I am disappointed enough that I am writing a review update to remind me to never return again. We returned a few times since the initial review from 2021. Each time, something is less satisfying, such as changing the wedges of pickle fries to slices of pickle fries. We have reached the state that we will not return in the future. Location is still cool by the water. The restaurant is an outdoor eatery. For us locals, we don't stay during the wintertime. We get take-out only. Service isn't much of a thing, since we order online and pick up ourselves. The Food: Slip Burger, $12.95, Salmon burger upgrade, $2.50, Pickle Fries upgrade $4.95 - 1 Star Menu: Colby jack cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, slip sauce. Toasted & buttered pub bun, served with house seasoned fried potato chips. This order costs $20.40. I have no problem with the cost if the food is good. I was delusional and thought salmon means salmon filet, which is what Tipsy Cow serves, not chopped salmon, ala Trident/Costco salmon patty. As soon as I saw that, I knew I wasn't eating this dinner. I hate salmon patty with a passion. The pickle fries are "ok" with a passing C. I still prefer the original wedge pickle fries that are obviously house made. I am not certain about these. (I made ramen for my dinner.) Aloha Burger, $14.95, Sweet Potato Fries upgrade, $4.95 - 2.5 Stars Menu: Grilled pineapple, white bbq sauce, pepper jack cheese, romaine, red onion, fresh 1/3 lb burger patty on buttered & grilled pub bun. Served with house chips. This order costs $19.90. There isn't anything right or wrong about this meal. It was ok. For some reason, my husband was still hungry after eating his burger plus 3/4 of his sweet potato fries and 3/4 of my pickle fries. He has a healthy appetite but not this much. I will not speculate rather the burger is or is not 1/3 lb. I will simply say he ended up eating my salmon burger, too. Food: the food was delicious. We ordered fish and chips and you can choose from 2, 3, or 4 pieces we chose 2 with an upgraded side of sweet potato and then we ordered grilled cheese sandwich with a side of onion rings. The pieces of fish was small in my opinion but it was good. The grilled cheese sandwich is huge! My daughter couldn't finish the other half so I had to help her. Service: the staff is very nice. This place is kind of a hybrid for service. They absolutely will wait on you, but encourage more of a self serve motif. Staff were friendly and response to requests. If you want to be waited on (in a traditional sense) you might want to try elsewhere. Great outdoor patio. Tables are squeezed in, but you don't feel squeezed. Really surprising. What is equally surprising, but in a bad way... are their chairs. They are very sturdy. Nice looking. But you will not be touching the back rest much. They lean back. So short of lounging while eating you are propping yourself up. I had lunch with a friend and was there for 2 hours and it was fine. But if you there more for dine and dash, chairs are lacking in design. We actually both had the Cuban burger. We subbed fries for chips for an extra $2.50 each. Adding a dipping sauce is another $1. So all in $18.50 menu price for burger and fries. Burger patty was average, but combined with the "Cuban" goodies made it above average. Is it worth $15? Maybe...when you consider you're there for the outdoor seating. The fries are...OUTSTANDING! Tartar sauce...outstanding! So often tarter is too dilly. Not theirs. Absolutely a repeat. I suspect their fish n chips will be good too because a good tarter says a lot. But their portion of fries is on the small side. I'll put it this way...I'm a fry dipper but little thing of tarter provided for $1 was more than enough. Then enough for the subbed fries. Their varied drink menu is yummy looking. I wish I could have tried a few different drinks they looked so good. Kraken..yum! Old school old fashion...equally yummy. They know their drinks! Parking isn't bad. But on a nice weekend may be a little tough. On a sunny Friday for lunch..non issue parking. Will I go back? Yes but it won't be a destination per se. When i go there, i wont be going for the burger itself, I'll be going there for the whole experience. Great service, nice outdoor seating in a pleasant location, and a burger with topping options that are not overly common. A friend worked here as a cook. As a waterfront restaurant, seafood is a draw. They have fish and chips, mostly frozen seafood, deep fried. Most restaurant offerings here were for more expensive seafood offerings of the same quality. They had a unique item, grilled salad. This was Romaine and arugula salad with grilled pear, dried cranberries, bleu cheese, candied pecans, red onion, raspberry vinaigrette on the side. You could get this with a grilled salmon patty, cod, fried chicken or grilled chicken. We opted to get the salad with grilled chicken. The combination of flavors made this a tasty salad. I got the mushroom burger, but