. But they weren't overbearing with their service, just sweet. Their food is also great! I really liked their honey chicken, and my sister loved everything she tried too! They have signs asking not to waste food, which I appreciate, and so we tried a little bit of everything before going back for larger portions along what we liked. Me and my family have gone to this buffet for years but when we went today there is a sign that says they will now be charging for extra food left on your plates which this is all you can eat buffet so prices are already set when you eat buffet I'm pretty sure that's illegal. I came here for the first time last week for lunch. I've been to a ton of other Asian buffets in a bunch of different cities and states, and well, they're my guilty pleasure. To be honest, this place kind of impressed me. I was surprised at the sushi selection, the hibachi (Mongolian grill?) section, fruits, and ice cream. The food was great. I feel like the food tasted better than other Asian buffets. My friend doesn't recommend the pizza and fries though (and luckily, I was too focused on the Asian fare to notice them). This is probably the only time I've ever gone to a buffet and not regretted anything I ate...and that's a feat. The service was fine. Soooo... I went to Macon for training. I should have followed my first intuition and went to a Indian buffet that had great reviews but because I was so hungry I opted for a Chinese buffet because I said there is something I will have to like... oh boy was I wrong. Everything I ate was disgusting. The fried chicken was soggy how can a Chinese food restaurant go wrong with fried chicken. The chicken teriyaki was extremely salty. The other chicken offered taste like it's simply had Italian salad dressing poured over it. I figured I could not go wrong with Nigiri but it taste terrible. I went to the restroom the AC was broke and it smelled hot musty and moldy and made my stomach turn. The only reason they get one star was because I was able to get full off of and extremely enjoyed the hibachi ...which I'm not sure if I can give full credit to because I compose the dish myself. If it was possible they would have gotten a zero . Even the sweet tea was bad . The hibachi had a wide variety and I loaded up on bok choy bean sprouts mushrooms celery onions and pho noodles. read more

Their hibachi tastes pretty good, the staff are usually friendly but I've had one bad experience with one guy almost demanding a tip from me when all he had done was bring me a glass of water. As for everything else on the buffet I can't say much, it looked fairly fresh and I would see the staff change out the items fairly often. Walked in and asked to see menu for take out order, man behind counter seemed 'put out' I asked for carry out' Placed order and paid asking for hot mustard also. While waiting started to think about what I ordered and asked to see receipt which he didn't give me when I paid. The biggest selection anywhere around Macon GA and a great stop just off I-475. My favorite items would be the puff yeast rolls with honey butter, the steak, grilled chicken, noodles, coco shrimp, and spicy shrimp! They really do have tons of selection and even if you didn't like Chinese you could simply eat steak and crablegs/shrimp or pizza and fries for the kids. They have oysters on the half shell, sushi made to order, great fresh fruit selection and hand dipped ice cream. I also like the cheese cake if its still partially frozen. Take out is a great option here and you can usually get it cheaper than say Ryan's or Golden Corral. read more

Stopped for lunch. They had crab legs, shrimp, pizza, all kinds of Chinese food. Sushi both cooked like Mali rolls as well as raw. Salad bar. All you can eat for 10.99 a person. Very worth it. Service was great too, dishes were gone as soon as you got up for something else. Great variety. The only con is some of the items weren't very hot. I did get seconds and then tool from the bottom and it was hot so I chalk that up to my in experince with a buffet style place. read more

