Customers have 2h55 to enjoy their tea. I appreciate that they give me the possibility to try as wide a variety of tea as I like. Throughout the season, they have a different themed menu. Afternoon tea has been on my list of things to try for a while and when I saw that Neverland Tea Salon was promoting a Fairy Hour (happy hour on weekdays for $22) on their Instagram, I took this as my time to give this place a try The food included is a scone w/ clotted cream and strawberry jam, two finger sandwiches (egg and cucumber) and a raspberry mousse alongside your choice of tea. I really enjoyed the dishware used and the decor of the place, it was also not busy at all. The food was quite tasty and the perfect portion for me (particularly the scone with its accompaniments) though the tea didn't blow me away. I tried Berry Me with Champagne and found it to be very light and not really tasting of champagne. I did give it 4 stars instead of 5 simply because 1.5hours is actually shorter than you'd think and they give a warning 30 minutes before that feels a bit abrupt which led me to feel rushed to finish up. Instead of having the tea leaves served in the tea pot, the chosen tea is premade at the counter and pour to the tea pot to bring to table. The savoury items are better than the sweet ones. The fig and prosciutto croissant tastes even better than tea set items. If we are to visit again we will not order the tea set again. As we book the 3:30pm seating, the server notified us last call for tea at 4:30pm and reminded us the shop will close at 4:50pm. I do appreciate they have a gluten free, dairy free, veggie, etc selection as well as we can order multiple teas. The cheesecake didn't taste like cheesecake and the scones were tasteless. You can just tell nothing was made fresh except for the sandwiches, maybe. We did go on a Monday and it wasn't busy when we went so maybe that's why? The teas were good. We ordered 5-6 teas all ranging from black, green and herbal. The ginger turmeric tea had a very very strong ginger taste and some of the herbal teas were very sweet. We enjoyed the chai, genmaicha, and pixie dust. The decor was cute, I loved looking at all the tea sets and flowers. In terms of service, it was very poor. We were the only customers there yet we experienced limited attentiveness. The staff member remained engaged in conversation with a coworker, often with her back turned, and we had to make repeated efforts to get assistance. Wasn't particularly blown away by any particular item though I did enjoy my lychee tea and freedom to try others though we didn't. Maybe that's just because I haven't developed a taste for it yet but it still tastes kind of weird. Would prefer just a straight up coconut cream rather than whatever that was. I'd been to Neverland once before for Afternoon Tea, about 9 years ago. The food was excellent but I wasn't very impressed with the service back then. This time the service was much better. Our servers were much friendlier this time. We ordered two Summer High Tea sets and two Tinkerbell High Tea sets. The food was beautifully presented and everything tasted as delicious as it had been years ago. Also, the tea is unlimited! Our reservation was limited to 90 minutes, but we were allowed to order different flavors of tea as many times as we could handle during those 90 minutes so we took advantage of that and sampled at least 3 different flavors of tea each if not more! I would say that the High Tea here is moderately priced. Given that High Tea can cost as much as $70 per person, depending on where you go, this one is kind of in between. It's not cheap, but it's not one of those extravagantly priced $70 High Teas either. read more

I had such a great experience for my first-ever afternoon tea experience! I made reservations roughly around 1.5 weeks before the designated date and I was about to secure a reservation for 7 people on an early Friday afternoon. As soon as we walked in, we were seated immediately. The interior and decor were so cute and I loved every detail about the place. We all chose the Traditional menu and for this menu, it was the Summer High Tea set so it came with 5 savory dishes, 4 sweets, 1 scone (with jam and spread) and your individual tea pot which you can receive unlimited tea refills. I feel like for the amount of variety and food we received, this was very well worth the price point. Some of my favorite and most memorable items were the garlic mascarpone & cucumber sandwich and the pink lemonade choux. Though a cheese and cucumber sandwich may seem basic, to me I felt like it was the perfect bite of refreshing and savory. The pink lemonade choux was also so light and airy though I feel it did not taste like pink lemonade (not a problem to me since I prefer my sweets less sweet than average). All of the other bites were so good and perfect to pair with the tea. For my choices of tea, I tried the heavenly cream which was a black tea with notes of vanilla & bergamot and I also tried the peach pangopup which is a tisane with hints of apple, papaya, orange and peach. The heavenly cream tasted strong but also really nice, definitely kept me caffeinated for the whole day! I think my favorite was definitely the peach pangopup because I am a fan of peach teas and this tea allowed you to taste all the fruits mentioned while maintaining a good strong tea flavor. Overall, this was a great experience and the next time I am in Vancouver, I'll be sure to come back to try a different tea set. read more