with a salmon patty. This had Grilled mushrooms, french onion spread, swiss cheese, red onion, romaine on our buttered and grilled pub bun. Served with crispy seasoned house chips. we ate our food, enjoyed the atmosphere. Had to have their Long Island iced teas. I am visiting here for the first time and ordered a burger and to my unpleasant surprise, the PAPER from the burger patty was still inside my burger and after eating half I began to choke and barely breathe and discovered that I had eaten half of the paper from the burger. I immediately called over a manager and his response was "I will give you $20 dollars back for the burger". They could care less! I notified all of the other guest and they were terrified! I wanted the food to be good because of the great view but it is consistently a disappointing experience. Ordering the food is down up front and food took about 25-30min to get it. We finished a 5K and saw this place. We waited for them to open. Ok so we sat ourself and ordered using a QR code. 35-40 minutes later they brought over our food. My husband ordered a Bleu Balsamic burger that came with chips , I had the Le Mushroom Burger with a side of yam fries on a gluten bun. My husband enjoyed his choice but no high reviews. Onion rings are $5 extra, but they literally only give you 5 small onion rings (they were like mini one inch size - see photo) and they were burned too. I brought it up to the cook. She said that is the policy - only 5. So, just be aware that you are paying extra money for very little food. You feel like you're at home watching a football games with friends and family :) there's definitely regulars here that come often We got the slip burger and paid extra for the pickle fries. It usually come with chips but we subbed it. The pickle fries was unique, as it was actual fries shape not like pickle chips. It was a little salty in my preference. This place is located one minute walking distance from the lakeside, which means it is the PERFECT establishment to come by, grab some fish and chips to go, and eat them while watching a sunset! Executed perfectly. The food was not overly greasy but was excellently fried. I'd say they were quite a bit over salted, unfortunately, but they were yummy with tartar sauce and ketchup! I haven't tried anything else here so I don't have too much more to add, but I would say that the best move is to take the food and sit by the water and listen to the music. First of all, stop leaving tips at places that make you stand and place your order, or place it from a sketchy QR code from your dirty table. Or, make you pour your own water. This place is DIRTY. The deck does not get cleaned at all and the tables do not get cleared in a timely manner. Their staff seemed really confused and kept trying to bring us other people's orders. It was too filthy to eat here so we just had drinks, which were too sugary/not strong enough. The tables were way too close together. Avoid this mess of a place. My wife and I ventured out to downtown Kirkland last Sunday around 11:00 am. We walked around Marina Park, enjoying the sights and sound on a gorgeous morning. We happened see The Slip and decided on trying it, even though the sign said 30-40 min for the food to be served. We found a table on the deck and ordered our food -- Aloha Burger and a side of Onion Rings for me and Fish and Chips for my wife. We also ordered Seattle's own Reubens Hazelicious IPA. We got the drinks and almost finished them -- 45 min later and the food was yet to be served. I went inside and asked a waitress if our food was coming out. She said another 15 min. I showed her the receipt for my order via QR code and said we'd been there for 50 min already. I said OK and went back to the table. Finally at 65 min after placing our order the food showed up. My burger patty was cold to the touch; my wife's was hot. Likely they forgot the fish and waited for it to be cooked before bringing our food out. The fish and chips were ok, per my wife's verdict. My burger had a tiny piece of grilled pineapple, a few pieces of red onion, and a small amount of lettuce. After that long wait -- the Aloha Burger was nothing to write home about. The onion rings were pretty good. The Hazelicious beer was awesome. Overall verdict. The food was not worth the wait. I do not believe we'll be going back any time soon. read more

