Been a long time patron of British Pantry and Three Lions for years prior for lunch, afternoon tea, drinks, groceries and everything in between even prior to the rebranding to Neville's. Today I walked in with my partner to see if there was table knowing that it was the World Cup, but we were asking politely on the chance that there may be something opening up. The First Lady (younger) was happy to take a look, which is all we could ask for. After a few minutes we were then greeted by an older, much less pleasant lady who in an incredibly rude tone told my partner "there won't be a table. It's the World Cup." Before shrugging us off and enthusiastically closing the gate shut on us. What a way to treat patrons! It takes literally no effort to be kind or respectful even in decline. As a Brit, this was a place I would look forward to coming to but after today's interaction I'd steer well clear. read more

This place used to be one of our favorite restaurants when we lived here and so I couldn't pass on the opportunity to visit again. This place looks the same as I remember it, with the same ambiance and the same wait staff that has been part of the establishment for like ever! We got here a bit early before the lunch rush, which was definitely a good idea. It starts to fill up pretty fast around noon. We ordered a pot of black tea - pot of tea is a must here! They serve with lemon wedges, cream and sugar. We ordered : Steak and kidney pie - a hearty, generous portion of food. Served with fries, but I prefer the house salad with dressing on the side. The pastry is a bit dry, so I recommend eating with the brown sauce. It makes the filling and the pastry nice and moist. Fish and chips - I ordered the two piece, which is more than plenty of food. My chips were over fried and tasted a bit like old oil, so I didn't eat them. I should have ordered the salad instead. I mentioned it and they offered me to have it changed, but I was already full from the generous portion of fish, so I didn't accept it. This little hole in the wall is awesome and adorable with quality food and easy parking. The quality of the food is excellent and the value is fair. One of the things I was most excited about was high-tea sets which starts at 2:30pm. Parking is easy and free which is always a bonus. I'd come back. read more

Sadly- I wish I could write a better review. I spent a lot of time in London as a child and the hubby and I are huge Anglophiles (we even went to London on our honeymoon). We love a good pub or tea room and really like English food. But this was disappointing. First we waited forever to even be noticed. The restaurant was half empty but we got ignored for quite a while. We even left for a bit to go see if we could just eat in the pub. But the pub is more like an American bar than a pub - so we went back. We finally got seated. I ordered fish and chips and a side salad. When the salad came - there was no silverware. And the waitress kept disappearing so I sat there for five minutes staring at my salad. Finally I got up and had to find her to ask for a fork. And the salad has a few pieces of old lettuce in it. Then the food came and they messed up the hubby's order (wrong dressing on his salad with his burger). And they placed my fish on top of the fries. So the steam from the fries made the coating on the fish all soggy. And the fish had no flavor. So the two stars are for the chips - very good fries. Then when we finally saw the waitress again and asked for our check - she disappeared again for a while. That drives me a bit crazy. It only takes 30 seconds to get out our credit card and quickly review the bill. read more

I ate at Neville's restaurant today. I had steak and kidney pie and chips (fries) with extra gravy. It was delicious. I often come to this restaurant, I usually order their Scottish smoked salmon followed by their 'king of cheese' (blue Stilton cheese and crackers with fruit). their trifle dessert is good too. I recommend trying this restaurant, shopping at the British pantry, or trying the three lions pub. They are all owned and operated by the Redman family. Parking is a bit difficult. Not great for kids. Prices are a bit high but portions are great! The ambiance is spot on England. Beautiful and exquisite. The sausage rolls were great, and very kid friendly. The fish and chips my wife said were "spot on" with what she used to eat while she lived in England. I had the Sheppard's Pie... It was like mum used to make. Deliciousness through and through. The gravy was super good, and the piped mashed potatoes were beautiful, almost too much to eat. We'll be back, but probably without kids. read more