On Saturday my husband and I had afternoon tea at Neverland Tea Salon in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I am coeliac, my husband is not. While they advertise it as a high tea, it is not, as high tea denotes main dishes served alongside tea sandwiches and pastries. This is an afternoon tea. For $55 CAD (+ tax and tip) I got the gluten & dairy free tower which comes with 5 sandwiches, 4 sweets, 1 scone with jam and dairy-free cream and unlimited tea. There is not a gluten-free only option, only gluten-free & dairy-free or gluten-free & vegan. If you order the vegan menu, it's served on ceramic rather than bone China. My husband had the traditional tower, which was also $55 CAD and came with the same number of items. $55 CAD = $40.14 USD = $61.77 AUD = €37,53 = £32.23 Personally, I only liked 2 of the 5 sandwiches and 2 of the 4 desserts. I liked the scone. I felt the food was extremely underseasoned and dry, like the food was old, not dry as in the default texture. I had my husband take a bite of everything I ordered to compare to his traditional tower, which had the same items except one dessert. On every item, he said his was option was more flavourful and better. I'm sure many people aren't ordering the gluten-free dairy-free menu as often, but I'd prefer to order ahead when booking the reservation than have food that tastes like it may be leftovers. I'd also suggest that the chef tastes as they go to make sure the food isn't underseasoned. While it's nice to get unlimited tea during the 90 minute seating, I feel like you're paying mostly for the ambiance. Like every afternoon tea I've ever been to, it's very loud, so don't expect ambient piano music. I wanted a summer high tea experience for my birthday and I was spoiled with this from Neverland! You must book ahead well in advance to guarantee a seating and don't be late. Seatings are limited to 1.5 hrs, I did not feel rushed but definitely would have happily stayed longer to enjoy their bottomless tea from their extensive list. I really enjoyed the decor and loved that the teacups were mismatched. The tower of sandwiches and pastries were stunning!! The Thai red curry egg salad was the standout to me for the savoury bites and was not actually spicy but perfectly moist and seasoned. The pink lemonade choux was filled with sweet cream, I really enjoyed that bite and would come back just for that. My first high tea in Vancouver. Very nice ambience and cute decor, way too noisy to chat with your friends though. Honestly food was so-so but they were pretty generous with the sizes (we had to pack some for leftovers). Taste wise honestly they were pretty dry and felt like something you got from grocery store. I'm also feeling torn about the tea. On one hand I'm happy they have so many varieties (not quite TWG level but more than 50 for sure), however upon talking to the team I realised the teas were pre-made and not brewed fresh for you. The ambiance is perfect if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The attention to detail, from the ethereal wallpaper to the dainty teacups, makes the experience that much better. Not a lot of high tea places in Vancouver have vegetarian or vegan options, but Neverland had a whole menu dedicated for both those options which I appreciated greatly. The services was amazing, the staff explained the menu to us and did not mind any of the questions we had. They were so lively and warm. We ordered their vegetarian high tea menu which had an assortment of sweet and savory bites. Everytime I took a bite of something, I would say "yummmmm!" I couldn't help it. Neverland Tea Salon exceeded my expectations. The ambiance the minute you walk inside is nothing short of class, fun and whimsy. I enjoyed the subtle nods to both Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan in the decor as well as the various chandeliers and various types of seating options including velvet couches and adorable wooden chairs. Of note, your seating time is limited to 1.5 hours and the time is strictly followed. However, during this time you are given over 50 teas to choose from and myself and my friend enjoyed at least 6 different teas. My favourites were the cherry herbal tea and the Canadian maple black tea. Being gluten and dairy free often means having a hard time finding restaurants that can accommodate my dietary restrictions. However, Neverland Tea has accommodations for many different dietary restrictions including a specifically gluten and dairy free high tea menu. The gluten and dairy free high tea menu tasted unreal and was extremely well presented. There wasn't a single item I did not enjoy. Strangely, I also have an allergy to strawberries and had forgot to mention that prior to the treats arriving. When I asked the server if any of the pastries had strawberries, she advised me she would check with the chef. Moments later the chef returned with a new treat tower and apologized about the strawberry desserts and advised me he had swapped them out with desserts that did not contain strawberries. There was no need for him to apologize given it was my fault I didn't mention it prior to ordering, but I was taken aback by the kindness and courtesy of all the staff. They were incredibly accommodating and set on making your experience there a fantastic one. Although the seat timing is limited, I find this