Went here for the first time. Hostess said there was a bit of wait on food but come on in for drinks. We ordered drinks on the app as normal. The grilled cheese with pulled pork was one of the most amazing things I've had in a long time. An assortment of draft beers and cocktails were available. We've come here a few times for drinks and fries but today we sat down to have a burger and drinks. Always delicious and so low-key. The vibe is amazing and the drinks are fun! Today we had the NW Coffee since it was chilly. They definitely don't go light with pours which we always feel is a great sign. I had the slip burger which was delicious, the sauce was perfect as was the cook of the meat. They have gluten free buns which made it so I could have something. Always appreciative for that! They normally have a white board stating wait times but just add another 10-20 minutes to that time to be realistic. I live in downtown Kirkland and I tell people to go to Coastline burger around the corner if they want a good meal, fast, and friendly service in a clean restaurant at a lower price. The management is rude and will walk up to you after you sat down and ordered that there is no outside food allowed and to throw it out immediately. This is an area where people walk around and happen to have a coffee or small snacks they bought along the way. It doesn't stop them from actually ordering a meal or drinks from the restaurant. My friend and I were craving burgers so we decided to check out The Slip. I always walk by this restaurant and want to give it a try, so I'm glad I finally did. I have to say -- I don't think their seating/ordering process is the most efficient. Maybe I'm just not a fan of first come, first serve seating... When we paid for our meals (which were about $18 for a burger with an upgrade to sweet potato fries), the woman taking our order told us that we could grab sauce by the (free) water tank they had inside. We got our receipts and went over to grab some sauce. She came over and told us that we actually needed to pay for the sauce... It was a little frustrating considering she had just told us we could go grab whatever we wanted AFTER we paid! All I wanted was some ketchup though, and they did end up providing free ketchup by the water tank on the patio, so no big deal there. We ended up snagging a table on the patio and waited for at least 30 minutes for our food. The woman working said they'd bring it out to us, but they never did. We figured that since they were busy, it would take awhile to get our food, so we sat and waited... Eventually, we decided to go in to inquire about our orders. Our food was just sitting there in boxes. We had no idea how long it was sitting there, but since it wasn't hot, we assumed it was sitting there for a little bit. This was a little frustrating because we had no idea we needed to go inside and grab boxed food. I got the Aloha burger with sweet potato fries. I was extremely hungry by the time we got our food and ended up devouring my burger. It was pretty good. The sweet potato fries were great. I will say that the only thing that made my burger "Hawaiian-esque" was a single piece of pineapple on top of the patty... so that was a little bit of a letdown. I think this place has a lot of potential, and I honestly did like my food. They have a lot of yummy sounding drinks and other burgers that sound good. We live in the area and I know we will return. Even though I have lived in the Seattle are all my life, this is the first time I've eaten at The Slip. I've walked by it numerous times, but never gave a second thought...until now. I have been missing out on a great place. The food is great and the location at Moss Bay on a sunny summer afternoon is phenomenal. The burgers are great and the french fries and potato chips make it a winning combo. The only draw back is that the seating area is very small, however you can take the food to go and sit in the park and eat. Service wise, they are suffering due to COVID. The ordering is done with the app or at the entrance. But that will change once the virus becomes mainstream. As always, it's nearly impossible to get a 5-star rating from me since that would signify the best of the best. I highly recommend this place, especially on a warm summer day! Enjoy! read more

We went here yesterday around 7ishpm and we had a little hard time finding parking. There's a paid public parking for $1/hr and free from 9pm to 9am. We got to this spot and greeted by the host/server and told us to sit anywhere that's open, so we sat ourselves in a corner outside where it's suppose to be roomier/cooler. They gave us an option of ordering our food and drinks from the table (from your phone) and pay right away with your CC or go up to the counter to order. Then the server just brings you your order. If you don't want to use your email/phone number, and CC info like that, then you just go up to the counter and order. We never really saw our server/host after she handed our food, so my bf had to go up inside to ask for our refills and stuff multiple times. Now on to the food.... I wasn't really feeling the menu and my bf said he's not really that hungry so I shared the pulled pork fries with my friend (she picked his order) and the Spill burger with my bf (he picked this order). The burger was not bad. The patty was juicy and had good taste. I asked to put the veggies on the side (I was worried the veggies will be soggy or not to my liking). The lettuce was not the freshest, it's a bit dry and limpy. The tomato is ok, and the purple onions were raw and dry.