Since this place had a handful of positive reviews, I figured I could go for some Chinese and try something different. Ugh -- no thanks! I don't consider myself a Chinese food snob or anything, but this was really unimpressive. Food wasn't hot (or it was too hot because it'd been sitting out for too long, so it was kind of hard/globbed together). They have a wide variety of items on the buffet line, but most were over-sauced, under-heated or needed to be refreshed (and most of what I tried just wasn't very tasty). Best thing I had was the grilled green beans. The place also is in dire need of a few upgrades; the booth I was seated in was falling apart with the leather peeling away from the backing of the chair. We rode by the establishment seeing the vast amount of cars in the parking lot raising our expectations. But as you take a seat you realize the lack of structure by the employees. As you go to get food, you see that the sign outside this establishment stating, "MORE THAN 300 FOOD SELECTIONS" is blatant false advertising. And the food selection they do have is a hit or miss. For example, the rice they had was obliviously stale and old. Also the quality of meat is average. Based on the experience, you are expecting to pay at least $9. But to the disappointment of the customer, you are paying around $15 for average quality meat, stale rice and dumplings, lack luster desserts, and disappointing customer service. i have been here several times and had issues with the manager denying my seeing eye dog. However i guess its under new management, because the last two times i went i had no problems. The Staff were Friendly and helpful, and kept our coke glasses full. also i love the way the wait staff works as a team and helps each other, that is impressive to me as a customer. I have been eating here for years and I love the food at this place. I have never gotten sick by eating there; my food is always fresh because I go at lunch time or right at 6pm. So I have never experienced cold food. My server is always friendly, nice, and very humble. Habachi Grill is always nice, the sushi is always fresh. I have no complaints. I live in Macon and the food is awesome especially the fried blue crabs and the salad bar is delicious. So, when you are in Macon stop by and enjoy yourself. We decided to ignore the very mixed reviews and made our decision to stop for lunch based on the number of cars in the parking lot. We were glad we did. Fast food would not have been much less expensive, and the food was plentiful and delicious. If I had to make a complaint it would be that the egg roll didn't have much taste. In a complete opposite of our norm, I'd stay with the buffet and skip the grill. It was ok, but every item item from the buffet was very good. My favorite Chinese Buffet in Macon. The food is fresh and hot and they have many selections to choose from. The sushi is good, for a Buffett. They have the Mongolian bar and their coconut shrimp is my favorite. My only issue is they charge you for crab legs at dinner, no matter if you eat them or not. Clean restaurant with reasonable prices. Wide variety of food that is kept well stocked even at off-peak hours (2 pm on a Monday). We have now eaten at this restaurant four times (every time we pass by Macon on I-475), and there are always lots of customers and good food. read more

I am heart broken. To say that this place is inconsistent, is an understatement, which makes this review all the more hard to write. Yes, I am that customer that comes in 40 minutes before closing. For 2 adults and 1 child I was charged $41.02. For crab legs that were never brought out. My WAITRESS was eating a beautiful plate of fluffy white rice with what appeared to be fresh general tso's chicken (THE BUFFET WANT EVEN GOOD ENOUGH FOR MY WAITRESS!!!) while on the buffet was obviously a cup of dehydrated white rice (which I pointed out to management, he stated he would talk to his boss) not to mention the bland lomein that my daughter got was really spaghetti noodles.ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! there where several people seated after my family. Which would grant serving a fresh round of food on the buffet. My daughter went to the restroom to wash her hands and felt disgusted and stated "upon walking past the first door to the restroom, it appeared that some poor animal tried to chew its way through the second door( that wasn't a stall) it was creepy." The last straw for me was when I went to make a second plate and had dried up food still on it, so I went to another stack, that was freshly washed and I could feel the grit when I went to wipe off the water with my hand. At that point i went and sat down and could no longer consider eating one more thing ( not even the fortune cookie). New China Buffet is pretty much the only Chinese buffet in Macon. They have so many options that it is basically impossible not to find something you like! Great options for children and people who aren't fond of chinese. Sushi is pretty good, very fresh. However, don't be fooled by their Father's day (and other holidays) lobster specials-- I'm not sure if they just didn't know how to cook it or if they were trying to be stingy but every time they brought out the huge tray of lobster to be placed of the buffet-- the shells only had a tiny bit of meat inside. Also, the wait staff sometimes gets distracted and you have to remind them to bring you drinks. Overall it's a good place with great tasting food! read more

For the price, this place was great. The coconut shrimp was really good and the wonton soup was also good. My husband enjoyed the pork barbecue. The egg rolls were not great. The service was good and the employees were friendly. What more can you ask for $10. per person. We know what excellent Chinese food can be, having eaten it in N.Y., San Francisco, and Baltimore.