experience well worth the price and would even say its affordable for all that you get. Tea is bottomless but only one pot at a time, so you can try as many as you please. The list was quite extensive and if you find a favourite, you can purchase a tin, or two, to bring home, too. My favourites were the applewood smoked cheddar with Mumbai chai infused apple butter croissant and the black sesame cheesecake. I tried really hard to try as many different tea as I can to find a tea that I want to buy home but didn't find any. I did end up going to the bathroom a lot after though The tea started off with a tomato shooter that tasted like salsa. Then we get our tea set. I like the portion size of their savouries and scones. The hubby and I came while visiting Vancouver because we love tea. Being SF Bay Area folks local favs include Lovejoy's in SF, as well as Lavender Bakery and Blue Willow in Berkeley. We didn't have a reservation, but Payton was able to find a spot for us. The savories were great combo of tastes - loved the warm sundried tomatoes in a croissant and the chicken salad with walnuts. The sweets were just as yummy; the lemon cake with lemon crème was my fav - it's not too sweet and the right creamy feel. As far as the ambiance.. Neverland is fun and whimsical with lots of artwork that can be "Easter eggs" painted on the walls for young people to identify. I came here with a friend for both of our first high tea! This was mainly my pick because they have a vegan high tea option (and options to accommodate other diets, like vegetarian, dairy-free, and GF) which is pretty uncommon. Upon arriving, I was very charmed by the setting. It's fairytale themed (think more along the surrealist lines of Neverland and Wonderland, not princesses) and there are tons of whimsical decorations. My friend ordered the regular Mad Hatter's High Tea and I ordered the vegan version. The waitress introduced each of the items when she brought the set out, but I forgot most of them pretty quickly and rediscovered as I went. Every item was delicious, and very creative! I didn't feel like the vegan selection was a quality compromise, except for maybe the croque monsieur where the vegan cheese did not get as nice of a broiled crust as the regular cheese on my friend's croque. The high tea includes unlimited tea, and they have a huge selection to choose from! I tried the Chocolate Mint rooibos, the Some Like It Hot green tea, and then split a pot of the Berry Me in Champagne white tea. All the teas were good but the Some Like It Hot kind of stole the show. I was very into the spicy aftertaste with this one! Although high tea isn't cheap, I felt like I got my money's worth with the variety that was offered and the care that went into each item, and we were well-looked after by the staff. I've always wanted to do high tea with a large group. Since I was here for a bach party, I thought it would be a cute idea to have a meal here with a group of 10 people. I made reservations 1.5 months in advance. Since we had a large group, we were limited to 2 hours of service time. When we got to the restaurant, we realized that there was another bride celebrating either her bridal shower or bach party haha. We were seated at a large table near the restaurant window. All 10 of us ordered the regular high tea set since we didn't have anyone who had an dietary restrictions. When we were given the tea menu, we were really excited. Every person ordered at least two different kinds of tea. We also had different tea cups too. Some of the sandwiches were really good. I really like the sandwich with the pesto it in. The cucumber sandwich was refreshing to eat. I really enjoyed the pastries. The scone was a bit hard to eat since it's more dense, but it was also really good. Our party consisted of 8 women and 2 men. I was a bit surprised to see that the men in our group were really enjoying their tea experience more than the women were haha. One of the men even ordered a bag of tea to bring back to the states! Our group really enjoyed this tea experience and got to sample a lot of different kinds of tea. I would highly recommend this tea shop because this is one of the few tea shops that I've seen that accommodates for gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian folks! Quite enjoyed the Summer high teas. We had a reservation, great service, super cute decor. However, you do sit pretty close to the other tables and can hear whatever they're talking about so keep that in mind. I was impressed by all the choices and unique tea flavors - all of which we tried were pretty good! Once you finish your pot of tea, you can try another batch of different flavors. The scones were the perfect softness, sandwiches were all amazing honestly. You can tell they were freshly made and delicious. The only thing I wasn't really amazed by was the chocolate cake as one of the desserts. But seriously the scones, sandwiches - great. Thank you! read more

This place is delightful! I went for the Wimbledon tea which had a tennis theme decor and treats. I had the vegan meal which was delicious, especially the tea sandwiches and mini quiches. It's great that they offer unlimited tea as not all places do. You can try as many as you want which is nice since their menu of teas is very extensive! The service was great and the location is easy to find. I can't say enough good things about this place. I can't wait to go back! read more
