I love this takeout place. Since moving to Macon, it's become my go to spot. The food is always fresh and so delicious. I normally call ahead because it's about a 15 minute wait after your order is placed. The people are really nice and the portions are always a good size. Was in Macon, GA for a couple of weeks following Hurricane Helene. Was in the mood for Chinese food and Ming's had decent reviews compared to a couple of others in this part of the city. I'm from the northeast and Ming's had a different style of preparation than what I'm used to. For example, the chicken wings were battered as if they were fried chicken. Didn't taste bad, but I've never seen that with Chinese restaurant wings. I also got General Gau's chicken. I'm not a fan of egg rolls, so was happy when the cashier said that I could get the small order that doesn't include egg roll (and is a couple of dollars less than the dinner plate. The food wasn't fabulous, but it wasn't terrible. Overall, though, everything lacked salt/seasoning so it was pretty bland. read more

Until now I've had mini issues with this establishment. Today I ordered Egg Fu Young for the first time and it was burned. Went to ask for a remake and the owner argued it was the grease. The only reason I left 4 stars is because they can't take foot traffic, there is only drive thru or walk up to window, which is on a dimly lit thru alley, so I felt a bit sketched out on that end of the shopping center. Hot and sour soup, extra egg rolls and an order of spring rolls ran us about $38. It fed our army quite nicely. The soup has a very robust beef base. It is good but unexpected. Chocked FULL of ingredients, there was not a bite that didn't offer umami goodness with a perfect amount of heat. Chicken dishes were just as they should be flavor wise, and plentiful. Best Chinese take out food that I think I've had anywhere. Fast, reliable, and delicious. The portions are quite large for the price, but that doesn't mean they've skimped on quality. We've gotten take out from Ming's numerous times. At prime dinner time or weekends, it's sometimes difficult to get through over the phone because they're so busy. If the phone is busy, keep trying!
