Wow all I can say is this is one incredible brewery!! They have all the styles of craft beers from traditional lager and Belgians to IPAs, stouts (especially barrel aged) and fruited sours that are core beers and two new Friday beers every week so you'll never get tired of their list!! Finally got a chance to try Neon Desert Brewing, the Arts District spot which moved into the old Bad Beat location. I was quite a fan of Bad Beat and the people who ran it and was quite surprised and sad when they left for the Arts District but upon venturing in to Neon Desert after work last week, my fears were extinguished. Despite sporting new signage, the place looked almost exactly the same and even still has trivia Thursday nights, along with a themed trivia on Wednesdays. I got a chance to talk to the owner/brew master and had a short but delightful conversation with him about why he chose to move to Henderson and was able to get some insight into the other breweries in the area. Now, I say this in every brewery review I write, but I'm not a big beer drinker but could easily get behind the two that I tried here (Murican Lager and Pie Fighter). Murican was exactly how you would think it would be, light, crisp, refreshing, and totally crushable, similar to all of those tried and true American light beers but with actual flavor. It's the perfect beer for those hot Henderson days. Pie fighter was something different entirely, something I wasn't expecting, but something I appreciated. Went to go visit Henderson Booze District's newest addition - Neon Desert Brewing, who just moved from the Arts District and into the place of Bad Beat Brewing's former occupancy, who themselves are currently in the process of moving to the Arts District. So this is a little switch-a-roo for them right here. Though it's Neon Desert Brewing now, some of Bad Beat's signs are still present inside and out, but that means it takes some time to get everything moved out. Everything inside was exactly like what it was when it used to be Bad Beat, for now at least. The only thing that was different here was their beer selections on tap, in which there were 13 on tap, and in their to-go fridge. We started off with a flight, with four beers each. We got the Dunkelzahn's Secret Munich Dunkel (#6), the Coconillacan Imperial Stout (#8), the Sin City Amber Ale (#9), and Mojave Brewing's Millions of Peaches Cider (#10), in which the Mojave Brewing selection was a guest tap. I don't like stouts, so my boyfriend ended up having the Coconillacan all by himself, describing the beer as a stout with a very chocolate-y flavor. The Sin City Amber Ale was ok, but the taste was a little too dark for me. I like the lighter beers better than the darker beers, so I really enjoyed the Dunkelzahn's Secret and the Millions of Peaches Cider. The Dunkelzahn's tasted like a Hefeweizen and the Millions of Peaches Cider was incredibly fruity. I also decided to take a four-pack of Hefe Vice City (German Style Hefeweizen) home with me, since they were having a St. Patrick's Day sale where all to-go cans were 17% off. I asked for a sampler of this first before buying it just to make sure that I would like it first. And yes, I did! I can't wait to try this in full when I get to it! We frequented Bad Beat while it was in this location and the new business Neon Desert were kind enough to honor the rest of their "mug club" memberships. We stopped by and tried a few glasses and a 4-beer flight to try their options. They were all wonderful, just like BB was before them. Flight: Sin City Amber, Scotch 80's Edinburgh, Cocconillacan, 11 Circles of Helles. Pours: Dunkelzahn's Secret (mug), Their raspberry lemonade (I don't think it was called Punk Lemonade) that was first tapped May 10th. All very good. The wife enjoyed the amber, which is rare for her. If it's not tart and fruity, she doesn't like it. She said it felt like a refreshing summer beer in her tastes. The scotch was great, I enjoyed the flavors. As expected, but done well. I'm a dark beer guy, and love stouts, but I'm NOT a coconut guy. The stout had a sweet forward coconut, a little chocolate perhaps, and then a finish that was a bit more bitter than the sweetness prepared you for. Wife liked the first sip, but not so much the aftertaste. I was the opposite. The dunkel was wonderful. Exactly perfect, exactly what I both expected and wanted. It was great. It was the kind of beer I could drink daily and not get tired of it. Her lemonade concoction was good. Tart from the lemonade, with a fresh strawberry finish. I thought it was good, but tarts aren't my thing. She adored it. Now let's talk 11 Helles. Wtf, I loved it, but I can see how many people wouldn't. I spoke with a brewer and he explained that they used whatever peppers were fresh and available. This batch was made with ghost, reaper, and pepper X--the hottest options. You order by spice number, 1-11. They dilute the full octane 11 to make your lower choices. I didn't