This is true gem of Redmond and the Eastside in general. However, they could use one more waitress that's the only reason why this isn't a five star. Neville's, British Pantry, and 3 Lions Pub are like a shamrock- the three are one. Neville's is a restaurant that would be commonplace in the UK. The food is a hearty and delicious. I'd recommend the curry chicken pasty. It's like a pot pie with lots of flavor. NOM NOM NOM. Also, it's a great place for fish and chips. The pint selection is vast and delightful. The British Pantry is a portal to civilized society. You can get bacon there and I mean BACON. COUNTRY SLABS of BACON! YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT! BACON! There's also a large selection of cheeses and butter from Ireland. I enjoy walking around the shop and getting some of the chocolate that is sweeter and richer than Betty White. I recommend buying one or four of the British souvenirs. Seriously, go there right now! You're still reading. I appreciate the attention, but.... oh well 3 Lions Pub is the paragon of a British Pub. The beers are seemingly limitless, there's many screens with that sport with the black and white ball, and yep DARTS. This place is a HIDDEN GEM. When you walk into this little corner of Redmond it feels like you've somehow walked into Britain. The interior is so cozy and intimate. The food here is wonderful. They've got fish and chips, pot pies, and tea. And then if you walk into the deli/gift store section across the way, there's a bunch of stuff you can buy to go too! I'm giving this place 5 stars because it is the only chippy with proper British fish and chips! Enough said! Review: if your British: Nostalgia!!!!.......then you'll love this place for those few dishes from blighty. The fish and chips were proper good chunks battered and fried to perfection. The chips were thick cut by American standards and just regular cut for us and proper like. However I felt they were a bit stingy on the chips. The British pantry next door has some pasties and sausage rolls which are hit or miss. They serve the same thing in the restaurant but in all honesty I feel some of the recipes need help. The crust taste like American pie crusts rather then the light one in England. I'm not sure if it's the flour over here that's different being the reason. The chicken curry pasty is sensational minus the not quite right crust. I can imagine this place would also see a lot more customers if they served some American fare for breakfast too. I'm not trying to complain but just want to see this chippy succeed and think it could really benefit from improved recipes. P.s. they sell frozen British sausage that they have locally made and are absolutely epic! Just like home! $6.99 for a package of 6! For Americans: this is a proper British establishment. It feels just like a British pub. British fish and chips are oily, battered and fried. Ivar for instance sells the American version and you won't find that here. But trust me when I say this is made to perfection that rivals any chippy in England. They also have a pub next door that is lively and your bound to hear a few different accents in here. One waitress was from Liverpool (lovely lady). And another from the midlands. It's a proper laid back atmosphere so don't feel worried if you hear the staff having a banter (it may sound like an argument but perfectly acceptable in British culture.) Popped in for breakfast at 10:30 am on a Saturday and had a great time. It wasn't terribly busy, but the two waitresses were really running around to make sure everyone was happy. The "English breakfast" was a very nice portion for the price and everything was cooked beautifully. Our waitress was very friendly and quick to notice us. British food gets a bad rap. It is pretty standard fair, with beef and pastry making up most of it, but done right the pasties are delicious. They also have curry, sausage rolls and of course fish and chips. Nice place and good parking in Redmond. Desserts are also good. Good beer too! My dad and I used to come here every weekend until I moved out for school. We absolutely LOVE the breakfast, BUT the service there is really mediocre. They are only open for breakfast on weekends from 10am-12pm. They stick to this and do not make any exceptions. I usually get the #2, which comes with fried potatoes, 2 eggs and bacon or sausage. It used to come with your choice of a scone or toast, but now that's extra. Throughout our times visiting, they seem to cycle in and out younger servers, but there are two older ladies that consistently work there. One is taller and thinner with white hair, super friendly lady, just takes her time. The other one is actually quite brusque with us, but I've seen her be friendly with other, older customers. It takes forever to be seated unless you push your way right up in their faces. Today a younger man told me we'd be seated, I saw our usual table was open, but we stood around for a minute or two while he got his stuff together and finally sat us. Don't get me wrong, everyone is very friendly but they are a little slow and not super up to date on today's standards of customer service. We miss eating out in the UK and loving having found Nevile's. We like their fish and chips but more especially like their Lancashire Pasties. When we don't eat there, we go next door into the bakery and buy the Lancashire Pasties and bring them home for a meal. Disappointing afternoon tea. Came here with a friend who said they had a "mighty decent afternoon tea." Being a fan of Three Lions, I was looking forward to it. The waitress wasn't familiar with the tea options which were limited and what can out was one plate of cucumber sandwiches, fruit, and one scone that we had to share. It might've been okay for one person but meager for two people. It was also missing petit fours which had to be ordered separately as dessert. I didn't need the pomp and circumstance which often comes with teas hosted at hotels and such but definitely wanted something heartier. The only saving grace was that the price was commensurate with what was served. Would pass on the tea and opt for a pasty from Three Lions instead. read more

Not only does Redmond have a British pantry and a British pub but a British restaurant/cafe. I am in my element because if I ever feel homesick I can walk just half a mile and be back in amongst things I miss. Saying that homesickness is becoming less and less of a thing seeing as the climate here is similar to at home! Hubby, little one and I came here for food. We went in the evening. Hubby had a ploughmans which is a pork pie, cheese and bread whilst I went for pie and chips. I had I believe a steak and mushroom pie. Only improvement I would make would be to add mushy peas! This place also does a full English breakfast so that's what we intend to come here for next time!! Prices here are reasonable but there is often a lack of parking, if you don't mind a walk there is another parking lot behind the cycle store. read more

