This is our go to Chinese restaurant. We drive past many others for 30 minutes to get our food here. It's typical American Chinese food, it's not special but it's also not bad like many others near us. The food is alway fresh and hot and never greasy. Sometimes it's over sauced, so I ask for light sauce. They have a large menu selection and always serve you in a timely manner. The inside of the building is bare bones with a few tables and a restroom. It's not really designed for large eat in crowds but mostly for to go orders. I ordered fried scallops, triple delight, and sesame chicken. I ordered this delivery. They are across the street from my hotel. They had no idea what the problem was and I was told the delivery had gone out a half an hour ago. I told them to cancel my order. But 5 minutes later delivery was at front desk. It was raining out so I stupidly went ahead and accepted the delivery. First the fried scallops were a mystery. If there was a scallop in that mess it was nearly indistinguishable. When I could take the breading off the "scallop" it was full of small holes and oddly textured. I'm betting pureed scallop or something like that faux lobster. They were close to inedible. Gross. The sesame chicken was also almost utterly devoid of any actual meat that I could discern. It was at least 80 "breading" (usually corn starch). The flavor wasn't bad.....so if you want sesame globs of fried corn starch...go for it. The triple delight was actually fair with 3-4 large shrimp, beef, and chicken appropriately balanced with veggies. But it was just average and nothing extraordinary by any stretch. This was NOT worth 30 bucks so if you're in the area and want Chinese head to Publix and get PF Chang's frozen meal and nuke it. Clearly I won't go back. read more

Found this hidden gem while driving to Savannah. Got off the Highway and decided to drive through the shopping center. I figured I'd get something fairly generic that would be hard to mess up. The veggies were cooked perfectly just a bit of crunch in them. Roast pork was tasty and not dry. The brown sauce was well flavored with ginger and garlic. The service was prompt and friendly. OUTSTANDING: this place is getting it absolutely right; they've made a point to make their space into a simple safe spot to order delightful Chinese food. The transaction was more like being at a bank than a Chinese joint; they have plexiglass boxed in the counter-to-kitchen space and even have a hinged door for transactions to minimize the potential for viral transmission. My girlfriend & I ordered the beef lo mein, Mongolian beef and the steamed dumplings. The former two were solid but the dumplings were remarkable! I'm a steamed dumpling guy, and those bad boys were a thick dough, hearty filling and a sauce like a breezy Georgia scorcher! It had the perfect tinge of spice cut by the rice wine. These folks are a bright star in a dim world. I appreciate their precautions and admire their obvious prowess in the kitchen. If you're in need of a Chinese fix and are passing through like we were, give this place a go and hopefully you'll find yourself inspired to tell the world they serve it up once you're barreling down I-75 again as well! In a desert, barren from all edible Chinese restaurants (Macon), there is an oasis at Zheng's Wok. After trying other bland and downright disgusting Chinese restaurants in town, Zheng's Wok was amazingly average. Will I say it was the best Chinese food I've ever had? No, because then I'd be lying. Was it hot, fresh, salty, and satisfying? Absolutely. I'd order from Zheng's Wok again in a heartbeat. The crab rangoons were crispy and had a delicious filling. The broccoli beef was a hit and so was the General Tso's chicken. I also liked the fried rice which came with approximately 8 peas, just as it should. The mixed veggies entree was also fresh, well cooked, and hot. What more could you ask for. I'm so glad to have found our new go-to Chinese restaurant. Can't wait to order from here again! read more

I don't profess to be an expert on preparing Chinese food, but I've eaten enough to have an opinion on how it should taste and look (plus, my spouse's family is from Taiwan & China and he cooks all the time). Here are a few observations after eating here. Yellow rice is not the same as fried rice. The amount of meat in Mongolian Beef should be in higher proportion to the onions. Tied for the worst I ever had. Sweet sour chicken breading was just plain weird. Kung pao was so salty as to be nearly inedible. Fried rice wasn't fried rice. And the mother in the kitchen yelled at the son working the front nearly the entire time we were there. read more

I ordered take out for the first time from Zheng's Wok and my family was NOT disappointed!! My family LOVES Chinese food so we have eaten in most restaurants in Macon that serve it. I have a large family so we ordered several dinners: Mongolian beef, Orange chicken, Szechuan Chicken and Chicken Lo mein. Everyone was delighted with their meals. The food was hot and the taste was excellent! We also had chicken teriyaki sticks which were very tasty and my personal favorite, crab rangoon. I honestly have not found any crab rangoon in Macon that was even close to as good as this! I highly recommend Zheng's Wok. I went to pick up some Chinese food from this restaurant in April 2013. While I was ordering, I notice a cook picking his nose and continuing to cook. I immediately asked for my money back. The cook that was picking his nose came to the register and ask me( why I want my money back?) Calmly as possible, I said because you were picking in your nose. The cook then told me he couldn't refund my money. I asked for the manager and a customer complaint phone number. The cook then ask ( you dont want the food?) I looked him in his eyes with craze look and demanded my refund. I dont recommend this restaurant until this cook is terminated.