catch what it was diluted with, another beer in the same class. I'm a spice guy. I eat ghost pepper and reaper sauce regularly, but I also know some of those sauces can dumb down the spice (still, few friends can regularly handle my sauces). This isn't a brag, just and explanation. At the brewer's recommendation, I started at 5. It was spicy, yes, but no more than what I'd consider an average hot sauce--my average hot sauce. The wife's eyes watered and she asked why I hated her. I went back up for an 11 because of morbid curiosity and natural heat-seeking tendencies. After the 5, I couldn't get much more spice or burn. It was good, it was hot, but it didn't feel twice as hot. Perhaps I was burned out. The flavor was great, honestly. It smelled almost like a jalapeno popper. A fresh one. Fresh pepper and something else, cooked. The flavor was pure fresh pepper. It was very good. My burn was experienced at the back of my throat. A high-heat but still comfortable burn, not anything like heartburn or reflux, but a spice burn at the bottom of the throat. I rather enjoyed it. read more

Tried this place with a meetup group for trivia and it did not disappoint. I tried a few of their beers. I started with the Nonde! Japanese rice lager, which I liked as a lighter option. I found it mild and pleasant, and could see this as a good session beer for the evening. The CocoNillaCan, an imperial stout loaded with the flavors of coconut, vanilla, and pecan, was on my radar, however, at a whopping 10% and the potential of a lot of sweetness in a cup, I decided to try it a different way. The "Gold & Night" is Neon Desert's version of a Black & Tan. I ordered the combo of CocoNillaCan and Blonde Logger (lager) as my winning raffle ticket beer. I really enjoyed it and would likely order it again. I was disappointed that the Helles option was tapped out (Heaven and Helles) so I'll have to try it another time. They had a spicy version, Circle of Helles, but I wasn't in the mood for the spice! I was allowed to try a sample of the prickly pear option, a flavor I am very particular about, but it tasted a bit watered down for my liking. Trivia was a lot of fun, even though I didn't know 85% of the questions. They made sure to give us folks who don't like answering Derek Jeter questions a supply of dopamine regardless in the form of raffle tickets for each beer purchased and giving out fun little prizes. Has a few different kinds including the typical IPAs but also heavier ales. They have coffee too. I was around so I came in. It's a small place. There's not a whole lot of room. It's amazing they have as many beers as they do. What they have is also good. Also has coffee and they put it in the beer. Very good stuff. I like the BD Barrel Aged Wee Heavy. It's $8 for a pint. This is a Scotch ale, and it's heavy so yes it can surely fuck with you. Lots of funny names. They're clever and quite witty. It's worth it ordering just for these alone. So last brewery visit on this trip was Neon Desert Brewing and my 223rd brewery overall. When we arrived at about 4pm there were only a couple people inside. We grabbed spots at the bar and were quickly helped by the young lady working it. My flight included Heaven is Helles, The Litigator, Ain't No Fest For The Wicked, Dunklezahns Secret, Coconillacan, and I'm A Little Bourbon Nitro Stout. No individual reviews this time unfortunately which is actually because the reason I didn't was the people. The bartender ended up hanging out and chatting with us, then Jim the brewer came out. Very friendly crew here and the beer was very good. The Coconillacan and the nitro stout were probably my favorites. SWPFTD would have definitely enjoyed the fest bier. I heard rumors of Neon Desert moving locations so I hope when I'm back in the area I can track them down for a pint. We wandered into Neon Desert Brewing on at Saturday night around 6:30. Besides our friendly bartender, we were the only ones there. If you really knew me you would know that I dislike beer. Ok so I finally got a chance to get in here and try some of the beers! I'll have to come back, as they have so many, which at first worried me, but as I was to soon find out, my worries were put to rest! Service was efficient and the two ladies working who are co owners were polite and friendly! I was doing flights, so I just started at the top of the extensive menu and started working my way down! Pretty much everything I tried was well made, tasty, and true to style! Some were just outstanding! I was very impressed with all of the offerings, and really enjoyed my time there! "It's a lot easier to start the day when you know it will end with beer" says The Beer Chicks, firmly believing that "beer is good!" This brewery feels like a match made in heaven, they are literally on the same block as The Lighthouse. If you've heard of serendipity, you know that life has a clever way of dropping blessings in the most unexpected moment, and for us this