Love this place. The service has always been excellent- very friendly and prompt; today they let us sit with our dog on the patio area, and even brought him a thing of water. The food is delicious- my husband usually gets either the smoked salmon salad or the Lancashire pasty, and I usually get the steak and mushroom pie. The pasty/pie crusts are tender and flaky and the fillings plentiful and flavorful. The chips are some of the best I've ever had, though a little on the salty side. I'm a fan of their black tea, too. I do feel their prices are reasonable given the quality and portion size. We would come here at least once a week (or whenever I didn't feel like cooking) if only it weren't so far away for us. read more

I was so excited to find an English restaurant/store/pub in Redmond as I was missing home. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience on all fronts. Food in restaurant was miserable. Not sure how someone can mess up fish and chips, and Sheppard's Pie but it was really bad. I added a star for the really friendly and helpful waitress. The store pretty much sold dried up pied, Tatley tea bags, outdated tea cups/sets for retirement home and even more outdated photos of the Royal Family. What a shame... read more

Service staff is absolutely ignorant to new customers. We came there on Saturday, stayed by the register for 5 minutes. Service staff would walk by few times and would say nothing. Finally they acknowledged our existence and said it would be a couple of minutes before they will sit us. The restaurant was half empty and waitresses seemed not busy. None of our "ol' standby" restaurants sounded good, so we bought we'd give a new place a try. I am so glad we did. The server was extremely friendly and made you feel welcomed and the food was so hearty and good. I loved he Shepherds Pie and my wife really enjoyed her Sherried Chicken. Wanted to take my parents out for high tea & since my husband & I have previously eaten at the pub next door which serves food from this restaurant, I knew it would be good. We walked in to the foyer area that's between the store & restaurant & waited by the entrance to the restaurant bc there was a sign saying please wait to be seated. The older lady (owner?) was at the register & glanced at us once or twice but didn't say a word about being with us in a minute or to seat ourselves so I just figured once she was done, she would seat us. Not so. She finished what she was doing & then disappeared. A few more mins went by & she reappeared & just said "are you coming in?" Not, how many in your party? no smile, no greeting, nothing. I told her we saw the sign saying to wait so we were waiting to which she then rudely replied that she couldn't see us in the foyer. 2 things stood out to me about this. 1) She most DEFINITELY saw us standing there waiting while she was at the register. 2) If she supposedly can't see people standing in that area like she claimed, why is there a sign in that same area saying please wait to be seated? If that's where you're directing people to wait & then claim to not see them, there's a problem. But then I looked at other reviews & found that this actually seems to be a common occurrence! So it seems to me that she was being rude & difficult just to be rude & difficult. There's a word for people like that. We tried to put the rude greeting aside & started perusing the menu once we were seated only to find out that they don't serve high tea until 2:30 & we got there about 1:15. We were bummed but decided on other things. Quiche for my mom, club sandwich for my dad & a 1 piece fish & chip order for me. The last 2 times I've had their fish & chips they've been amazingly delicious so I knew that would be a good choice. When I got my meal, besides the fact that the fish was extremely soggy & greasy like they didn't bother to drain them, there was 2 small pieces. The last time I ordered the 2 piece size, it was served with 2 HUGE pieces so this time I just figured they served it with 2 smaller pieces but were still considering it a 1 piece. When we got the bill, I saw that I was indeed charged for the 2 piece order but I didn't want to bother saying anything bc the waitress was so incredibly rude & condescending throughout our whole meal that by that point, I was just done. She made rude snippets & talked condescending to us the entire time all the while trying to pass it off with a sarcastic smile or laugh. Wow!!! I took my grandad, who is from Manchester, and he LOVED it here!!! He has steak & kidney pie and said it was made traditionally and it was, "just like when he was a lad". What a treat! We have missed having proper GB-style food and this menu was just perfect for a rainy day. We recommend the steak & cheese pie, the sausage rolls and definitely the fish & chips. I really didn't care for the Healthy Turkey Burger and will never order that again but everything else was terrific..right down to the steeped English tea with its own tea cozy. Our server was incredibly sweet despite how busy she was. Very hospitable! What a fun place to eat at, and explore the awesome adjoining store with goods and bakery items. Had a traditional British breakfast which consisted of an ample amount of food - sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast and baked beans. Also had a little pot of tea. It was all very good tasting and well prepared. Cozy, charming atmosphere. Wait staff a little slow, but nothing to deter a return visit. Got there shortly before 11am, and place was packed by noon.