place was a totally pleasant surprise! Located at the Arts District on Main Street, Neon Desert Brewing offers some of the finest selection of handcrafted beers. With 23 house taps and 21 beers, there's just so much variety and the menu changes all the time. Not only is this an inviting atmosphere to chill but with their superb and friendly service, they certainly know how to attract a good crowd. Inside is quite cozy, there's enough seatings for couples, group meetups and you can even host a small private gathering. The menu is found on the table and order is placed at the bar. You can opt for a 12 oz, 6 oz, or taster. For something light, a good option would be Heaven is Helles and Hefeweizen Vice City. Our personal favorite is the Strawberry Kiwi, this one is their newest offering, it's a light fruity flavor that taste so nice and smooth. We've also tried a couple of amusingly funny named drinks. "I'm A Little Chocolate Short & Stout" (6 oz, $4) has chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla and lactose with an ABV 7.8% and IBU 17. This one has a deep chocolate flavor, it's good! Another great one is "We Don't Talk About Brew, Noi Nitro" (6 oz, $4), it's a golden milk stout with cinnamon, vanilla, and is lactose aged on Brazilian coffee beans from dark moon coffee roasters, this has an ABV 5.6% and IBU 5. As for food, the brewery doesn't have a kitchen. They use a restaurant venue that's off property to make food and the order is placed through a third party app called Second Kitchen. There's a QR code to view the menu and after purchase, it typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes of wait time before the food arrives via Door Dash. Surprisingly, the food delivered was very delicious! It's coming from Letty's de Leticia's Cocina which is a restaurant that's not far from the brewery. We really enjoyed our drinks with the Quesabirria Tacos ($6 each) these were satisfying and so filling! The chipotle corn masa tortilla was crispy, filled with tender birria and melted oaxaca cheese, I just love dipping this taco in consommé. The Guisados Taco ($5) was also flavorful, however it is a small serving and knowing this now, it's best to order at least three. Overall, this brewery was a great experience for us and we'll surely be back for new drinks! read more

Looks like it's time to reopen the Yelp account. Beer District Brewing is a fairly new business that launched back in February, just before COVID-19 prompted the shutdown of society as we knew it. During the past two months, they gained a temporary restaurant license to get pickup service going, so they took advantage of that to reopen at 50% capacity on the first day allowed by the governor of Nevada. Located on the north end of the Arts District (no relation) and boasting a modest but very welcome parking lot, these guys were certainly promising based on my preview tastings of beers and early visits. The interior sure looked and smelled clean when I was there before, and walking in, I saw few changes aside from proper table spacing and bar closure (and a touchless hand sanitizer dispenser). It wasn't crowded at the time either, thankfully, but I'm sure that other local fans of craft beer are anxious to step out and will stop by very soon. Both house and guest taps have full price options (mostly $6) in the 12-16 oz pour size, but half-pours ($3) and tasters for flights ($2) are only available for Beer District brews. For now, you have to place orders with servers who walk to your table, which is mostly just fine by me because I got my flight prepared properly and accurately. I did have to use a particular third-party app or wait for the TV menus to cycle back around to the beer lists due to intentional removal of paper menus. All of their IPAs and lighter styles are solid and worth trying, but for me, their emerging stars are their stouts. Although some have adjuncts such as cacao nibs and coffee, they're not like the hyped pastry stouts at all. Their Vegas In A Bottle served on nitro had rich but bitter chocolate flavor, and the silky mouthfeel imparted by the nitrogen was luxurious. CocoNillaCan had some nice vanilla and coconut going for it, and both regular and nitro versions of Vegas Nights had nice coffee tones. I look forward to seeing more of what Beer District can do. They're a bit removed from the other breweries of 18b, but they're worth the drive or walk if you're a beer fan. Can't say I've tried their grilled cheese or quesadilla yet though. read more

This brewery is a vibe, especially if you have Kelly as your bartender! She has the energy and personality to keep you wanting to stay and drink. We got the flight of 6 and hands down our favorite beers were 1) cherry limeade berlinger and 14) coconillacan. They had a guest tap from Able Baker where all proceeds were donated to ALS. They don't have a kitchen in house but you can place an order using a QR code with Letty's and it will be delivered quick.
